A. Fasten the driver and passenger brackets to the driver and passenger
side of the unit with (4) MG screws & washers using a T30 Tone per side .
Passenger side shown.
Always disconnect the battery when installing electronic devices .

B. If the Defender is equipped with the factory plastic roof, it must be
removed prior to installing the overhead stereo. For installation
with the plastic roof follow steps C to N. Follow steps C to G and
then K to Nif not installing with a roof .

C. Guide the harness over the top of the enclosure and out the driver
side .
E. From the top of ROP visor , place (3) MG T30 tonc screws per side
through the visor and stereo mounting brackets.
G. Using a T30 tonc driver and 10mm socket , tighten all (6) MG screws
to secure the stereo to the ROP visor. If you are not installinga roof ,
skip to Step K.

E. To safely install the overhead ,it is necessary to have a seco~d
person to help liftthe enclosure into place.
With the roof removed ,lift the overhead stereo into place .
F. From the inside the cab fasten a MG washer and nut onto each MG
screw.
H. To reinstall the roof, remove all (8) MG screws with a T30 tonc to
lower the stereo from the mounting brackets.

I. With the stereo removed, reinstall the roof.
K. Guide the harness out the driver side . Fasten the stereo back to the
mounting brackets with the (8) MG T30 Torx screws .
M. Cut the power/ground wire to your desired length. Strip the end of
the wire about¼". Crimp the fuse holder onto the power wire and ring
terminal to the ground wire .

J. Guide the harness out the driver side. Lift the enclosure back into
place and fasten the stereo back to the mounting brackets with the
(8) MG t30 Torx screws.
L. Route the power/ground and ext. amp trigger output into the dash cavity.
Once in the dash cavity , pull the power/ground and ext. amp trigger output
across the dash cavity along the factory harnesses to the bus bar.
N. Pull guard away from bus bar , remove the 10mm nut on the 2nd position
terminal for 12v constant power or the 1st position for accessory power
and attach the red POWER wire. Refasten on the nut. Remove the 10mm
nut on the 3rd position terminal and attach the black GROUND wire . Re-
fasten on the nut.

RADIO FUNCTIONS
Selecting FM/ AM Band: Press MODE until the FM or AM band shows on the display.
Automatic Station Search: Press ::::=:::: or ¥ to start automatic station search. The search
stops when astation is found.
Manual Station Search: Press and hold ::::=:::: or ¥ until M- SEEK. Press the ::::=:::: or ¥
brieflyto change the frequency until the desired frequency is set. Change to Automatic
search (A - SEEK) mode afterastation is found.
BLUETOOTH AUDIO STREAMING
1. Open the Bluetooth setup program on the mobile device and activate the Bluetooth feature
2. The device will show up as "SSV". Select this device and enter passkey: 0000
3. After successfully pairing, a Bluetooth logo will appear on the phone menu screen and
show "CONNECT" "BT MUSIC" on the device LCD display.
Stop Playback: Press ► II briefly to pause music. Press ► II button again to continue playback.
Skip Track: Press ::::=:::: or ¥ to play previous/ next song.
CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL AUDIO DEVICE (OPTIONAL)
- Press MODE until AUX shows on the display.

GENERAL OPERATIONS

5. LCD Display
Power On/Off: Press ► II to power on. Press and hold ► II to power off.
Volume: Press the VOL(+) or(·) button to increase or decrease the volume.
Mute On/Off: Press ► II briefly to mute the sound. Press ► II again to un-mute the sound.
Mode Sources: Press the MODE button to switch between AUX, FM, AM, Bluetooth (BT MUSIC).
Mode Settings (Bass/Treble/Balance/Fader/EQ/Loudness): Press the MODE button for
2 seconds and then press the ~ button until the function you want is shown on the display.
Press VOL(+)(·) to change the settings of the menu item displayed.
Bass (BAS)/Treble (TRE): Press the VOL(+) or(·) button to adjust Bass & Treble.
Balance (BAL): Press VOL(+) or(·) to adjust balance (sound distribution between the right and
left speakers).
Fader (FAD): Press VOL(+)or(·) to adjust sound distribution between the front and rear speakers.
Equalizer (EQ): Press VOL(+) or (·) to select one of the EQ options: OFF, FLAT, CLASS, POP,
ROCK, JAZZ, METAL. The equalizer will be disabled if EQ OFF is set. The equalizer setting is shown
at the bottom of the display.
Loudness (LOUD): Press VOL(+) or(·) (LOUD ON) or to disable the function (LOUD OFF). When
the loudness function is on, LOUD is shown on the right of the display.
Select USA/Europe Area Frequencies (AREA): Press VOL(+} or(·) to select Radio Region
(USA/ Europe Frequencies).
