S.I.R.I. S.r.l.guaranteesallmachineparts,andwillreplaceanyofthe
samewhichprovedefectiveduetofaultsinmanufacturingmethodsor
materials,for12monthsfromthedateofpurchase.
Duringsaidperiodoftime,alltransportcostswillbeatthepurchaser’s
expense.S.I.R.I.willacceptgoodswithpre-paidcarriageonly.
Servicescoveredbytheguaranteewillonlybepossibleifthemachine
is accompanied by the guarantee certicate, if the machine has not
been tampered with, repaired by unauthorised persons or damaged
duetoimproperuse.
Thisguaranteedoes not coverpartssubject to wearduringroutine
applications.

Ourcomplimentsonyourpurchaseofourelectricalmixer“Sirimix”Art.13.
The“Sirimix”wasdevelopedtoensurethatmaximumreliabilityandfunctionaleffeciency
willbedeliveredovertime.
Thepresentmanualcontainsinportantadviceasregardssettingupthemachineonsite,as
wellasfullinformationonspareparts,cleaningandmaintenance.
Thismuchsaid,itisessentialthattheinstallerandtheusershouldbesuitablyexperienced
andknowledgeableintheuseandworkingsofthemachine.
Itissimilarlyessentialthattheoperatorreadcarefullyandadherescrupulouslytoalldirec-
tionsgiveninthemanual,relativebothtooperatingprocedures andtoroutineandmajor
servicingactivities.
Consequently,theOperationandMaintenancemanualshould be thought of as part of the
machine and kept handy at all times for ready reference whenever needed: indeed the manual
must stay with the machine from initial purchase through to nal destruction.

5.1 BUCKET WITH WHEELS
The“SiriMix”comeswithabuckettobeplacedontothesupporttable(Pos.8;Fig.3).
Onrequest,abucketwithwheelsmaybesupplied,enablingtheusertotransportthemixture
withoutliftingthebucket.
5.2 INSTALLING THE BUCKET WITH WHEELS
Toreplacethebucketnormallysuppliedwiththebucketwithwheels,simplyunscrewthe
lockingscrewsofthebucketsupportandplacethenewpailunderthemachine(Fig.10).

4.4 CLEANING THE MACHINE
All the following operations must be carried out with the machine switched off and
disconnectedfrompowersupply
Tograntsmoothfunctioningofthemachineovertime,keeptothefollowinginstructionswhen
workhasbeencompleted:
1-Thourouglyemptythebucket;
2-Carefullycleanthepaddleandthebucket,totakeawayanyresidualmatterthatonce
driedcouldkeepthepaddlefromturning,whenresetintomotion.
Do not immerse the machine into water.
When washing the machine, take care the water is never jetted at directly on to
the motor.
PROLONGED IDLENESS:
Checktheintegrity ofelectricalcables;
Placethemachineintothecartonbox.
4.5 PACKING THE MACHINE
Beforepackingthemachinefortransport,someoperationsmustbeperformed:
Disconnectthemachinefromthepowersupply;
Carryouttheoperationsdescribedatpoint4.4;
Disconnecttheleverontheleftsideofthemachine(Fig.9)andlowerthepaddleuntilthe
levergetsconnectedinthelowestposition.Makecertainthepipeontherightsideofthe
machineblocksthehandleofthebucket(Fig.8);
Liftthemixer(NB.atleasttwopeoplearerequired);
Placeitintothesuppliedcartonbox.

1.2 INTENDED USE
The“SiriMix”isauniversalmixersuppliedwith40lt.capacitybucketandmotorwithgear
reducer making the paddle revolve and thus mixing tile adhesives, cement, paints and
epoxiesatbest.
Developedtomeetthetilelayer’severyneed,the“SiriMix” comeswithabucketcapable
ofcontainingawholegluesackandwithwheelsallowinganeasiertransportduringlaying
operations.
Themachineisespeciallydesignedfortheprofessional,thoughmaybeusedalsobypersons
withexperienceinthetilecuttingeldorin activitiesonthebuildingsites.
PROTECTION DEVICES
Thepaddleisthesinglemovingcomponentofthemachineanditmustbesetintomotion
onlywheninsidethebucket,andprotectedfromtheriskofcontactwithanyexternalbody.
Nospecialprotectiondeviceisthereforeneeded.
Noearprotectorsneednottobeworn,sincethenoiseemmisionlevelisverylow.
ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
The“SiriMix”isendowedwithacut-outswitchwithalowvoltagesolenoid(Fig.5)sothatinthe
eventofamomentarypowerlosstheswitchwillrevertautomaticallytothe“0”position.Once
thepowerisrestored, the“I”buttonmustbepressedtosetthemachineintomotionagain.
Similarly,theswitchcontactwillbreakintheeventofthemixerbeingoverloadedtotheextent
thatthemotorcouldoverheatseriouslyandburnout.
The“SiriMix”issuppliedwithamicroswitchmakingthemotorstallwhenthepaddle
isliftedoveragivenlevel, sothatthenowunprotectedpaddlecannotcatchonclothesor
anyotherexternalbody.

1.3 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE
The“SiriMix”isanelectricalmixerespeciallydesignedtoallowprofessionaloperators to
mixmostbuildingmaterials.
Themachinecomprisesthefollowingmainparts(Fig.2)

CAUTION: All routine and major servicing operations must be performed with the
machine disconnected from the power supply.
4.1 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Theusermustcarryoutroutinemainenanceoperations(cleaningandlubrication)andcheck
theintegrityofthemachine’sworkingpartsatleastonceaweek.
Alimitednumberofoperationsonlycanbeperformedbytheuser:
Cleaningallpartsofthemachine,takingespeciallycaretothecleaningofthebucketand
thepaddlefromanyglueresiduesoranyothermaterialwhichmaycausescalestoform;
Checkingthestateofallelectricalcables.
CAUTION:Neverstartupthemachinebeforepositioningthebucketproperly.
NB:Alwaysreplacedamagedcableswithoriginalspareparts.
Neverperformmendingoperationswithjointsorinsulatingtape.
Alloftheseoperationsmustbecarriedoutinstrictaccordancewiththedirectionsonsafety
andprocedurescontainedinthepresentmanual.
Noothergeneralmaintenanceisrequiredbeyondthepossiblereplacementsofpartsthat
maybecomedamagedduringnormaluse;thisworkmustbeentrustedonlytoskilledtters
approvedbytheS.I.R.I.company.
4.2 MAJOR SERVICING
Inadditiontoweeklyroutinemaintenance,the“SiriMix”willrequiresomeservicingoperations,
typicallywhenworkinghasbeencompletedonsite,andespeciallyiftheequipmentisto
remainidleforanextendedperiod.Servicinginvolves:
Cleaningallpartsofthemachine(seeprevioussection);
Carefullubricationofallmovingpartsthatmayhavehadlengthyexposuretodampand
dirtyconditions;
Replacingthepaddle,ifdamagedorworn-out;
Packingintothecartonboxfortransport.
4.3 REPLACING THE PADDLE
Before performing the following operations, make certain the machine has been
disconnected from the power panel
Followthegiveninstructionstoreplaceadamagedorworn-outpaddle:
Liftthesupportforgearreducertothesecondposition(3.4,point2);
Removethebucket;
Lockthenutofthethreadedpinprotrudingfromthegearreducer;
Unscrewthepaddleclockwise;
Replacewithanoriginalsparepart;
Screwthenewpaddlecounterclockwise.

3.3 ADJUSTING THE MACHINE
The“SiriMix”leavesthefactoryfullytested;theuserhasnottoperformanyadjustments
orxingoperations,exceptforinstallingthebucketwithwheels(optionalextra)asdescri-
bedinsection5.5.
3.4 OPERATING PROCEDURES
Tocarryoutanyoperationswiththe“SiriMix”,havinginstalleditfollowingthegivenin-
structions,theuserhastoproceedasfollows:
1-Inserttheplugintothepowersocket;
2-Liftthepaddletothesecondposition,disconnectingtheleverontheleftsideofthe
machine(Fig.9);
3-Pourtheamountofwaterasindicatedonthegluesackintothebucket;
4-Pourthecontentsofasackofglueintothebucket;
5-Disconnectthepaddleasatpoint2andlowerituntilthelevergetsconnectedinthe
lowestposition.Checkthatthepipeontherightsideofthemachineblocksthehandleof
thebucket(Fig.8);
6-Pressthebutton“I”oftheswitchtosetthepaddleintomotion;
7-Checkthatthemxturehasreachedthedesiredconsistency(otherwiseaddwateror
gluethroughtheslitsonthebucketcap);
8-Reverttheswitchtothe“0”position,lettingthepaddlestopturning;
9-Repeattheoperationatpoint2tousethemixture;
Whenthemixtureinsidethepailisnished,repeatalloperationsfrompoint1toperforma
furtherworkingcycle.
NB:whenoperating:
CAUTION:Onepersononlymustoperatethemachine.
Nobodyotherthantheusershouldbeallowedinthespaceimmediatelysurrounding
themachinewhileworking.
CAUTION:Dailycheckpowercablesofthemachines.
Makecertaintheoperatorisalwaysfreefromobstacles
Any adjustments must be carried out with the machine switched off and disconnected
from the power supply.
Donotsubjectthemotortoseverestressesduetoexcessivellingofthebucket,
incorrectdilutionoftheglueorimproperuseofthemachine.

inStallation
3.1 TRANSPORT
Tofacilitatetransportationthemachineispackedandstoredinsideastrongcardboardbox
toprotectitfrompossibleimpacts.
Whenrepositioningonsite,keeptothefollowinginstructions:
1-Disconnectthemachinefromthepowersupply.
2-Gripthehandleonthesideoppositetotheoperator.
3-Liftthemachineonthefrontwheelsandpositionatwill.
CAUTION
Do not move the machine before disconnecting the power supply, pressing the “0”
button of the switch and removing the plug from the panel socket.
3.2 INSTALLATION
CAUTION
It is the user’s responsability to ensure that installation is
carried out in compliance with local regulations
The machine must be installed by a skilled person who has
read carefully and understood the information given in the
present manual.
All directions given concerning installation of the
machine must be followed with care.
For any doubts regarding installation, contact
the maker without delay.
Therearecertainfundamentalrulestobeobservedwheninstallingthemachine:
Firstlytwopeoplearerequiredtoremovethemachinefromthecartonbox.
Themachinemustthenbepositionedonaatsurface,makingcertainthatthereissufcient
roomonallsidesbothfornormalfreedomofmovementandformixingoperations.
Alwayscheckthatthelinevoltageatthepanelisthesameastheratedvoltagegiven
onthemotordataplate.
Neverconnectthemachinetoapowersupplythatisnotproperlyearthed.Thiscould
resultinaSEVERE AND POTENTIALLY FATAL ELECTRIC SHOCK.
Neverusethemachineonanysurfacethatisnotlevel.Operatingthemixerinsuch
conditionscanbeverydangerous.

1.4 IMPROPER USE OF THE MACHINE
CAUTION:Anyservicingoperationmustbecarriedoutwith the machine either switched
off or isolated from the power supply
CAUTION:Setthemachineintomotiononlyafterhavingcorrectlypositionedthebucket.
Themachinemustbeemployedonlyformixingmaterialsofthekindreferredtoinparagraph
1.1;anyimproperusemayshortenthelifeofthemachineandjeopardizeitssmoothfunctioning.
Themixerpresentsnoothercounterindications.
1.5 SAFETY DEVICES AND GUARDS
The“SiriMix”isequippedwithasinglesafetydevice,thecap(Fig.3;Pos.4):oncethemachi-
neisstartedupitcoversthebucketsotoavoidtheriskofcontactwiththemovingpaddle.
1.6 LIST OF CONTROLS
The“Sirimix”isextremelysimpleasregardscontrols.
Itcomeswithaself-disconnectingswitchsupplyingpowertothemotorwhenintheposition
“I”,thuslettingthepaddlerevolving.Themotorisstoppedsimplybypressingthe“0”button
(Fig.5).
Asafetymicroswitchisalsosupplied,allowingthemotortoturnonlyoncethepaddlehas
beencompletely loweredintothebucket.
Itisvitalthatthecontrolsarenevertemperedwith.
All maintenance operations must be carried out with the machine switched off or
isolated from the power supply.
Accesstotheoperatingcontrolsmustberestrictedexclusivelytoauthorisedpersons.
Theoperatormustensurethatallguardsandthatallsafetydevicesareintheirproperplace
andoperational.
1.6.1 DESCRIPTION OF CONTROLS
Themainswitchperformsadualfunction,protectingtheoperatorintheeventofamomentary
powerlossbybreakingthecircuitandpreventinganuncontrolledrestart(cut-outfunction),
and protecting the motor from overheating and burning out when subjected to a severe
overload:thismeansinpracticethatifthepaddlehappenstobecomestuckandpreventthe
motorfromturning,theswitchwillopenautomatically.
Theswitchisoperatedasfollows:
-Pressingthe“I”button,powerissuppliedtothemotorcircuit(Fig.5);
-Pressingthe“0”button,themotorcircuitisisolatedfromthepowersupply.

Nevermakealterationstothemachineoritsmainparts.AlterationarepermittedintheS.I.R.I.workshopsonly.
Thisruledoesnotapplytoadjustmentswhichprovenecessaryduringoperativelifeofthemachine.
Theseoperationsmust,however,beperformedbyauthorisedpersonsonly.
Any adjustments or operations involving the replacement of worn out mechanical parts must
be carried out with the machine disconnected from the power supply.

General noteS on Safety
2.1 GENERAL POINTS
Any repair or servicing operations must be carried out with the machine switched off and
disconnected from the power supply.
Do not start up the machine before installing the bucket and lowering the motor.
Readcerfullythroughthemanualbeforeerecting,startingandoperatingthemachine,andbefore
servicingoradjustinganypartoftheequipment.
Donotallowunauthorisedpersonstoworkonthemachine.
Do not wear rings, wrist watches, jewellery, or any other clothing (baggy of loose tting,
unzipped, unbuttoned or torn) that could catch on moving parts; hair should also be gathered
and tied if particularly long.
Donotoccupyorencumbertheoperatingareaaroundthemachine.
Neverattempttostartthemachinewhenaffectedbytechnicalproblems.
Makecertainthatanyconditionposingapossiblethreattosafetyiseliminatedbeforeusingthemachine.
Reportanyirregularitiesinoperationtositemanagersorappointedsupervisors.
Makecertainthatallguardsandotherprotectivepartsareproperlyinplaceandthatallsafetydevices
areinstalledandoperational.
Observeproceduresandinformationgiveninthemanualregardingmaintenanceandcustomerservice.
