1.TurntheINPUT1,2,and3controlsfullycounter-clockwise.2.SettheMIC/LINEswitch.IfamicrophonewillbeconnecteddirectlytoINPUT1,settheMIC/LINEposition(disengaged).TheMICLEDwillnotilluminatewhenpoweristurnedon.Ifamixer,CDplayer,cassettetape,orelectronicmusicalinstrument(the"source")willbeconnecteddirectlytoINPUT1,settheMIC/LINEswitchtotheLINEposition(disengaged).TheMICLEDwillnotilluminatewhenpoweristurnedon.3.SettheEQHFandLFcontrolstotheircenterdetentedposition.4.Plugthepowercableintoaproperlygrounded3-wireACpower.5.PlugtheXLRcablefromthemixerormicrophoneintotheINPUT1connector.6.Connectunbalancedsources(ifused)totheLINE2andLINE3inputconnectors.7.POWERUPPROCEDUREFirst,switchonthepowertothemixer,audiosources,ormusicalinstrumentsthatarefeedingyourSK-6PNext,turnonthepowerswitch(thefrontpanelpowerindicatorwillilluminate).Reversethisprocesswhenshuttingdownyoursystem.8.SETVOLUMEIfyouareusinganaudiomixingconsole,refertothemanufacturer'sinstructionstoproperlysetgainstructure.Turnupyoursourcestothelevelthatwillbeusedinperformanceandtalk,singorplayintothesystem.BringtheINPUT1controlup(clockwise)untilthedesiredvolumehasbeenreached.Ifyouareusingamicrophone,turntheINPUT1controlupslowlytoavoidfeedback.IfyouareusingtheINPUT2andINPUT3inputs,bringtheINPUT2controlsupuntilthedesiredvolumehasbeenreached.9.CHECKTHEPEAKLEDThePEAKindicatorflasheswhentheloudspeaker'son-boardamplifierareapproachingmaximumoutput.Occasionalflashesarenormalforveryloudoperation,However,ifthePEAKLEDstaysilluminated,thesoundmaybedistortedanditisanindicationthatmorespeakersoralowerperformancevolumemayberequiredforyourspecificapplication.SK-6P QUICKSTART

INPUT1ThisbalancedinputacceptsastandardXLR(female)connector.Abroadrangeofsignals(-44dButo+20dBunominal)frommicropho-nes,audiomixingconsoles,andelectronicmusicalinstrumentsmay-beconnectedhere.Whenusingasingleaudioinputtothespeaker,thisistheinputtouse.ThesensitivityofthisinputiscontrolledbytheMIC/LINESWITCHandtheINPUT1rotarycontrol.INPUT2&INPUT3These1/4"phonejacksareintendedforusewithaudiodevicesinc-ludingcassettetape,CDMP3players,computersound-cardoutputs,electronickeyboards,andelectric/acousticmusicalinstruments.INPUT2andINPUT3arebalanced(TRS)butwillacceptunbalancedinputsiscontrolledbytheINPUT2andINPUT3rotarycontrols.OUTThisXLR(male)outputconnectorworkswiththeMIX/LOOPSWITCHtoprovideamethodofsendingaudiofromyourSK-6P.Switches
MIC/LINETheMIC/LINEswitcheffectsonlyINPUT1.Itselectsbetweentwosensitivityranges.ThisswitchisusedtomatchtheinputsensitivityoftheSK-6PwiththeoutputlevelofthedeviceconnectedtoINPUT1.DepressingtheMIC/LINEswitchselectsMIC(mostsensitive).CAUTION:Beforeadjustingthisswitch,becertaintorotatetheINPUT1controlfullycounter-clockwise.AftertheMIC/LINEswitchhasbeenadjusted,slowlyrotatetheINPUT1controlclock-wiseuntilthedesiredvolumehasbeenreached.UsetheMICposition(depressed)whenamicrophoneisconnectedtoINPUT1.UsetheLINEposition(disengaged)whenalinelevelsourcesuchasanaudiomixingconsole,audioplaybackdevice,orelectronicmusicalinstrumentisconnectedtoINPUT1.SK-6P

Thisswitchselectsthesourceofthesignal,fortheOUTconnector.CAUTION: Beforeadjustingthisswitch,becertaintosettheinputlevelcontrolofanyequipmentconnectedtothisoutputtoitsminimumgain(leastsensitive)setting.Inthedisengagedposition,onlythesignalfromtheINPUT1connectorisrouteddirectlytotheOUTconnector.Chang-ingtheothersettingsontheaudiopanelwillnoteffecttheOUTsignal.TheINPUT2andINPUT3inputswillnotbepresentattheOUTconnector.UsethissettingwhenyouwanttofeedmultipleSK-6Ppoweredspeakersthesamesignal.InTheMIXposition(depressed),apost-EQblendofallinputstothespeaker(INPUT1,2,and3)willbesenttotheOUTconnector,AnychangestoinputlevelsettingsorEQwillaffecttheOUTsignal,SeetheSYSTEMEXAMPLESsectionfordetailsonhowthismodemaybeused.INPUT 1
AdjuststhelevelofINPUT1.UsethiscontroltomatchtheinputsensitivityoftheSK-6Ptotheoutputlevelofthemixer,microphone,orinstrumentconnectedtoINPUT1.Itisacommonmisconceptionthatthiscontrolchangesthepowerofasystem.YourSK-6PwillproduceitsratedoutputpowernomatterwherethiscontrolisJset.TheINPUT1controlDetermineshowmuchsignalisrequiredattheinputinordertodrivethesystemtofulloutput.INPUT 2 & INPUT 3

ThePEAKLED(LightEmittingDiode)illuminatestoindicatethatthesystemisapproachingclipping.Thethresholdforthislightisactuallyabout2dBbelowclipping.Anoccasionalflickeringofthislightontheloudestpeaksisacceptable.IfthisLEDisonformorethanthedurationofbriefdynamicpeaks,thesystemisbeingoverdriven.Continuouslyover-drivingthesystemwillresultinunpleasantandfatiguingdistortionandmayleadtoprematurefailureofyourspeakersystem.IfthePEAKLEDilluminatesexcessively:ReduceINPUT1,2,and3.Reducetheoutputlevelofthemixer,musicalinstrument,orothersourceconnectedtothespeaker.IfthereisagreatdealofLFEQorHFEQboost,returnthecontrolstothe"flat"(centered)position.SIGNAL

YourSK-6Pwilltypicallybesetatthefactorytoaccommodatethepowermainsvoltageinyourarea.BeforeyousetupyourSK-6Pthefirsttimeitisagoodideatoverifythatthesettingoftheselectorisappropriateforthepowerinyourarea.Intheeventthatyoudoneedtochangethevoltage:MakesurethatthespeakerispoweredoffandtheACisdisconnectedfromthespeaker..DirectlybelowthemaleIECconnectoronthespeakerisavoltageselector.Breakthefactory-appliedsealandslidetheswitchtotheappropriatesetting.Setthevoltageselectorswitchtothe115Vor230Vsettingasrequiredforyourarea.Afterhavingreconfirmedthatthecorrectvoltageisselected,reconnecttheAC(IECconnector)andpowertheunitup.DONOTUNDERANYCIRCUMSTANCESOPERATETHEUNITWITHTHEWRONGVOLTAGESELECTED.DOINGSOMAYRESULTINSERIOUSDAMAGETOYOURSPEAKERSYSTEMWHICHWILLNOTBECOVEREDBYWARRANTY.SK-6P
