5. USE AND MAINTENANCE
Do not block the ventilation openings of the plancha.
Position the gas bottle on the ground level next to the plancha and safely away from any
source of heat or prolonged sunshine.
If you need to replace the gas bottle, ensure that the plancha is turned off and that no
potential source of fire (cigarette, naked flame, spark, etc.) is nearby before starting.
Make sure that the gas hose is not pinched or twisted.
Connect the rubber gas hose to the connection located outside the plancha so that it will
not touch any hot parts.

Make sure that all control knobs on the plancha are turned off.
Connect the gas cylinder directly to the plancha.
Open the gas bottle control valve or regulator valve.
Make sure there is no gas leakage by adding a mixture of soap and water with equal
portions (half soap, half water) to all the connection points on your gas system, including
the connections to the gas valve and the taps on the gas pipe (see diagram below).
NEVER USE A NAKED FLAME to find the leak position.
The formation of bubbles on the tested areas means there is a leak. Turn off the gas
supply and seal all connections tightly. Repeat the test. If you still see the bubbles, do
not use this plancha. Request help from your local retailer.
Carry out this leak test at least once a year and every time you remove or replace the
gas bottle.
Make sure that the valve is positioned correctly above the diffuser.
You will also have to carry out this test whenever you smell characteristic odors of gas.
Before proceeding, check that you understand all the following SAFETY
RECOMMENDATIONS.
Before cooking for the first time, preheat the plancha on “HIGH”for 10 minutes until the
smoke has dissipated. This process must be carried before cooking. IMPORTANT: If
the plancha has a lid / cover, open it during pre-heating.
10

11
5. USE AND MAINTENANCE
To prevent foods from sticking to the cooking surface, please use a long handled brush
(not supplied) to apply a thin coating of cooking or vegetable oil before each cooking
session.
When cooking for the first time, paint colours may change slightly, which is normal.
Never remove the grease box during cooking.
Never use more than 70% of the plancha surface for cooking. Using the entire surface
can lead to excessive accumulation of heat and may damage the plancha.
Igniting the plancha fitted with a new gas bottle takes more time as the air in the gas hose
needs to be drained. To light the burners, proceed as follows:
1) If the plancha has a hood / lid, open it.
2) Ensure all knobs are in the <<OFF>> position. Open the gas control valve on the gas
bottle or regulator.
3) Each control has its own ignitor. Push and turn the control knob anti-clockwise to the
high position. Hold the control knob pushed down for 2-3 seconds. It will light the burner.
After each “click”sound (spark generated by ignitor), turn the knob to <<OFF>>
position and try again if the burner is not lit.
4) Repeat the previous step as many times as necessary until all burners are on.
5) If burner fails to ignite after several times, turn control knob to the <<OFF>> position
and turn gas off at the bottle or regulator. Wait 5 minutes; then repeat the above steps.
6) After ignition, the burners should be operated at the high position for 10 minutes in
order to preheat the plancha. This process should be done before every cooking session.
IMPORTANT - The hood / lid should be open during preheating.
7) After completion of preheating, turn the burners to low position for best cooking
results.

12
5. USE AND MAINTENANCE
1. If the plancha has a hood / lid, open it.
2. Ensure all knobs are in the <<OFF>> position. Open the gas control valve on the gas
bottle or regulator.
3. Crack a match and place near the gas outlet openings on the burner.
4. Bring the match to the burner. Turn the left knob anticlockwise until you hear a “click”
sound and hold it down for 2-3 seconds. CAUTION: Knob should be fully open to light
the burner
5. After ignition, the burners should be operated at the high position for 10 minutes in
order to preheat the plancha. This process should be done before every cooking session.
IMPORTANT - The hood / lid should be open during preheating.
6. After completion of preheating, turn the burners to low position for best cooking
results.
7. If you cannot light the burner by previous steps, check the following:
a. Is the gas cylinder empty?
b. Is the diffuser properly inserted into the injector?
c. Are all hoses connected properly?
Remarks: You need to verify the flame at the side of the appliance. Make sure that all
burners are lit correctly.
After each cooking session, turn the control knobs to the <<HIGH>> position and wait for
5 minutes. Any residues will be burnt off, helping with the cleaning process. The lid / hood
must be open during this process.
As soon as you have finished cooking, turn all the control knobs clockwise back to the
<<OFF>> position, then close valves on the gas bottle. Let the plancha cool down sufficiently
before closing the lid.

13
5. USE AND MAINTENANCE
Clean your plancha regularly between uses and after leaving it for a long period. After use,
wait at least 1 hour before cleaning. Protect your hands with gloves to avoid burns. Never
pour water on the cooking plate when the surfaces are still hot. Never handle hot parts
without hand protection. To guarantee long product life and a good state of repair, we
strongly recommend to cover the plancha if it is stored outdoors, even for short periods,
particularly during the winter months.
Clean with hot soapy water. To remove all the traces of food, use a cream-cleaning product
applied with a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly and wipe fully.
Remove burners and clean them regularly or whenever an excessive accumulation of soot
or insects is noticed, to avoid blocking the burner openings and Venturi tube. Use a pipe
cleaner to clean the blocked holes. Use a wire brush to remove the corrosion of burners.
Reassemble the burners and make sure the Venturi tubes are properly adjusted.
Regularly remove excess oil and grease of the plancha body using a soft plastic or wooden
squeegee. It is not necessary to remove the grease and oil completely. For thorough cleaning,
only use hot soapy water and a cloth or nylon brush.
All screws and bolts, etc. should be checked and tightened once a year or if necessary.
Store the plancha in a cool, dry place. The bottle must also be protected from sunlight.
Cover the burners with aluminum foil in order to prevent insects or other debris from
accumulating
in the burner holes and obstructing them. If your plancha is stored indoors,
disconnect the gas bottle and leave it outside. Always store the gas bottle outdoors, in a
dry and well-ventilated place far away from any source of heat or fire. Do not let children
play with the bottle. Before using the plancha again carry out the leak test.
