However, mproper use can result n electr c shock and / or f re. In order to
prevent potent al danger, please observe the follow ng nstruct ons when
nstall ng, operat ng and clean ng the product. To ensure your safety and
prolong the serv ce l fe of your L qu d Crystal Telev s on, please read the
follow ng precaut ons carefully before us ng the product.

9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polar zed or ground ng-type plug.
A polar zed plug has two blades w th one w der than the other. A
ground ng type plug has two blades and a th rd ground ng prong. The
w de blade and the th rd prong are prov ded for your safety. If the
prov ded plug does not f t nto your outlet, consult an electr c an for
replacement of the obsolete outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from be ng walked on or p nched part cularly at
the plugs, conven ence receptacles, and the po nt where they ex t from
the apparatus.
11. Only use attachments/accessor es spec f ed by the manufacturer.
12. Use only w th the cart, stand, tr pod, bracket, or table spec f ed by the
manufacturer, or sold w th the apparatus. When a cart s used, use
caut on when mov ng the cart/apparatus comb nat on to avo d njury from

14. Refer all serv c ng to qual f ed serv ce personnel. Serv c ng s requ red
when the apparatus has been damaged n any way, such as power-

ncluded custom bezel clean ng cloth
for clean ng the bezel of the TV only.
Do not use a l qu d or a spray cleaner
for clean ng the product. Do not use
abras ve cleaners.
• Always use the accessor es
recommended by the manufacturer to
nsure compat b l ty.
• When mov ng the TV from an area of
low temperature to an area of h gh
temperature, condensat on may form
on the hous ng. Do not turn on the TV
mmed ately after th s to avo d caus ng
f re, electr c shock or component
damage.
• Do not place the TV on an unstable
cart, stand, or table. If the TV falls, t
can njure a person and cause ser ous
damage to the appl ance. Use only a
cart or stand recommended by the
manufacturer or sold w th the TV.
• Any heat source should ma nta n a
d stance of at least 5 feet away from
the TV, .e. rad ator, heater, oven,
ampl f er etc. Do not nstall the product
too close to anyth ng that produces
smoke or mo sture. Operat ng the
product close to smoke or mo sture
may cause f re or electr c shock.
• Slots and open ngs n the back and
bottom of the cab net are prov ded for
vent lat on. To ensure rel able
operat on of the TV and to protect t
from overheat ng, be sure these
open ngs are not blocked or covered.
Do not place the TV n a bookcase or
cab net unless proper vent lat on s
prov ded.
• Never push any object nto the
vent lat on slots of the TV. Do not
place any objects on the top of the
Product. It could short c rcu t parts
caus ng a f re or electr c shock. Never
sp ll l qu ds on the TV.
• Do not use the TV n a portra t format
(by rotat ng 90 degrees) under h gh
temperature env ronment (25°C or
h gher), s nce th s would retard heat
d ss pat on and would eventually
damage the TV.
• The TV should be operated only from
the type of power source nd cated on
the label. If you are not sure of the
type of power suppl ed to your home,
consult your dealer or local power
company.
• The power cable must be replaced
when us ng d fferent voltage from that
spec f ed n the User Manual. For
more nformat on, contact your dealer.
• The TV s equ pped w th a three-
pronged grounded plug, a plug w th a
th rd (ground ng) p n. Th s plug w ll f t
only nto a grounded power outlet as a
safety feature. If your outlet does not
accommodate the three-w re plug,
have an electr c an nstall the correct
outlet, or use an adapter to ground the
appl ance safely. Do not defeat the
safety purpose of the grounded plug.

If an outs de antenna or cable system s to be connected to the TV, make sure that the
antenna or cable system s electr cally grounded to prov de some protect on aga nst
voltage surges and stat c charges. Art cle 810 of the Nat onal Electr cal Code,
ANSI/NFPSA 70, prov des nformat on w th regard to proper ground ng of the mast and
support ng structure, ground ng of the lead- n w re to an antenna d scharge un t, s ze of
the ground ng conductors, locat on of antenna d scharge un t, connect on to ground ng
electrodes, and requ rements of the ground ng electrode.
Lightning Protection
For added protect on of the TV dur ng a l ghtn ng storm or when t s left unattended or
unused for long per ods of t me, unplug the TV from the wall outlet and d sconnect the
antenna or cable system.
Power Lines
Do not locate the antenna near overhead l ght or power c rcu ts, or where t could fall

The SCEPTRE TV s packaged n a carton. Any standard accessor es are packed
separately n another carton. The we ght of the TV s approx mately 8.38 lbs. Due to the
s ze and we ght of the product, t s suggested that t must be handled by a m n mum of
2 or more persons. S nce the glass can be eas ly scratched or broken, please handle
the product gently. Never place the un t on a surface w th the glass fac ng downwards
unless t s on protect ve padd ng. When open ng the carton, check that the product s n
good cond t on and that all standard accessor es and tems are ncluded. Save the
or g nal box and all pack ng mater als for future sh pp ng needs.

Please read the user manual carefully before perform ng the nstallat on. The power
consumpt on of the d splay s approx mately 26 watts. Please use the power cord
des gnated for the product. When an extens on cord s requ red, use one w th the
correct power rat ng. The cord must be grounded and the ground ng feature must not be
defeated. The product should be nstalled on a flat surface to avo d t pp ng. Space
should be ma nta ned between the back of the product and the wall for proper
vent lat on. If you would l ke to mount the HDTV onto the wall, please see page 8, and
10 for add t onal nformat on. Avo d nstall ng the product n the k tchen, bathroom or
other places w th h gh hum d ty dust or smoke, so as not to shorten the serv ce l fe of
the electron c components. Please ensure the product s nstalled w th the screen n
landscape or entat on. Any 90° clockw se or counterclockw se nstallat on may nduce
poor vent lat on and success ve component damage.

1. To attach the base, al gn the base and the HDTV. Place the HDTV's neck on the
base shown below.
2. Rotate the HDTV (counter-clockw se) as the p cture has shown unt l you hear a
cl ck ng sound from the base. Afterwards, the HDTV w ll be ready for use.
3. To remove the stand, remove the screws n the c rcled area and the neck w ll come
off.

INDICATOR LIGHT – The l ght s red when power s plugged n but the HDTV s not turned on. The
l ght turns blue when the HDTV s turned on. Because of the LED in the pane , the HDTV might
take 10 – 12 seconds to power on.
REMOTE SENSOR – The remote sensor rece ves all the commands from the remote control.

8mm. Please Note : The 8mm length of screw refers to how deep the screw can go ns de the

The fo owing are button descriptions from top to bottom.
1. POWER – Turn on the HDTV by press ng the button once. Press the button aga n
to turn off the HDTV.
2. SOURCE – Th s button sw tches between all the d fferent sources of the HDTV.
When the OSD s act ve, th s button acts as the OK button and conf rms the menu
select on.
3. MENU – Th s button act vates the On Screen D splay (OSD). If a sub-menu s
act ve, press ng th s button w ll ex t the OSD.
4. CH(▲) – Th s button changes the HDTV channel up. If the OSD s act ve, th s
button funct ons as up for the menu.
5. CH(▼) – Th s button changes the HDTV channel down. If the OSD s act ve, th s
button funct ons as down for the menu.
6. VOL(+) – Th s button ncreases the HDTV’s volume. If a sub-menu s act ve,
press ng th s button w ll move the select r ght.
7. VOL(-) – Th s button decreases the HDTV’s volume. If a sub-menu s act ve,
press ng th s button w ll move the select on left.
8. EJECT – Press th s button to open or close the DVD player.
9. PLAY/PAUSE –Press th s button to play or pause the DVD program you’re
watch ng.
P ease Note:
• For the EJECT and PLAY/PAUSE button to work you must be under the
source DVD. The buttons wi not work under other sources.

1. DC – Th s connect on connects to an AC adapter for power ng the HDTV.
2. USB – USB connects to USB flash dr ves for play ng mus c and p cture. The
USB port s also used for updat ng the HDTV’s f rmware.
3. HDMI1 – HDMI connects to dev ces that use HDMI cable, such as Blu-ray or
HD DVD player, or HD cable / satell te set-top box. Th s connect on port
rece ves pure d g tal aud o and h gh def n t on s gnal through one s ngle cable.
Th s port also can accept a HDCP v deo dev ce for v deo.
4. HDM2 – Refer to HDMI1.
5. VGA - Th s connect on port connects to a PC for v deo us ng VGA cable. Be
sure to connect your aud o cable to the VGA Stereo nput f you want sound
out of VGA v deo source.
6. Audio In - Th s connect on port s for people who want to prov de aud o to the
HDTV when us ng a PC or a DVI v deo dev ce. The sources use 3.5mm m n -
jack aud o cable.
7. SPDIF - Th s connect on port s used for send ng out d g tal aud o s gnals to
d g tal surround sound rece vers. The orange (COAX SPDIF OUT) connector
sends out e ther b t-stream or PCM d g tal sound s gnal to a home theater
rece ver w th d g tal coax nput.
8. HEADPHONE – Th s connect on s for headphones to be attached to the
HDTV.
9. YPbPr – Th s connect on port s for DVD players or satell te / cable set-top
boxes that use component cables. From left to r ght, connect green, blue,
and red for v deo, and then connect wh te for left channel aud o, and red for

10. Video – V deo connects to dev ces that use compos te v deo cables such as
VCR or DVD player or W ™. Connect the yellow for v deo and the red / wh te
for aud o. P ease Note: audio is shared with YPbPr port.
11. LR – These two connect ons are aud o connect on for e ther YPbPr or V deo
port.
12. TV – Th s connect on s for d g tal or analog cable w thout the cable box or
over-the-a rwave antennas. The tuner s a hybr d tuner that tunes to both
analog and d g tal channels. Th s connect on uses coax al RF cable. For
over-the a rwave d g tal stat ons please check http://www.antennaweb.org.
P ease Note:
• Th s HDTV features a power sav ng funct on wh ch w ll turn off the HDTV
automat cally after 5 m nutes of dl ng on a connect on w th no s gnal.

Please nsert the l th um (cr2025) battery nto the remote control. Make sure the (+) side faces up
whi e the (-) side faces downwards you are insta ing the battery. When you are insta ing the
battery, the remote’s backside shou d be facing up. Afterwards, re-attach the battery cover.
Please note:
• Only use l th um cr2025 batter es.
• Insert ng the batter es ncorrectly may also result n crack ng or leakage that may pose a f re
r sk or lead to personal njury.
• D spose the batter es n accordance w th local laws and regulat ons.
• Keep the batter es away from ch ldren and pets.
• If the remote control s not used for a long t me, remove the batter es.

For universa remotes, this TV fo ows SONY’s universa remote code. You need
to find the actua code from your cab e or sate ite or universa remote provider.
1. POWER - Turns the TV on or off.
2. SOURCE - Press th s button to cycle through the INPUT source.
3. PICTURE - Selects var ous preset p cture sett ngs.
4. CC - Cycles between d fferent closed capt on ng modes.
5. SLEEP – Turns the TV off n a spec f c set of t me dependent on your select on.
6. MUTE – Turns the sound off from the TV. To unmute e ther press VOL(+) or press the MUTE
button aga n.
7. SOUND - Selects var ous preset sound sett ngs.
8. MTS - Selects stereo, mono, or second aud o programm ng.
9. FAVORITE - G ves you your l st of favor te channels.
10. ASPECT - Selects d fferent v ew ng modes of the TV.
11. GUIDE - Opens the current d g tal channel nformat on gu de (antenna on y).
12. INFO - Shows the d splay nfo.
13. VOL(+)/VOL(-)/ CH(+)/CH(-)/OK - Press the VOL buttons to ncrease or decrease the sound
level. Press the CH buttons to go through the channel l st. Press the OK button to select or
execute tems h ghl ghted.
14. MENU - Br ngs up the ma n TV menu on the screen.
15. EXIT - Ex t the ma n TV menu on the screen.
16. NUMBER BUTTONS (0-9) - Press 0-9 to select a TV channel d rectly when you are watch ng
TV. The channel w ll change after 2 seconds.
17. (-) - Inserts the dash for select ng d g tal channels d rectly.
18. R - Returns to the prev ous channel.
19. AUTO EJECT - Press th s button to open or close the DVD player.
20. DVD - Press th s button to go to the DVD source.
21. USB - Launches the USB reader funct on for the p ctures and mus c.
22. ►/║ - Play/pause button n MEDIA mode.

24. FREEZE - Freezes the TV p cture.

28. FAST FOWARD – Press th s button to fast forward the DVDto the next scene.

opt on and enter the t me. Your DVD would start play ng from the t me you selected.
36. REPEAT - Press th s button for repeat the program.

• To insert, eject a disc from the DVD p ayer, to use any functions on the DVD
you must press the DVD button first.
• To increase or decrease vo ume from the DVD p ayer, you must press DVD

1. Make sure the power of HDTV and your DVD player s turned off.
2. Obta n a Component Cable. Connect the green color connector to both your DVD player
and YPbPr’s green connector port on the back of your HDTV.
3. Connect the blue color connector to both your DVD player and YPbPr’s blue connector
port on the back of your HDTV.
4. Connect the red color connector to both your DVD player and YPbPr’s red connector
port on the back of your HDTV.
5. Obta n a RCA Aud o Cable. Connect the wh te color connector to both your DVD player
and YPbPr’s wh te connector port on the back of your HDTV.
6. Connect the red color connector to both your DVD player and YPbPr’s red connector
port on the back of your HDTV.
7. Turn on the HDTV and your DVD player.
8. Use the remote control’s source button or the source button on the HDTV to sw tch to
YPbPr.
Please Note :
•
Somet mes DVD players w ll not automat cally output to YPbPr. You w ll
need to conf gure your DVD player w th AV connect on f rst then sw tch to
YPbPr. Please reference the DVD player’s manual, to make sure the DVD
player s conf gured to output correctly to the HDTV.

If you use this connection, you wi not be ab e to use the ye ow
co ored VIDEO connection with audio because the red and white audio
connections are shared.

1. Make sure the power of HDTV and your PC s turned off.
2. Obta n a 15-p n D-Sub VGA cable; connect to the VGA output of your PC and the
other end to the VGA port on the back of your HDTV.
3. Obta n a 3.5 mm M n -jack, connect to the aud o out of your PC and the other end
to the VGA Stereo Input port.
4. Turn on the power of the HDTV and your PC.
5. Use the remote control’s source button or the source button on the HDTV to sw tch
to VGA.
6. Change your PC resolut on to 1360x768 at 60hz refresh rate.
7. Press MENU to use the OSD’s SETUP opt on.
8. Under the SETUP opt on select PC funct on.
9. Under VGA funct on use AUTO ADJUST to adjust the screen.
Please Note :
• For the best results, please set your PC resolut on to 1360x768 at 60
Hz. Please refer to the PC or graph c card’s manual for further
nstruct ons on how to set your resolut on and refresh rate.
• Please refer to your PC manual for v deo output requ rements of the
v deo card.
• The VGA port of the HDTV features a power sav ng mode wh ch w ll
automat cally turn off the HDTV, f there’s no s gnal prov ded for more
than 5 m nutes.
