SPECIAL NOTE FOR USERS IN THE U.K.
The mains lead of this product is fitted with a non-rewirea le (moulded) plug incorpo-
rating a 3A fuse. Should the fuse need to e replaced, a BSI or ASTA approved BS 1362
fuse marked or and of the same rating as a ove, which is also indicated on the pin
face of the plug, must e used.
Always refit the fuse cover after replacing the fuse. Never use the plug without the fuse
cover fitted.
In the unlikely event of the socket outlet in your home not eing compati le with the
plug supplied, cut off the mains plug and fit an appropriate type.
DANGER:
The fuse from the cut-off plug should e removed and the cut-off plug destroyed
immediately and disposed of in a safe manner.
Under no circumstances should the cut-off plug e inserted elsewhere into a 3A socket
outlet, as a serious electric shock may occur.
To fit an appropriate plug to the mains lead, follow the instructions elow:
IMPORTANT:
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green-and-yellow: Earth
Blue: Neutral
Brown: Live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this apparatus may not correspond with
the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
lThe wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must e connected to the terminal in the
plug which is marked y the letter E or y the safety earth sym ol or coloured green
or green-and-yellow.
lThe wire which is coloured lue must e connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter N or coloured lack.
lThe wire which is coloured rown must e connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter L or coloured red.
IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.

Usage Notice



 Do not look into the lens. The bright light may hurt
your eyes.
 To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not
expose this product to rain or moisture.
 Please do not open or disassemble the product as this
may cause electric shock.
 This product will detect the life of the lamp itself.
Please be sure to change the lamp when it shows
warning messages.
 Before switching off the product, please keep the
cooling fan running for a few minutes.
 When connecting the projector to computer, please turn
on the projector first.
 To reduce the risk of injury to the eyes, do not look
directly into the laser light on the remote control and do
not point the laser light into anyone s eyes. This remote
control is equipped with a Class II laser that emits
radiation.
 When the lamp reaches the end of its life, it will burn
out and may make a loud popping sound. If this
happens, the projector will not turn back on until the
lamp module has been replaced. To replace the lamp,
please contact Sharp Authorized Projector Dealer or
Service Center.
 Do not connect any cable longer than 3 meter.

Do:
vTurn off the product before cleaning.
vUse a soft cloth moistened with mild detergent to clean the
display housing.
vDisconnect the power plug from AC outlet if the product is not
being used for a long period of time.
Dont:
vBlock the slots and openings on the unit provided for
ventilation.
vUse abrasive cleaners, waxes or solvents to clean the unit.
vUse under the following conditions:
- Extremely hot, cold or humid environment.
- In areas susceptible to excessive dust and dirt.
- Near any appliance generating a strong magnetic field.
- Place in direct sunlight.
- Allow at least 20cm of space between the exhaust vent and
the nearest wall or obstruction.

Important Safeguards
Be sure to read the following safeguards when setting up
your projector.
Caution concerning the setup of the
projector.
nFor minimal servicing and to maintain high
image quality, SHARP recommends that this
projector be installed in an area free from
humidity, dust and cigarette smoke When the
projector is subjected to these environments, the
lens must be cleaned more often As long as the
projector is regularly cleaned, use in these
environments will not reduce the overall
operation life of the unit Internal cleaning
should only be performed by a Sharp
Authorized Projector Dealer or Service Center
Do not set up the projector in places
exposed to direct sunlight or bright light.
nPosition the screen so that it is not in direct
sunlight or room light Light falling directly on
the screen washes out the colors, making
viewing difficult Close the curtains and dim
the lights when setting up the screen in a
sunny or bright room
The projector may be safely tilted to a
maximum angle of ± 2 degrees.
nPlacement should be within ±12 degrees of
horizontal
Do not subject the projector to hard
impact and/or vibration.
nTake care with the lens so as not to hit or
damage the surface of the lens
Rest your eyes occasionally.
nContinuously watching the screen for long
hours will cause eye strain Be sure to
occasionally rest your eyes
Avoid locations with extremes of
temperature.
nThe operating temperature of the projector is
from 41oF~95oF (+5oC~ +35oC)
nThe storage temperature of the projector is from
-4oF~140oF (-20oC~ +60oC)
Do not block the exhaust and intake
vents.
nAllow at least 7 7/8 inches (20cm) of space
between the exhaust vent and the nearest wall
or obstruction
nBe sure that the intake vent and the exhaust
vent are not obstructed
nIf the cooling fan becomes obstructed, a
protection circuit will automatically turn off the
projector This does not indicate a malfunction
Remove the projector power cord from the wall
outlet and wait at least 10 minutes Place the
projector where the intake and exhaust vents
are not blocked, plug the power cord back in
and turn on the projector This will return the
projector to the normal operating condition
Caution regarding transportation of the
projector.
nWhen transporting the projector, be sure not to
subject it to hard impact and/or vibration, as
this can result in damage Take extra care with
the lens Before moving the projector, be sure to
unplug the power cord from the wall outlet,
and disconnect any other cables connected to it
Other connected equipment
nWhen connecting a computer or other audio-
visual equipment to the projector, make the
connections AFTER turning off the projector
and the equipment to be connected
nPlease read the operation manuals of the
projector and the equipment to be connected for
instructions on how to make the connections
Using the projector in other countries
nThe power supply voltage and the shape of the
plug may vary depending on the region or
country you are using the projector in When
using the projector overseas, be sure to use an
appropriate power cord for the country you are
in

- Remove the lens cap.
. Ensure that the power cord and signal cable are securely
connected.
/ Turn on the lamp by pressing Power/Standby button on
the control panel. 
The startup screen will be displayed for 20 seconds and the
Power/Standby indicator will light solid green.
0 Turn on your source (computer, notebook, video player,
etc...) The projector will detect your source automatically.

lamp.
. After pressing the Power/Standby button, you will see a
message Power off the lamp? on the on-screen display.
Press the Power/Standby button again to confirm. Other
wise the message will disappear after 5 seconds.
/ Power/Standby indicator flashes red for about 2 minutes.
The projector will automatically shut itself down.
0 Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet and
the projector.
