Overview
● Do not operate this instrument unless you are an ophthalmologist or a trained operator.
● Do not disassemble or modify this instrument. This may cause an accident or product failure.

■Product Life Span
● Thelifespanofthisinstrumentiseightyears.Notethatthisonlyapplieswheretheinstrumentisusedinanappropriate
environmentandwhereitisservicedandmaintainedasprescribed.
■Disposal
• Ifdisposingoftheprojectionlampsandfuses,dosoinaccordancewiththelawsandregulationsofyourcountryandlocal
authority.
• Ifdisposingofthepackingmaterials,sortthemrst,andthendosoinaccordancewiththelawsandregulationsofyour
countryandlocalauthority.

Precautions for Use
Precautions for use of electrical medical instruments (for safety and hazard prevention)
Precautions for Use
1. Donotusethisinstrumentunlessyouareanexperiencedoperator.
2. Notethefollowingpointsuponinstallation:
(1)Donotinstalltheinstrumentinaplacewherewatermaybesplashedonit.
(2) Donotinstalltheinstrumentinaplacethatmayaecttheperformanceofitduetoabnormalatmosphericpressure,temperatureor
humidityaswellaspoorventilation,exposuretodirectsunlight,dustoraircontainingsaltorsulfur.
(3) Besurethattheinstrumentisinstalledonastablesurface;Donotinstallitonaslopingsurfaceorinaplacesubjecttovibrationorimpact.
(Also,avoidimpactintransport.)
(4) Donotinstalltheinstrumentinaplacewherechemicalsarestoredorwhereitmaybeexposedtogas.
(5) Makesurethatthepowersourcevoltageandtheallowablecurrentorconsumablepowerareappropriate.
(6) Besuretoproperlyconnecttotheearth.
(7) Notethattheoutsideofthelamphousingscanbecomehot.
3. Notethefollowingpointspriortouse:
(1)Checkthatcontrolknobsandbuttonsfunctionproperly,andthattheinstrumentoperatesnormally.
(2)Checkthattheearthisfullyconnected.
(3)Checkthatallcordsandcablesareproperlyandsafelyconnected.
(4)Conrmthatallofthepartsarefunctioningnormallyandsafely.
(5)ImmobilizetheOM-8usingthestoppers(casters)andthevariouslockhandles.
(6)Disinfectortakeothermeasuresasnecessary.
4. Notethefollowingpointsduringuse:
(1) Useminimumilluminationintensityrequiredthroughouttheexaminationprocess:thiswillnotonlyreducethediscomfortofthe
examineeduetotheglarebutalsoextendthelifeofthelamps.
(2) Constantlymonitorthattheinstrumentisoperatingnormallyandthattheexamineeisnotindiscomfort.
(3) Whereanyabnormalityisfoundintheinstrumentortheexaminee,takenecessaryactionssuchasmakingsurethattheexamineeissafe
andturningtheinstrumento.
(4)Duringuse,neverloosenthebalanceadjustmenthandleortheverticalmovementlockhandle.
5. Notethefollowingpointsafteruse:
(1) Followinguse,besuretoturnothepowerswitch.
(2)Whenunpluggingthepowercordorothercables,besuretodosobyholdingtheplugandpullingitoutsothatthepowercordorcables
arenotstrained.
(3)Followinguse,besuretoprotecttheOM-8bycoveringitwiththedustcover.
(4) WhenmovingtheOM-8,lockallofthelockhandlesandbecarefulnottobumpitintoanything.
6. Notethefollowingpointsuponstorage:
(1) Donotstoretheinstrumentinaplacewherewatermaybesplashedonit.
(2) Donotstoretheinstrumentinaplacethatmayaecttheconditionofitduetoabnormalatmosphericpressure,temperatureorhumidity
aswellaspoorventilation,exposuretodirectsunlight,dustoraircontainingsaltorsulfur.
(3) Besurethattheinstrumentisstoredonastablesurface;Donotstoreitonaslopingsurfaceorinaplacesubjecttovibrationorimpact.(Also,
avoidimpactintransport.)
(4) Donotstoretheinstrumentinaplacewherechemicalsarestoredorwhereitmaybeexposedtogas.
(5) Cleantheinstrumentpriortostoringsothatitstaysingoodconditiontillitisrequirednexttime.
7. Notethefollowingpointsuponmaintenance:
(1) Openthelamphousingsonlywhenreplacinglamps.Therearenootheruser-serviceablepartsinsidetheinstrument.
(2) Whenreplacinglamps,turntheOM-8powero,andwaittillthelampsarecoolenoughtohandle.
(3) Servicingtheinstrumentorreplacingitspartsshallonlybeperformedbyourauthorizedexperiencedtechnicians.Wearenotliablefor
anydamagescausedduetoservicingorrepairingdonebyunauthorizedpersonnel.Ovidemquuntvolestevellaproesmoluptatursunt
acimuscipicitatemlabo.Itatemeoseumfacessimporrumlitadoloribus.
