CHARGING THE BATTERY
Before you can experience all the fun and excitementof using your toy, you must charge
your Battery Pack. Follow these simple instructions for your initial charge-up and all recharges
thereafter.
1. Connect the BatteryCharger Connector into the 9.6VNiCd Rechargeable Battery Pack.
2. Plug the Battery Charger into a standard wall 120Voutlet.
3. Allow the Battery Packtocharge for 4 hours.
4. Disconnect theBattery Pack fromtheBattery Charger and removethe Battery Charger
fromthe wall outlet. It should feel warm.
Note: Battery life varies depending on usage. An averagecharge should last approximately
3 to 15 minutes. The rechargeablebattery should be charged by an adult.
Important:
-After use,the Battery Pack may behot. Allow it to cool for at least20 minutes before
recharging.
-If the Battery Pack shows signs of leakage or erosion, do notrecharge; replace it
immediately.
-DonotdisassembletheBattery Pack.
-If the battery packor charging unitbecomes wet, dry thoroughly before recharging.
-Donot use any other rechargeable battery exceptfor the standard 9.6VNiCd Battery
Pack that was intended solely for use with theproduct.
-The Battery Charger used with the toy is to be regularly examined for damage to the plug,
enclosure and other parts. In the event of such damage,the toy must not be used with
this battery charger until the damage has been repaired.
-The product is not intended for children under 3 years old.
-The product must only be used with the recommended battery charger.
-Thebattery charger is not a toy.

INSTALLATION OF BATTERIES

RemoteController:
1. Switch the power tothe"OFF"position.
2. Unscrew and removethebattery compartment cover,located on the backof the
handset, with a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Insert 1 x 9Vbattery in the proper direction as indicated inside the battery compartment.
4. Put the battery cover back on & tighten the screw securely.
5. Switch the power tothe"ON"position.
6. Push the button to the further toplay with Headlights.
Vehicle:
1. Push the button at therear top of vehicletopower off the vehicle,the green indicator
inside the small doomlocated at the top of vehicleshould be off.
2. Unscrew and remove the battery door at the backof the vehicle.
3. Plug a fully charged 9.6VNiCd Battery Pack.
4. Put the battery door back on & screw it securely.
5. Press the power button and the green indicator will turn on.
PLAYING NOTE
1)Power-on defaultset vehicleto climbing mode.
2) For both TX and vehicle,green light ON indicates the climbing mode and red light ON
indicates the fast running mode
3) Conventional bi-motor control with 2 joysticks.
4)The left trigger ring is for front swivel arm and the righttrigger ring is for rear swivel arm
5) Pull both trigger rings towards yourself to unfold the arms; keep pulling the rings and
Tarantula will stand up. Push the rings away from you to fold the arms up.
6)Press the rectangular red button to togglebetween climbing and high-speed mode.
Push both joysticks in the same direction todrive thevehicle straight backand forth toensure
good engagement of gears.)
7)Under high-speed mode, the vehicle cannot swivel arms for safety purposes.
We will add sensors to the arms later so that high speed will be trigger only when the arms are
pointing upwards. please change to climbing mode.
Climbing up and down stairs
The speed of standard climbing is 4.5 to5 seconds per step and the speed of fast climbing is
2.7 to 3 seconds per step.
Pleaserefer to the movies from timetotime and make sure you can fully understand the
climbing method.
For climbing up stairs, unfold the arms with the tip of rear arms slightly stand againstthe
ground ataround 5 to 10 to the horizontal.
This will slightly lift up the rear of the vehicle.
This is essential to avoid slipping down when climbing up steps.
Make the Tarantula run forward and stand up before and touch the vertical wall of the 1st
step with the trackgrasp on the edge of 1st step.
Swivel the front armby pulling the lefttrigger ring towards yourself.
Thefront wheels and the jaw of vehicle will siton the edge of the1ststep.
Hold thetrigger ring all the time to keep the Tarantula to climb.
The difference between standard climbing and fastclimbing is by controlling the timeto
push both joysticks.
Please pay particular attention totheswivel angle of the front arms.
For standard climbing,push and hold the joysticks only when the arms are pointing forward
horizontal and release when the arms is vertical.

For fast climbing,push the joysticks all the time tokeep thetrackruns but release only when
the swivel arm is pointing backward horizontal to vertical.
For climbing down stairs,this can be done be swiveling the front armonly, on track
movement is necessary.
So keeping push the leftring away from you and all is done.
Alternatively,you can just use tracktorun down the slope.
Please reviewthemovies thoroughly and practicetodevelop theclimbing technique for
demonstration purposes.
You can climb up or down stairs with either front or rear side of the vehicle.
However, itwill be more stable toclimbing with thefrontside.
RECHARGING THE BATTERY
After playing for approximately 5 to10 minutes, the performance of your toy will decrease. It
is time to charge your Battery Pack. Please follow the recharging instructions included with
your Battery Packand Charger. If the battery is warm, please allow up to twenty minutes for
it to cool before recharging.
OPERATIONAL TIPS AND HELPFUL HINTS
-Make sure the battery door of the toy has been screwed shut securely before playing.
-Donot operate during thunderstorms.
-When your toy starts tolose power, it may experience loss of functions or performance. If
this happens,simply recharge your Battery Pack again and/or replace the Handset
battery.
-Thetoy is operated by radiowaves. It is possible the unit will not performproperly due to
interference fromnearby devices such as a cordless phone, hair dryer, radio, walkie-
talkie or other radio-controlled toys.
-Avoid water, sand and snow when operating your toy.
-Donotsubmerge the toy or the handset in water.
-Always select a safe place toplay.
-Keep fingers, hair and loose clothing away from the propellers while thevehicle is
switched "ON."
-Please drain the water and clean the toy with a clean, dry cloth after playing.
-If thetoy or the battery is lowon power, the toy willstop running.
-Donot getyour rechargeable battery wet. If you do,dry it immediately.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
1. If your toy responds slowly or fails to operate:
-Make sure the batteries in both the Handset and toy are installed properly.
-Recharge your BatteryPack and/or replace the Handsetbattery.
-Make sure both the toy and thehandset are turned "ON."
-Make sure the Battery Contacts have not become dirty. If they have,simply brush them
with a dry cloth.
-Movetheremote control handset closer to your toy to determine the best
communication between the remote handsetand the toy.
2. Upon extensive playing, the protective circuitry may shut down the toy automatically to
avoid overheating. It is recommended toallow the toy to cool down for at least 20 minutes

before restarting. In case you really need to control the toy back,toavoid being washed
away,before resting,please restart the homing signal after one minute.
SAFETY BATTERY PRECAUTIONS
-Non-rechargeable batteries are not tobe recharged.
-Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged.
-Rechargeable batteries are only to becharged under adult supervision.
-Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to bemixed.
-Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
-Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
-Exhausted batteries are to be removed fromthe toy.
-Thesupply terminals arenotto be short-circuited.
-Donot dispose of the batteries in fire;batteries may leakor explode.
-Batteries should be replaced by an adult.
-Use alkaline batteries for better performance.
-When not in use for an extended time, remove batteries to preventpossible leakage.

-Donot use rechargeable batteries for the RemoteControl Handset.
-Not suitable for children under 3 years.
-May contain small parts.
