This unit is factory-set to the English language. Follow these instructions to change the
language of the TEK SERIES Handheld Device:
1. From the main menu, select SETTINGS > LANGUAGE.
2. Use the arrow keys to highlight the desired language.
3. Press the right arrow key to change the language.

The SportDOG Brand™TEK SERIES GPS Tracking System has been proven safe, comfortable
and effective for all dogs over 3.6 kg. Consistent, correct use of this product allows you to
track your dog from up to 11 km. The Handheld Device receives your location from its built-
in GPS antenna and receives location updates from the antenna mounted on the GPS Collar
to track the location of your dog.
IMPORTANT: The TEK SERIES GPS Tracking System has a range of up to 11 km. Depending
on the way you hold the Handheld Device, the maximum range may vary. For consistent
results at longer ranges, hold the Handheld Device in a vertical position away from your body
and above your head. Terrain, weather, vegetation, transmissions from other radio devices,
and other factors will affect the maximum range.

STEP :: 01
CHARGING THE BATTERIES
FIRST THINGS FIRST, the TEK SERIES GPS Tracking System needs its batteries charged
before you can use it. While your system is charging, read the entire Operating Guide
provided on the disc to become familiar with your TEK SERIES GPS Tracking System.
Note: Approximate battery life between charges is 20 hours, depending on the frequency of use.
TO CHARGE THE HANDHELD DEVICE:
1. Li the rubber cover protecting the Charging Jack.
2. Connect one of the charger connectors to the Charging Jack.
3. Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
4. Charge the Handheld Device for 2 hours. It is not harmful to let the unit charge more than
2 hours.
5. When charging is complete, indicated by a full green battery on the screen, replace the
rubber cover.
TO CHARGE THE GPS COLLAR:
1. Li the rubber cover protecting the Charging Jack located on the bottom of the GPS Collar
next to the ON/OFF button.
2. Connect one of the charger connectors to the Charging Jack.
3. Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
4. Charge the GPS Collar for 2 hours. It is not harmful to let the unit charge more than
2 hours.
5. When charging is complete, indicated by the GPS Indicator Light blinking green, replace
the rubber cover.

STEP :: 02
TURNING THE TEK SERIES COMPONENTS ON AND OFF
TO TURN THE HANDHELD DEVICE ON:
On the top of the unit, firmly press and release the ON/OFF button. The start-up screen
will display.
TO TURN THE HANDHELD DEVICE OFF:
Firmly press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display goes black.
TO TURN THE GPS COLLAR ON:
Press the ON/OFF button and release when the GPS Indicator Light comes on green. The GPS
Collar will beep 1 to 5 times indicating which channel the collar is on, and the GPS Indicator
Light will double blink every 3 seconds until GPS lock has been achieved. Once the GPS Collar
has a lock, the GPS Indicator Light will single blink every 3 seconds.
Note: To acquire GPS signal lock, go outdoors to an open area with a clear view of the sky. To
get a good quality GPS lock, it is important that you wait until you are outdoors before turning
on your Handheld Device and GPS Collar. The “WAITING FOR LOCK” message will display until a
good GPS lock is acquired.
TO TURN THE GPS COLLAR OFF:
Press and hold the ON/OFF button until the GPS Indicator Light comes on solid red and the
GPS Collar beeps for 2 seconds. To extend the battery life between charging cycles, turn off
the GPS Collar when it is not in use.

STEP :: 03
CALIBRATING THE COMPASS
Note: Always calibrate the compass outdoors. Hold the compass level and away from objects
that may generate magnetic fields, such as cars or buildings.
1. From the main menu, select COMPASS > CALIBRATE. The COMPASS screen appears.
2. Rotate the Handheld Device 2-3 times in all three dimensions as shown below. Rotate
until the black indicators are as close as possible to the center of the green zone. If
successful, your Handheld Device will beep and vibrate as well as display a message that
says “CALIBRATION DATA HAS BEEN UPDATED SUCCESSFULLY”.
Note: If you are unable to get the compass to automatically update your calibration data,
follow the remaining steps.
3. Rotate until the black indicators are as close as possible to the green zone and press the
Menu Selection Pad to continue.
4. At the prompt “DO YOU WANT TO SAVE THE NEW CALIBRATION DATA?” press the arrow
keys to select YES.
5. Press BACK (top-right button on the Handheld Device) to return to the main menu.
Note: To set your magnetic declination angle to avoid inaccurate compass readings, refer to your
Operating Guide.

PAIRING THE GPS COLLAR TO THE HANDHELD DEVICE
Your system will already be paired when you get it, but in the event you need to pair the
Handheld Device to the GPS Collar, follow the steps outlined in STEP 3 of your Operating Guide.

ADD YOUR DOG
The TEK SERIES GPS Tracking System allows you to track up to 12 dogs wearing GPS Collars.
Aer the collars have been paired to the Handheld Device, you must add the dogs to the system.
You must repeat this procedure below for each dog that you want to work with the system.
1. From the main menu, select SETTINGS > MY DOGS > ADD A DOG. A screen labeled
DOG nappears where nis the next available number of the dog.
2. To enter the dog’s name, select CHANGE NAME. A text entry screen displays. Select Clr
and press ENTER (bottom-right button on Handheld Device) to clear the name. Use the
arrow keys to select letters to enter a new name. Select to complete the new name.
3. Assign a collar to this dog by selecting COLLAR. Use the arrow keys to select the color
matching the desired collar from the previously paired collars.
4. Once a collar is assigned to the new dog, you are ready to track this dog. Press BACK
(top-right button on Handheld Device) to return to the main menu.
STEP :: 06
FIT THE GPS COLLAR
Please see page 2 of the TEK SERIES Operating Guide for Important
Safety Information.
Put the collar around your dog’s neck and adjust to find the proper fit, making sure the GPS
antenna is at the back of your dog’s neck for best reception. Fasten the collar so the fit is
snug; yet loose enough to allow one finger to fit between the strap and the dog’s neck. Fit is
important because a loose collar may cause inconsistent performance.
CONGRATULATIONS!
At this point, your TEK SERIES GPS Tracking System is ready for field use.

temperament or size/weight of your dog may not be suitable for this Product. Radio
Systems Corporation recommends that this Product is not used if your dog is aggressive
and accepts no liability for determining suitability in individual cases. If you are unsure
whether this Product is appropriate for your dog, please consult your veterinarian or
certified trainer prior to use. Proper use includes, without limitation, reviewing the entire
Operating Guide and any specific Caution statements.
3. No Unlawful or Prohibited Use
This Product is designed for use with dogs only. This dog tracking device is not intended
to harm, injure or provoke. Using this Product in a way that is not intended could result in
violation of Federal, State or local laws.
4. Limitation of Liability

for (i) any indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damage and/or (ii) any

BATTERY DISPOSAL
Please see page 2 of the TEK SERIES Operating Guide for Important

Separate collection of spent batteries is required in many regions; check the regulations in your
area before discarding spent batteries.
This system operates on two Li-Ion battery packs (1250mAh capacity for the GPS Collar and
1900mAh capacity for the Handheld Device). Do not remove or attempt to remove the non-user-
replaceable battery. Call the Customer Care Centre if your battery needs to be replaced. For a

IMPORTANT RECYCLING ADVISE
Please respect the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations in your country. This

La sécurité, le confort et l’efficacité du système de localisation GPS TEK SERIES SportDOG Brand
™
ont été prouvés pour des chiens de plus de 3,6 kg. Une utilisation correcte et cohérente de ce
produit vous permet de localiser votre chien dans un périmètre maximum de 11 km. Le système
portatif reçoit votre position géographique à l’aide de son antenne GPS intégrée et les changements
de position à partir de l’antenne installée sur le collier GPS afin de localiser votre chien.
IMPORTANT : le système de localisation GPS TEK SERIES possède une portée maximale de
11 km. La portée maximale varie selon la manière dont vous tenez le système portatif. Pour obtenir
de bons résultats à longue distance, tenez le système portatif à la verticale, éloigné de votre corps
et au-dessus de votre tête. Le terrain, le temps, la végétation, les transmissions d’autres appareils
radios, ainsi que d’autres facteurs peuvent affecter la portée maximale.

CHARGEMENT DES BATTERIES

POUR RECHARGER LE SYSTÈME PORTATIF :
1. Retirez le cache en plastique protégeant la prise de charge.
2. Connectez l’un des connecteurs à la prise de charge.
3. Branchez le chargeur sur une prise murale ordinaire.
4. Chargez le système portatif pendant 2 heures. Si vous chargez le dispositif plus longtemps, cela
ne pose toutefois pas de problème.
5. Une fois la charge terminée (voyant vert allumé sur la batterie), replacez le cache en plastique.

ÉTAPE :: 02
MISE SOUS TENSION ET HORS TENSION DES COMPOSANTS DU SYSTÈME
TEK SERIES
POUR METTRE LE SYSTÈME PORTATIF SOUS TENSION :
Sur la partie supérieure de l’appareil, appuyez fermement sur l’interrupteur MARCHE/ARRÊT et
relâchez-le. L’écran de démarrage s’affiche alors.
POUR METTRE HORS TENSION LE SYSTÈME PORTATIF :
Appuyez fermement sur l’interrupteur MARCHE/ARRÊT jusqu’à ce que l’écran devienne noir.
POUR METTRE LE COLLIER GPS SOUS TENSION :
Appuyez sur l’interrupteur MARCHE/ARRÊT et relâchez-le lorsque le voyant lumineux du GPS
devient vert. Le collier GPS émettra 1 à 5 bips pour indiquer le canal sur lequel le collier se trouve
et le voyant lumineux du GPS clignotera deux fois toutes les 3 secondes jusqu’à l’obtention du
verrouillage du GPS. Une fois le collier GPS verrouillé, le voyant lumineux du GPS clignotera une fois
toutes les 3 secondes.
Remarque : Pour verrouiller le signal GPS, vous devez être à l’extérieur, dans un lieu dégagé par beau
temps. Pour obtenir un verrouillage de GPS de qualité, vous devez attendre d’être dehors avant de
mettre sous tension votre système portatif et votre collier GPS. Le message « EN ATTENTE DE VERR. »
s’affiche jusqu’à l’obtention d’un verrouillage correct du GPS.
POUR METTRE HORS TENSION LE COLLIER GPS :
Appuyez et maintenez l’interrupteur MARCHE/ARRÊT enfoncé jusqu’à ce que le voyant lumineux
du GPS s’allume en continu (rouge) et que le collier GPS émette un bip pendant 2 secondes. Pour
allonger l’autonomie de la batterie entre les charges, éteindre le collier GPS lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.

ÉTALONNAGE DE LA BOUSSOLE
Remarque : la boussole doit systématiquement être étalonnée à l’extérieur. Tenez la boussole droite et à
distance des objets susceptibles de créer des champs magnétiques comme les véhicules ou les bâtiments.
1. Dans le menu principal, sélectionnez BOUSSOLE > ÉTALONNER. L’écran BOUSSOLE
s’affiche.
2. Faites pivoter le système portatif 2 ou 3 fois dans les trois dimensions, comme indiqué ci-
dessous. Faites-le tourner jusqu’à ce que les voyants noirs soient le plus près possible du centre
de la zone verte. Si la procédure est correctement effectuée, votre système portatif émet des
bips, vibre et affiche le message « DONNÉES D’ÉTAL. MISES À JOUR ».
Remarque : si la boussole ne met pas automatiquement à jour vos données d’étalonnage,
effectuez les étapes suivantes.
3. Faites tourner le système portatif jusqu’à ce que les voyants noirs soient le plus près possible de
la zone verte et appuyez sur le pavé de sélection des menus pour continuer.
4. Lorsque l’invite « ENREGISTRER LES NVLLES DONNÉES D’ÉTALONNAGE ? » s’affiche, appuyez
sur les touches fléchées pour sélectionner OUI.
5. Appuyez sur RETOUR (bouton supérieur droit du système portatif) pour revenir au
menu principal.
Remarque : Pour définir votre angle de déclinaison magnétique afin d’éviter toute valeur imprécise au
niveau de la boussole, consultez votre manuel d’utilisation.

JUMELAGE DU COLLIER GPS AVEC LE SYSTÈME PORTATIF
Votre système est jumelé par défaut mais si vous avez besoin de jumeler le système portatif au
collier GPS, suivez les instructions fournies à l’ÉTAPE 3 de votre manuel d’utilisation.
ÉTAPE :: 05
IDENTIFICATION DE VOTRE CHIEN
Le système de localisation GPS TEK SERIES vous permet de localiser jusqu’à 12 chiens dotés
de colliers GPS. Après le jumelage des colliers avec le système portatif, vous devez identifier les
chiens au niveau du système. Vous devez répéter la procédure ci-dessous pour chaque chien que
vous souhaitez intégrer au système.
1. Dans le menu principal, sélectionnez PARAMÈTRES > MES CHIENS > AJOUT. UN
CHIEN. L’écran CHIEN ns’affiche où ncorrespond au chiffre de chien suivant disponible.
2. Pour saisir le nom du chien, sélectionnez CHANGER NOM. Une zone de saisie s’affiche.
Sélectionnez la touche Eff et appuyez sur la touche ENTRÉE (bouton inférieur droit du
système portatif) pour effacer le nom. Sélectionnez les lettres du nouveau nom à saisir à l’aide
des touches fléchées. Sélectionnez pour valider le nouveau nom.
3. Affectez un collier au chien en sélectionnant COLLIER. Choisissez la couleur associée au collier
à l’aide des touches fléchées à partir des colliers déjà jumelés.
4. Après l’affectation d’un collier au nouveau chien, vous êtes en mesure de le localiser. Appuyez
sur RETOUR (bouton supérieur droit du système portatif) pour revenir au menu principal.

AJUSTEMENT DU COLLIER GPS
Reportez-vous en page 2 du manuel d’utilisation du système TEK SERIES
pour obtenir des informations importantes sur la sécurité.
Placez le collier autour du cou de votre chien et ajustez-le en veillant à ce que l’antenne GPS soit

en veillant néanmoins à pouvoir passer un doigt entre le collier et le cou du chien. L’ajustement est
important dans la mesure où les performances risquent d’être irrégulières si le collier est trop lâche.

2. Utilisation adéquate
Ce produit est conçu pour être utilisé avec des chiens pour lesquels une localisation est
nécessaire. Le caractère ou la taille/le poids spécifiques de votre chien ne sont peut-être
pas adaptés à ce produit. Radio Systems Corporation déconseille l’utilisation de ce produit
si votre chien est agressif et rejette toute responsabilité quant au caractère approprié du
produit à un animal spécifique. Si vous n’êtes pas sûr que ce dispositif soit approprié à votre
