Using with the AC power lead
After checking all the connections, connect the AC power lead to the AC
power input socket, then to the wall socket.
Before connecting the AC power lead, remove the cardboard from the AC
power plug.

Remove the battery cover.
Insert the 2 supplied "AAA" size batteries (UM-4, R03, HP-16 or similar)
according to the direction indicated in the battery compartment.
When inserting or removing the batteries, push them toward the battery terminals.
Replace the cover.

Open the battery compartment.
Insert the 2 supplied "AA" size batteries (UM/SUM-3, R6, HP-7 or similar) into the
battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment.

Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to
close the disc tray.
Discs supporting auto start will start to play once you close the disc tray even if you do not press the
PLAY/PAUSE button.
If playback does not start, press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
After use:
When not using this unit, set the ON/STAND-BY switch on the main unit to .
Set the ON/STAND-BY switch on the main unit to ON.
When the ON/STAND-BY switch on the main unit is set to ON, you can also turn the
power on or put the unit in the stand-by mode using the ON/STAND-BY button on the
remote control.
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to
open the disc tray.
Place the disc on the disc tray, label
side up.

Press the TUNER/BAND button repeatedly to select the desired frequency band (FM or
AM).
Press the or button to tune in to the desired station.
When the or button is pressed for more than 0.5 seconds, scanning starts automatically and
the tuner stops at the first receivable broadcast station.

If trouble occurs
When this product is subjected to strong external interference (mechanical shock, excessive static electricity, abnormal supply voltage due to lightning, etc.) or if it is operated incorrectly, it may malfunction.
If such a problem occurs, do the following:
1 Set the ON/STAND-BY switch on the main unit to and turn the power on again.
2 If the unit is not restored to normal operation, unplug it for a while, then reconnect the power.
Maintenance
Routine maintenance is required for continued optimum performance, refer to the operation manual (page 39).
DVD playback
To interrupt playback
Press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
To stop playback
Press the STOP button twice.
Resume play
1. Whilst the disc is playing, press the

To locate the beginning of a
chapter/track (skip)
Whilst a disc is playing, press the

Fast forward/Fast reverse (search)

to return to normal playback.
