PracticeusingXtreme6inshallowwater.PracticeswitchingbetweentheSNORKEL&DIVEmodesontheSnorkelator.Theamountofairyou
willreceivewillvarybasedonyourlungcapacity,depth,watertemperature,exertionlevel,etc.
Xtreme6utilizesadrysnorkel;howeversomewatermaystillenterthesnorkel.TocleartheSnorkelator,tiltyourheadtotheRIGHTand
exhalesharply.Repeatoccasionallytokeepclear.
Xtreme6isshippedempty–fillpriortouseusingtheincluded#920CAirCompressorRefillAdapteratyourlocaldiveshop,orfillfromafull
cylinder(3000psi+)usingtheincluded#910SScubaTankRefillAdapter.
TheharnessdoesNOThavebuiltinbuoyancy.

NOTE:Duetothevolumeofthe6cu.ft.cylinder,werecommendthatitbefilledfromadiveshoptoensureacompletefill
andmaintainfullairsupplyinyourmaincylinder.

1. RemoveblackrubberdustcoverfromRefillPortonTankValve/1stStageRegulatorcombo.
2. ApplysmallamountoffoodgradesiliconegreasetoRefillPortthreadswithyourfinger.
3. ScrewRefillAdapterontoRefillPortuntilfingertight.DONOTapplyawrenchorotherwiseovertighten.
4. TurnsilverbleedringonAdapterbackandforth(open/close)severaltimestoensureproperfunction.Turnbleedring
toclosed(clockwise)position.
5. AttachRefillAdaptertoSCUBAcylindervalve.
6. TurntheOn/OffKnobcounter‐clockwiseuntilitiscompletelyopen/on.
7. OpenSCUBAcylindervalveveryslowlyjustuntilyoucanhearairpassingfromonecylindertotheother.
IMPORTANT:SUPPORTTHEXTREMECYLINDERDURINGFILLING.
NOTE:Fillingtoofastcangenerateheatandwillresultinanincompletefillafterthecylindercools.
NOTE:IfairisescapingfromtheAdapterduringfilling,closecylindervalve,waitforairtostopandre‐tightenknurled
ringbyturningtoclosed(clockwiseposition).
8. Whenatleast2minuteshaveelapsed,andaircannolongerbeheardflowingfromthecylinder,turnthecylindervalve
completelyopentoensuremaximumfill.
NOTE:SCUBAcylindermustbefilledto3000psiatbeginningofrefillprocedureinordertofilltorecommendedfull
capacity.
9. CloseSCUBAcylindervalve.
10. TurntheOn/OffKnobclockwiseuntilitiscompletelyclosed/off.
11. Depressthe2ndStagePurgeButtonuntilairflowcannolongerbeheardandthehoseisdepressurized.
12. YoumustturnthebleedringonAdaptertoopen(counter‐clockwise)positiontorelievepressureintheAdapter.
NOTE:YouwillnotbeabletoremovetheAdapterfromRefillPortuntilthisisdone.
13. RemoveAdapterfromSCUBAcylinderandXtreme6.
14. ReplacerubbercoveronRefillPort.
15. StoreXtreme6KitwithOn/OffKnobintheOFFpositionuntilreadytodive.

BEFOREUSINGTHESNORKELATOR
1. EnsurethattheSnorkelatorissecurelyattachedtotheregulator.
2. FamiliarizeyourselfwiththeoperationoftheSnorkelator&practiceturning
thedialtoeachfunctionseveraltimes:



Turnthedialto‘SNORKEL’whenbreathingoffthesnorkel
(dialispointingtowardthesnorkel).

SiliconeGasket(blackportionholdssnorkeltoregulator)







Turnthedialto‘DIVE’tobreatheofftheregulator
(dialispointingtotheregulator).



PRE‐DIVECHECK
1. SLOWLYopentheOn/OffKnobcounter‐clockwisetopressurizetheregulator.
2. Checkthattherearenoaudibleleaks.NEVERDIVEwitharegulatorthatshowsanysignsofleakagewhen
pressurized.
3. VisuallycheckDialGaugeforneedletobewithingreenzone.
4. PushPurgeButtondownandrelease.PurgeButtonshouldmoveupanddownfreely.Tomaintainfullpressuredo
notpurgeunnecessarily.
5. AffixyourscubadivingmasktotheSnorkelatorclip.
6. Putwaistharnessonandadjustforasnugbutcomfortablefit.Addsoftweightstopockets(OPTIONAL).
7. Positionthe2ndSageRegulatorunderthearmorovertheshoulder(findmostcomfortableplacement).
8. PlaceRegulatorNecklacearoundneck.
9. TurndialonSnorkelatortoDIVEmodeandtakeafewbreathsofftheregulatortoensureeverythingisworking
correctly.







USINGSPAREAIRXTREME6
1. EnsurethedialisinSNORKELmodeandplacethemouthpieceinyourmouth.
2. Afterenteringthewater,practiceswitchingthedialbetweenSNORKELandDIVEmodes.
3. Whenreadytosubmerge,turnthedialtoDIVEmodeandensureairisflowingthroughtheregulator.
4. Breathenormallyandenjoyyourdive.DONOTholdyourbreath.
5. Whensurfacing,keepdialinDIVEpositionuntilsnorkelisabovewater.
6. Atthesurface,takeinafullbreathfromSCUBA,thenturnthedialtoSNORKELmode.
7. Exhalesharplyintothemouthpiecetoclearwaterfromsnorkel.Ifwaterremainsinthesnorkel,tiltheadtothe
right,takeadeepbreath,andexhalesharplyagain.
8. Takesmall,slow,steadybreathstomaximizethedurationofairsupply.
9. RegularlycheckyourPressureGaugeandreturntothesurfacewhenpressuregaugeshows500psi.
Note:Donotuseuntilcompletelyemptyunderwateraswaterwillfloodtheinternalcomponentsandwilltherefore
requireserviceandcleaning.


POST‐DIVE
NOTE:Rinsingshouldoccurassoonaspossibleafterdiving.
1. Removeunitfromwaistharness.
2. Beforerinsing,checkPressureGaugeandmakesureXtreme6isnotempty(hassomepressure)toprevententrance
ofmoistureintothesystem.Refillifnecessary.
CAUTION:Ifempty,watermayhaveenteredtheregulatorandcylinderandcouldleadtocorrosionand/orfailureof
thesystem.RefertoMaintenancesection.
3. SoakthewholeXtreme6unit(pressurized&ON)foratleast30minutesinfreshwateraftereachuse.Rinsethe2nd
StageandSnorkelatorthoroughlytoremovesaltwaterand/orsand.
4. TurntheSnorkelatordialseveraltimesbetweenDIVEandSNORKELmodewhilerinsinginclean,freshwater.
5. RinseRefillAdapterinfreshwater.
6. TurnOn/OffKnobonregulatorclockwiseuntilitiscompletelyclosed.
7. Gentlyshaketodislodgeanywaterandwipedrywithacleantowel.
8. StoreXtreme6fullorwithsomepositivepressuretopreventcontaminantsfromenteringthecylinder.Storeina
clean,dryenvironmentwithoptimumtemperaturesof50‐75°Fforbestproductperformance.Avoiddirectsunlight,
automobiletrunksorotherareassubjecttotemperatureextremes.
NOTE:Industryguidelinesrecommendreplacingairincylindersannually.


ROUTINECARE&MAINTENANCE
Forgeneralcleaning,useamilddishsoaporSimpleGreen/biodegradablesolution.
Forsanitizing,useacommerciallyavailableregulatorsanitizeravailablethroughadiveshop.
KeepthethreadsonboththeRefillPortandRefillAdaptercleanandlubricated.Usehigh‐quality,non‐toxic,food
gradesiliconegreaseforbestresults.
CAUTION:Neveruseahydrocarbonbasedoil(i.e.householdoilormotoroil).
Ifyounoticedamage,wearorsuspectanyleakingormissingparts,haveSpareAirexaminedimmediately.
WARNING:DonotattempttorepairXtreme6yourself.Unauthorizedrepairsortamperingishazardous.
Xtreme6regulatorshouldbeservicedannuallybyanAuthorizedDealerorbySubmersibleSystemstoassureproper
performance.Itcannotbeassumedthataregulatorisingoodworkingorderonthebasisthatithasreceivedlittle
ornouse.Prolongedorimproperstoragecanresultinprematuredeteriorationofo‐ringseals.
ThecylinderhasaDOT3AL3000ratingandwillrequirehydrostatictestingevery5years.Avisualinspectionis
recommendedannually.Thecylindershouldbeinspectedinternallyandexternallyforpitting,corrosion,dents,
cracksorotherdamage.

TRAVELING
Whentravelingoncommercialaircraft,cylindersmustbeVISIBLYemptyandremovedfromregulators.
1. PurgeXtreme6untilemptyofair.
2. RemoveValvefromcylinderbyturningcounter‐clockwise. The Valve is attached hand-tight, therefore, does not
require any tools to remove. If needed you can tap the On/Off Knobwith a rubber mallet to loosen. 
WARNING:DonotforceValveonoroffcylinder.Excessiveforcemaydamagethreads.IfValvedoesnotremove
easily,soakina1to1vinegar&watersolutionfor3hourstoloosenanycorrosion.
3. Leaveo‐ringandwasheronValve.
4. PlaceXtreme6inaprotectivecontainer(plasticbagorbox)tokeepunitcleanandtosecurelooseparts.
5. PackXtreme6inyourcheckorcarry‐onluggage.
6. Whenyoureachyourdivedestination,reassembleXtreme6andfillthecylinder.Lightlylubricatetheo‐ringwitha
smallamountofsiliconegrease–neverusehydrocarbonbasedoil.DONOTforceValveontocylinder–ifyoufeel
resistance,stop,unscrew,andstartagain.
NOTE:Replaceo‐ringafterproducthasbeendisassembledandreassembled3timesoro‐ringshowssignsofwearor

TROUBLESHOOTING
Everyunitistestedbeforeshipping,however,regulatorscangointofree‐flowwhenaccidentallytriggeredandthis
doesnotmeanthereisaproductdefect.If2ndstagegoesintoafree‐flow,makesuretheSnorkelatordialisinthe
Snorkelposition.Thefree‐flowcanbestoppedbyholdingtheregulatorupsidedownsothefrontcoverfacesthe
surface.Ifthefree‐flowdoesn’tstop,trypressingthepurgebuttonorpressingthepalmofyourhandoverthe
mouthpiece.
Ifsandordebrisinterfereswiththesmoothturningofthedial,rinsetheproductmorethoroughlywhileturningthe
dial.Ifsandstillpersistsinsideunscrewthetopcapandremovethedialandrinseallpartsthoroughlyuntilclean.
Placeasmallamountoffood‐gradesiliconegreasewithyourfingeraroundtheo‐ring.Placethedialbackinsidethe
Snorkelatorvalvewiththedialpointingatthesnorkel,thenreplacethethreadedcaptighteningallthewaydown
untilyoufeelresistance.TurnthedialafewtimestoSNORKELandthentoDIVEmodetoensureproper
functionality.
Ifthesiliconegasketbeginstoshowsignsofwear,contactSubmersibleSystemsforservicingorreplacement.

