INSTALLATION
1. Loosen the wing nutsinthe arm clamps. Open the arm, adjusttheposition,then tighten thewing
nuts
2.Loosen the wing nutsinthe leg clamp.Insert the left and rightleg intothe clamp,adjustthe heightto
touchfloorfirmly,then tightenthewingnuts.
3. Loosen thewingnutsinthe clamp.Movethepadclampstoproperlocation,thentightenthewing
nuts
4. Loosen the wing nutsinthe clamp.Rotatethe pad installationL-Rod toproper position,andthen
tightenthe wing nuts
5. Loosen the wing nutsinthe clamp. Insert the cymbalinstallation rod toproper location, and then
tightenthe wing nuts

RotatetheDataknobtoselectanuserkit
you desire.Rotatethe knobclockwise toin-
crease thekit number andanticlockwiseto
decreasethekitnumber.
Thefactorysetting forall UserKitsisUni-
versalKit. You couldcall themeven if you
don tcreateyourownuserkit.Ofcourse,
you couldreplace it by editing.Pleasesee

assigned toeach pad which hasunitarystyleforperformance. All thekitsareforyour choice. Any

(2) Practice with Demo Song
Youmaypracticeyour ownperformance with
thedemosong.
Therearethreemodesforyourpractice:
FULL-When press thebutton, you will
hearcompletesong
DRUMONLY-When press the button,
youwillhear drumsoundonly.It helpsyouto
getideahowtoperformdrum.
DRUM MUTE-Whenpressthebutton,
youwillhearbackgroundmusicwithoutdrum
sound. Then,you can play drumsby yourself.
Press theMODE button repeatedlytochange
themode.
Tip: Volumeof thebackgroundmusicand
drum ofthedemosongisadjustable
separately. Please see ChapterSETUP for
moreinformation.
Thescreen willturnbacktothepreviouswin-
dowautomaticallyafter5seconds,orpress the
EXITbuttontoexitimmediately.
1. DEMO SONG
(1) Select and Play Demo Song
Thereare52demosongs built in.
PresstheSongbuttononcetoengagethedemo
songmode withthe indicator lighting. The dis-
playwillshow “AllDemo”.Pressthebutton
immediately,all demosongswillplay one by
one.Ifyoudon tselectsong,after3second the
first demosong numberandnamewill appear
on the display.The tempoand timesignatureof
the demosong will appearon the secondrowof
the display also.
Thetitleofthesongnumber sectioninthesec-
ond rowof the display is “DEMO”. Thedisplay
of itwillbe “All”thenthefirstdemonumber.
If youwanttoselectasong youdesire, rotate
the DATE knob tochoose asong.
Then pressthebutton tostartplay;the
buttonindicatorlightsup.
When selectsinglesong,it ll beplayed
repeatedly.
Whenthe demosongisplaying,press the button
againtotostop the playing, the indicator turns
off.

Song mode andturntothe Kit selection mode.
The SONGindicator turns off.
Or,you can simplypress theEXITbuttontostop
palying , exit the Demo/Song mode and turnto
theKitselection mode.

1.METRONOME
Press theCLICKbuttontosound themetro-
nomeanditsindicatorwilllight up.Pressthe
buttonagaintostopit.
Press the CLICK button twice tosetup the
metronomeandtheindicatorblinks.
(1) Time Signature Setting -Atfirst, you
couldsetthe timesignature.Thethecurrent
timesignaturewill blinkinthesecond rowof
the display. Rotatethe DATA knobtochange
thetimesignature.Availabletimesignatureis
1-8/2,1-8/4,1-8/8,1-8/16,Thedefaultsetting
is4/4.Press the ENTERbutton toconfirm you
settingandturntothe next parameterof the
metronome.
(2) Metronome Volume Setting - After press
theENTER buttontofinish thetimesignature
setting, thenext parametertosetupismetro-
nomevolume. Thedisplay willshow “Metro
Vol”and currentvolumeisblinking.Rotatethe
DATAknob tochange the volumeranged 0-
127,The defaultsetting is96.Press the
ENTER button toconfirm you settingand turn
tothenextparameterofthemetronome..
(3) Metronome Sound Setting - After press
theENTERbutton tofinishthevolumesetting,
thenextparametertosetup ismetronome
sound.The display will show “MetroSound”
andblinkingcurrentsound.Therearethree
typesof thesound - English, Chineseand
Percussion.ENGreferstoEnglish, CHN
referstoChinese,PRC referstoclick sound.
The default setting isPRC.RotatetheDATA
knob tochange the sound, Pressthe ENTER
buttontoconfirm yousettingand exitthe
metronomesetting.
You can pressthe EXITbutton inany step to
exit metronomesetting.
During thesetting,the metronomewill keep
sound.

Adrum kit consistsofdrum pads, cymbalspads andHi-Hatpedalphysically.
Theygeneratesoundindifferent way such asby striking headorrimofdrumpad,triggered by
striking cymbalbowor edge,pressing Hi-Hatpedal. We call thesource togeneratesound as Part.
Eachpart isidentified onthedisplay bytheiconwithmark.The icon referstopart of striking head
ofpad and cymbalisshownbelow. H.PDLreferstosoundgenerated by pressingthe Hi-Hat pedal.
HIHATreferstoOpen Hi-Hat sound generated by striking the Hi-Hat cymbal.
Alternativepartofthe sameinstrumentisshownbyextramarkundertheicon.For example,the
part generatingsoundby strikingtherimof Tom 1pad ismarkedbyan archunderthe TOM1icon.
Each part has multiparameterstocreateitscharacteristics such as voice, volume, reverbleveland
Panetc. ThedetaileddescriptionislistedInthetablebelow.
Theeditfeatureistoset parameterfor each part, partlyorfor all partsinakit.theEditfeature
makes itpossibletochange the currentlyselected drum kit setting. Inthisway, you maycreate
your owndrum kit andsave it as UserKit.
DRUMKIT EDIT
Theedit procedureisthesamefor everyparameter, Assigningvoice tothepartisoneof the most
importantfunction.Afteryouarefamiliarwiththeoperationofvoiceassignment; it ll beeasy toedit
otherparameters.The followingsection isthe editproceduretaking examplehowtochangevoice
forapad.
1. Selectkit forediting
Selectakitfor editinginthesameway explained inthe DRUMKITchapter. Thedisplayshowsthe

and rim2parts;crash and ride cymbalhas head
andedgeparts;Hi-Hathas openand closeetc.
Pressthebuttontwicetoselectalternativepart
ofthisinstrument.Please notethatthe snare
has3parts,press the SNAREbuttononce to
selectsnarehead,twice for rim1andtreblefor
rim2.The relevantmarkforalternativepartswill
appear.Pleaserefertotablebelow.
Whenapartisselected,theiconofthispart
blink;EDITiconwillstopblink.Inthisexample,
thepartselected isRim1of Snare.
Whenselectpart, the part namewill blink.You
mustpresstheENTERbuttontoconfirm your
partselection.

5.Edit theparameter
The currentcontentsofthisparameterwill blink.
Inthisexample,itisthe voice number.Rotate
the DATA knob tochange contentsofthe
parameter.Inthisexample,you ll changevoice
assigned toSnarerim1.Anyparameter hasits
ownrangetoset. Forexample,thereare418
voices can be selected toassigntoapart, but
onlysomecouldbe assignedtoparticular part.
Please see AppendixVOICE LIST for details.
Press theENTER button toconfirm yoursetting.
Then, it ll returntothe parameter selection op-
erationstage.
6. Edit anotherparameterorpart
Now,the parameter(the VOICEinthisexample)
editing for aselected part isfinished.Youmay
continue toeditotherparametersinthispart or
changeparttoedit.
(1) Edit other parameter in the current part
After youpresstheENTERbuttontofinishcur-
rentediting,it llturnbacktothe parameterse-
lectionstagewiththenextparameterblinking.
Press the ENTER button toeditthisparameter
orselectother parameterby rotatingthe DATA
knob.Then,editparametersinthe sameway
explained intheStep4- Step5above. Param-
eterscan be edited arelistedinthe tableinpage

Thedefault parameterisVOICE.

Select anotherpart toedit inthe samewayexplained inPage 14.The current parameter toedit will
keep nochange.It providesyoueasy method toeditthe sameparameter, e.g. voice,foreachpart.
Note: Thereisexception. Inthe CrossTalkedit procedure, presspad selectionbutton tochoose a
padgeneratingcross talkbadlyinstead ofchange part.

7.Completetheedit
Afterfinish all editing job forthe currentdrumkit,
nomattersingleormultiplepart/parameter,you
mayterminatetheedit.
PresstheEXITbutton, “Saveit?”.Then,you
have twochoices:
(1)Saveediteddrumkitasyourownuser
kit:
PresstheENTERbutton. “User Kit”withUser
kit numberblinking willappear. Rotatethe DATA
knob tochoosenumber, thenpressthe ENTER
buttontoconfirm.
Note: Thereare30built-inpresetUserKit.All
ofthemarethe sameasKit01 Standard.When
yousaveyourownUser Kit,itmustreplacethe
existing one.
If the saving issuccessful,it ll turntothe Kit
selectmode.The indicatorsofthe pad select
buttonand theEDITbutton willturnoff. TheEDIT
icon willdisappear. Theicon ofthe editedpart
will stopblink.
Thedisplayalways asks “Replace it”?.Press
the ENTER buttontoreplace existingone with
yournewediting.Press theEXITbutton then
change anothernumber.If you reallydon twant
tocoveranyexistingUserKit,pressthe EXIT
button innumberselection stage,andit willcover
the currentkit edited (referring tothe next sec-
tioninthispage)thenturntotheKitSelectmode.

TheUserKit setting isnonvolatileeventhe
powerturnsoff.
(2) Pressthe EXITbutton toexit the edit mode
andreturntothe KitSelectionmode withoutsav-
ingasUserkit.The indicatorsof thepad select
buttonand theEDITbutton willturnoff. TheEDIT
icon willdisappear. Theicon ofthe editedpart
will stopblink.
The edited resultswillcoverthe currentdrum
kitandactivateimmediately.
Whenthepower turnoff,the changesinthiskit
will reset.
Tip: Youmayresetthe kitchanges byReset
feature.Please see <SETUP>chapterinthis
