CURING YOUR GRILL
Adding Charcoal/
Wood During
Cooking
Prior to your first use of the Sunterra Outdoor Cooking Equipment, follow the
instructions below carefully to cure your grill. Curing your grill will minimize
damage to the exterior finish, as well as rid the grill of paint odor that can
impart unnatural flavors to the first meal prepared on your Sunterra Casual
Fire Pit & Grill.
When seasoning or cooking, keep the chamber door closed and only opened
minimally at all times and for refueling only. Reduce the amount of fuel used
to a moderate amount to maintain the coal bed. By design our grills and ovens
are created to cook on embers not flames as in a fireplace. Keeping the door
open for a long period while under intense flame may possibly damage the
exterior finish.
