bystanders.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
•Do not SlingBoard in areas where skateboarding is illegal, only SlingBoard in safe open areas like
parks or trails where skateboarding is permitted.
•Always wear protective gear when SlingBoarding. This includes a well fitted helmet, wrist guards, knee
pads, elbow pads, and athletic sneakers. Be sure to wear a helmet that meets or exceeds the safety
standards of the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and does not interfere with your
movement, vision, or hearing when riding.
•For your safety, do not SlingBoard if you are pregnant.
•The SlingStick should always remain out to your side, at least one foot out from the edge of the
SlingBoard. Keep the SlingStick out that distance from the SlingBoard to minimize any chance of it
hitting the board or wheels, which could cause an abrupt stop and serious injury.
•SlingBoarding is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
•Inspect your SlingBoard and SlingStick before every ride; look for problems that may need repair. Get
professional help if needed to repair any damaged parts before you ride to prevent injury.
•Always survey the area before you SlingBoard, inspecting surfaces for potholes, rocks, and other
debris. Avoid any areas where those are found to avoid injury.
•Never SlingBoard in the dark, or in wet slippery conditions.
•SlingBoard on smooth even surfaces to maintain the most control, pavement is optimal.
•Never ride with more than one person on a SlingBoard.
•Do not SlingBoard over ramps, as doing so may cause serious injury.

SET UP
Tools Required:
-Flat head screwdriver
-Phillips head screwdriver
-Tape measure
1. Carefully remove the SlingStick from the box, do note that it ships to you with the inside and outside
tubes disconnected from each other so hold each tube (the black and chrome tubes) when you lift it
out. Locate the Post Bolt (the two sided bolt) that was in the parts bag with these instructions. All parts
are displayed and labeled in the Parts Diagram and List at the back of these instructions for your
reference. Lay the SlingStick down on a soft surface, and separate the two sides of the Post Bolt. Next
locate the center hole in the SlingStick just below the decal. Slowly slide the chrome inside tube
outward from the black outside tube, do this until you can see the red hole inside aligned with that
center hole. If you are having difficulty locating the red hole you may twist the inside chrome tube just
slightly as you slide it out to help. The chrome tube will extend out 19 ¾” when the red hole is aligned.
Once aligned push the long end of the Post Bolt into that hole and through the center section. Make
sure that it is seated flush in the hole and not tilted.
2. Next turn the SlingStick and thread the short end of the Post Bolt into the long end through the hole in
the other side. Use a flat head screw driver to tighten it down snug. Your SlingStick is now ready to
operate in the “POWER RESPONSE” mode.

Page 5of 21
3. Hold your SlingStick in the position you would paddle in to determine if the Handle is set in the position
that is most comfortable of you. If so, you may move on to step 5 in these instructions. If not, it is easy
to turn the Handle. Use a Phillips head screw driver to back out the two screws just below the Handle.
4. Once those screws have been removed slide the Handle out of the outside tube, turn it 90 degrees then
slide it back in. Next align the screw holes and insert the screws back into those holes. Tighten the
screws back in with the screwdriver until snug.
5. To change your SlingStick to the “LOCKED” mode you will need to insert the included Detent Pin.
Keep your Detent Pin with you while you
SlingBoarding to enable this option, to do that you may
simply keep it in your pocket or secure it to the
SlingStick using the included Velcro tie. If you
choose to keep it on the SlingStick you may secure
it to the SlingStick as shown to keep it in place and
quiet during use. Locate the Detent Pin in the bag
these instructions came in.

Page 6of 21
CHANGING TO “LOCKED” MODE
1. To change your SlingStick from the “POWER RESPONSE” mode to the “LOCKED MODE” locate the
included Detent Pin. Locate the locking hole in the black outside tube of the SlingStick which is 9” from
the bottom of that tube. Stand over the SlingStick and wedge it in underneath your arm, pinching it in
between your arm and body and gripping it with that hand. Slowly bend over compressing the outside
tube down over the inside tube, watching the locking hole as you do this. Hold the Detent Pin with your
free hand and once you see the locking hole aligned in the inside tube through the outside tube push
the Detent Pin into it. Those holes will align when the outside tube has compressed down to expose 1’
of the inside tube. Push the Detent Pin completely through the SlingStick so that ball in the Pin has
fully emerged through the far side.
2. You may use the Velcro tie on the Detent Pin to secure the Pin ring so that it does not rattle during use.
To do so secure it to the SlingStick as shown here.

HOW TO USE THE SLINGSTICK
1. Center yourself on your SlingBoard and stand up straight, then position your feet about shoulder width apart
and how they feel the most comfortable on board. This may be in the forward-facing position (Stand Up Paddle
Boarding style) or in the turned position (traditional skateboarding / surfing style). If you start in the turned
position, then whichever side is forward will be the hand with which you will grip the top handle of the
SlingStick with. Your other hand will grip the middle of the SlingStick in line with your chest. If you start in the
forward-facing position you may use either hand in either position, whichever feels most comfortable.
2. The SlingStick should always remain out to your side, at least one foot out from the edge of the SlingBoard. It’s
important to always keep the SlingStick out that distance from the SlingBoard to minimize any chance of it
hitting the board or wheels. If the SlingStick contacts the SlingBoard or wheels, there is a risk of causing an
abrupt stop, which could lead to serious injury.
Practice this slowly until you are very confident that you can ride consistently with the SlingStick safely out to
the side. Once you have this confidence you may speed up.
3. Now lift the SlingStick up and swing it forward in a smooth controlled arc, extending both arms as far forward
as they can reach. Once there, push the SlingStick down to make contact with the pavement, push it in hard
then start pulling the SlingStick back toward you in a smooth stroke (just like you would in Stand-Up Paddle
Boarding). Once you get to the middle of the stroke where the SlingStick is aligned with your side you can let
the SlingStick do the work from there and stop pulling, then just let your forward momentum take you through
the back half of the stroke. As you do this lean into the SlingStick slightly and put your weight into it. It is very
important to keep the SlingStick in contact with the ground throughout the entire stroke as this will generate the
power. Once you get comfortable with this motion you may do it more effectively by bending your knees
slightly and crunching your core against the resistance of the SlingStick through the stroke. That will cause the
most compression in the SlingStick, the greatest return of power, and an excellent core workout!
4. Lift the SlingStick up at the back of the stroke and repeat. Once you feel comfortable with this motion you may
switch hands and move the SlingStick over to the other side your body, then repeat these steps. Switching
sides will create a better workout that develops both sides of the body more evenly.
5. If you would like to incorporate more leg muscles into your workout you may also kick-push like you would on a
conventional skateboard. This will change your center of balance so start off slowly incorporating your kick-
push, then build up more speed as you get comfortable with this change.
6. Take your time learning and enjoy the ride. Like any new exercise it will take some time and practice to perfect
it. Have fun and enjoy SlingBoarding!

CHANGING OR REPLACING THE POWER BAND
Tools Required:
-Phillips head screwdriver
-Flat head screwdriver
-5/32” Allen Key (Included)
1. The SlingStick comes loaded with a 10” Low Power band in it and it is recommended that first time
users start with that band. If you are an experienced user and would like to change to the included 6”
High Power band it is easy to do so. Locate the two Phillips flat head screws just under the Handle,
one on each side of the SlingStick. Remove both of those screws with a Phillips head screw driver.
Note how the handle is positioned in relation to the decal on side, aligned with it or turned. Then slide
the handle out to remove it.
2. Next locate the four (4) Foot Bolts securing the foot to the bottom of the Inside Tube. Use the 5/32”
Allen key to back the Foot Bolts out of the Foot Nuts on the other side of the Foot. Be sure to collect
and set aside the Foot Bolts, the Foot Nuts from the other side of the Foot and the four Nylon Foot
washers that are positioned on the Bolts between the Inside Tube and the Foot as they fall out of the
foot assembly.

Page 9of 21
3. Remove the Post Bolt in the center hole of the SlingStick with a flat head screwdriver.
4. Carefully turn the SlingStick over (covering the top with one hand) and let the Inside Tube slide out of
the Outside Tube.

5. Locate the two (2) Phillips Flat Head Screws at the top of the Inside Tube and remove them with the
Phillips head screwdriver.
6. Remove the Piston pin from the Lower Piston by pushing it through with a Phillips head screwdriver. If
you feel strong resistance when pushing it out turn the tube around to push out from the other side.

7. Next slide the black Piston assembly out of the top of the Inside Tube.
8. Hand unthread the Pistons at both ends of the Power Band. Replace or change out the Power Band if
needed by threading on a new or different band. Hand tighten both Pistons onto the new Powerband
until they are snug, but do not overtighten.

9. Hold the piston assembly up from the side so that the hole in the Lower Piston is visible. The hole in
the Lower Piston should be well aligned with the small hole in the side of the Upper Piston. If it is not,
unthread the Lower Piston just enough to align.
10. Next go back to the Inside Tube and identify the top end (that is the end with only two small holes in it,
the bottom end where the foot attaches has four larger holes). Slide the piston assembly down into the
top end of the Inside Tube, inserting the Lower Piston first.

11. Align the Upper piston by turning it from the exposed section at the top so that the holes in the Upper
Piston are well aligned with those at the top of the Inside Tube. Next push the Piston Pin back into the
Lower Piston with a Phillips head screwdriver. If you feel strong resistance when pushing it in turn the
tube around to push it in from the other side.
12. Push the Piston Pin in to center it best from side-to-side in the Lower Piston. Hold the tube sideways
so that you may see how well it is centered. You may push it in or out slightly to further center it once
in position.

13. Use the Phillips head screw driver to insert both Phillips Flat Head Screws back into the two holes at
the top of the Inside Tube, one goes in on each side locking the Upper Piston back into place inside.
14. Next slide the Inside Tube back down into the Outside Tube by inserting the bottom end of the Inside
Tube into the top end of the Outside Tube.

15. If the Inside Tube gets hung-up on the Lower Bushing in the Outside Tube and will not pass through it
then while holding both upward with the Lower Bushing down at the bottom, reach a finger into the
Outside Tube and push the leading edge of the Inside Tube inward and free of that bushing, that will
allow it to pass through.
16. Next you will reattach the Foot. Align the holes at the top of the Foot with the bottom holes in the Inside
Tube. Slide a Foot Bolt through the Foot from the side with the round holes (the other side has the hex
shaped holes to accept the Foot Nut), push it through one of the Nylon Foot Washers, then through the
Inside Tube, through another Nylon Foot Washer, then through the other side of the Foot. Next use one
hand to push a Foot Nut into the Foot from the hex shaped side hole so that it is fully recessed in the
Foot and hold it in there with some light pressure from your finger, then use your other hand to tighten
that Foot Bolt into the Foot Nut using the 5/32” Allen key. Tighten the bolt down until it is snug but do
not overtighten as it will warp the Foot posts inward. Then repeat this process for the other Foot Bolt.

17. Next locate the Handle and slide it back into the Outside Tube. Turn it so that it is positioned like it was
before removing it in relation to the SlingStick decal on the side. Then turn it slightly if needed to align
the holes in it with those at the top of the Outside Tube. Next insert the two Phillips Flat Head screws
back into the Handle through the holes at the top of the Outside Tube.
18. Finally replace the Post Bolt back into the center hole of the SlingStick just below the decal. The Power
Band has now been replaced or changed.

REPLACING THE FOOT PAD
Tools Required:
-5/32” Allen Key (Included)
1. Locate the six (6) Foot Bolts around the sides of the Foot and back them out with the 5/32” Allen Key.
Each Foot Bolt will have a Foot Bolt Washer on it, set all of these parts aside for reassembly.

2. Then pull the rubber Foot Pad down to remove it from the Foot.
3. Replace that Foot Pad by pushing a new one up into the bottom of the Foot, be sure to orient the pad
so that the rounded front edge of the Foot is aligned with the arrow pointing to the front of the Pad.
4. Set both down on a flat hard surface then push the Foot firmly down into the pad then give it a firm
press down on all four sides to ensure that it is well seated.
5. Finally replace the six (6) Foot Bolts by threading them back in with the 5/32” Allen key around all four
sides of the Pad. The Foot Pad has now been replaced.
