the selected Power or Temperature setting, then alternate with the time remaining
until the hob switches OFF automatically.
To cancel the Timer at any time, touch the

control to switch OFF.
When the set cooking time is reached, the hob will switch OFF, a series of “beeps”
•
will sound and the display will flash “----”, to indicate that the hob is in Standby.

ERROR MESSAGES
If shown on the Display 9, perform the action described below. If this does not rectify
the problem, or it repeats without obvious cause, or another error message is displayed,
please report the following error messages to STELLAR Customer Services at the
address given in the warranty section:
E0: Cookware not present, unsuitable material, or less than 12cm diameter; hob
•
switches power off and “beeps”
- use correct cookware.
E1, E2 or E3: Overheating problem; hob switches power off and “beeps”
•
- switch off, remove cookware and allow 5 minutes to cool, check the position and
location of the hob, then operate as normal.

of the control.
Cooking may be controlled in either Power mode or Temperature mode; each

mode is selected in turn using the control. In Temperature mode, the desired
temperature will be reached as quickly as possible and then maintained; this is useful
to prevent food burning. In Power mode, the hob will work in a similar way to a
conventional hob.
Touch the4. control; the hob will begin heating immediately in Power mode,
indicated by the
symbol on the Display 9, which will also show 1200W, the
default power setting.
Use the

After setting either Temperature or Power, you may subsequently adjust these•
further, using the and controls. If you wish to make alternative settings,
touch the control again, to return to the start point, the default Power setting.
Once cooking has started, you may use the Timing and Lock functions - refer to the

hear the cooling fan stop, then disconnect from the mains.
HOW INDUCTION HOBS WORK
An induction hob heats in a unique way. A very strong magnetic field is created by
electricity running through an electrical coil positioned under a ceramic plate. The
‘induction current’, created by the magnetic field, generates heat in any cookware
capable of being magnetised, while standing on the ceramic plate. Only the pan is
heated - the ceramic plate remains relatively cool. As a result, spilt food will not burn on
to the surface, and can be simply wiped off at the end of cooking.
CHOOSING COOKWARE FOR INDUCTION HOB USE
Only pans that can be magnetised can be used on induction hobs. Most recent Judge,
Stellar, and Horwood cookware is induction-ready, and is described as ‘suitable for all
hob types’. Some cookware, although made of non-magnetic material, has a special
base which allows efficient working on induction hobs. A simple way to check - if a
fridge magnet will stick to the base of the pans, then the pan will heat on an induction
hob. Pans with a base diameter of less than 120mm may not work on this hob.
Ensure all cookware used on the hob is clean before use.
