Height adjustment

5. Application
Height adjustment for hairdryers for the application in semi-
public and public-industrial areas
Continuously adjustable via constant load self-recoiling
spring, guide rail made of anodized special aluminum, with
4 mm thick, fully adhered plate glass and covered, vandal-
proof cable guide.

Warning!
•Mount the height adjustment for hairdryers outside of the
reach of persons using a bath tube or a shower.
•Connect the height adjustment to the ground conductor
system.
•The electrical connection shall be fused with a residual
current device (RCD) for a maximum nominal residual current
of 30mA

•The diameter of the electric line shall be dimensioned by
a qualified person on site.
Non-adherence may lead to danger to life or material damage,
e.g. due to an electric shock or fire.
Important!
•Mount the height adjustment vertically on an even wall
surface.
•Protect the height adjustment from drill dust.
Non-adherence may lead to malfunction, e.g. the guide rail
may get stuck.
The recommended distance from the floor to the
bottom edge of the height adjustment is 1,200 mm.
For surface installation, front cable openings are
included in the wall holders.
The recommended distance from the floor to the
opening in the upper wall holder (a) for leading out the
connector cable is 2,350 mm.
9.1 Mark the bores (b) for the wall holders (a,e).
9.2 Drill the bores in accordance with the marks. Insert the
dowels.
9.3 Lay a fixed three-wire cable for the electric connection.
9.4 Connect the connector cable to the terminal in the upper
wall holder (a).
Option :
Lead the connector cable out of the lower wall holder
If necessary, the electric line can be lead out of the wall
in the lower wall holder (e).
The recommended distance from the floor to the opening
in the lower wall holder (a) for leading out the connector cable
is 1,250 mm.
9.5 Lay an interconnection cable in the channel (d) from the
terminal in the upper wall holder (a) to the lower wall
holder (a)
9.6 Connect the interconnection cable to the electric line in
the lower wall holder (e) via a terminal (not included in
the delivery scope).
9.7 Mount the height adjustment on the attachment points (b)
of the wall holder via the screws and the washers.
Caution!
To avoid scratches, use a rubber mallet to
drive in the covers into the attachment points.
9.8 Drive in the covers into the attachment points evenly.
10. Maintenance
•Integrate the device into the regular inspection of electric
devices.
•The device shall be cleaned on a regular basis, considering
the level of utilization and the dirt formation.
•In case of irregular running or running noises, clean and
lubricate the self-recoiling spring; if necessary, replace it.
11. Exchanging the self-recoiling
Caution!
•Disconnect all poles of the device from the mains before
opening it
Non-compliance may be life-threatening due to an electric
shock.
•Safety gloves shall be used
Non-compliance may lead to gashes due to the sharp edges of
the self-recoiling spring.
Demounting the height adjustment
11.1 Demount the hairdryer and the mounting plate of the
guide block.

Caution!
Drill auxiliary bores into the covers (x) of the attachment points to avoid damage to the wall holder when lifting out of the
covers.
11.2 Lift the covers (x) out of the attachment points of the wall holder at the auxiliary bores by means of a drift.
11.3 Remove the screws together with the washers from the wall holder and detach the height adjustment from the wall.
11.4 Pinch off the connector cable of the height adjustment.
Caution!
Place the height adjustment onto a soft cloth to avoid scratches.

Removing the old self-recoiling spring
11.5 In the upper wall holder (a), remove the grounding
screw (c) and the 4 additional screws (b) from the
guide rails and the terminal clamp holder.
11.6 Pull the upper wall holder (a) off.
11.7 Carefully let the guide block glide up, in order to
relieve the self-recoiling spring of load.
11.8 Unscrew the spacer (d)
11.9 Remove the fastening screws (e) of the self-
recoiling spring from the guide rail.
11.10 Pull out the guide block upwards together with the
retractile cord and the cable guide bar.
11.11 Unscrew the locknut (f) of the pin screw.
11.12 Screw the pin screw (h) out of the self-recoiling
spring.
11.13 Remove the self-recoiling spring.
Installing the new self-recoiling spring
Important!
•Lubricate the bearing bore of the self-recoiling spring
and the runners of the slider (i). Use grease only!
•Consider the mounting position of the self-recoiling
spring. The self-recoiling spring has to roll down on the
right side of the guide rail.
•Ensure soft running of the self-recoiling spring and tight
seat of the locknut.
11.14 The installation is carried out in reversed sequence.
11.15 Pull the guide rail down completely and lubricate
the surface of the new self-recoiling spring.
Mounting the height adjustment
Important !
•Check the height adjustment for soft running and tight
screw joints prior to mounting.
11.16 Mount the height adjustment.
11.17 Mount the mounting plate and the hairdryer.
