When to set up your Sky Hub?
An Openreach engineer will visit your
home on the activation date to install an
Openreach modem to your master phone
socket. Once this has been installed you
can set up your Sky Hub.
OR
If you’re transferring your fibre optic
broadband service and already have
an Openreach modem in your property
you won’t need an Openreach engineer
to complete your connection. On the
activation date, your existing fibre optic
broadband service will stop working and
you can set up your Sky Hub.
You’ll find this on the top of your
Sky Hub packaging. Your Sky Fibre will not
be up and running until then.
5
Please note, your Sky Broadband
can go live anytime up to midnight
on your activation date.

Why a wired connection?
If your computer will always be next to your
Sky Hub, then you may want to set up a wired
Sky Fibre connection.
Ease of set up – a wired connection is much
easier to set up. All you need to do is simply
plug one end of the black Ethernet cable into
the back of your Sky Hub and the other end
into your computer.
Reliability and speed – your computer will
always be connected, without interference
from other electrical devices which will give you
a faster speed than with a wireless connection,
so ideal if you are downloading large files.
