Remote control option:
Switching the remote control option allows you to use this remote
control to operate twoTechniSat receivers and aTechniSat television
with the same coding.
> To switch the remote control option, press the desired button
(SAT1, SAT2 or TV) and OK at the same time!!!

3 Please read first
Before you start getting the television ready for first-time use, please
make sure all the components are present in the package.
The package contains:
1 LCD television set, 1 Remote control,
1 Operating manual, 1 Guarantee card,
2 Batteries (1.5 V „micro“ AAA), 1 Offset screwdriver,
1 Mains power cable
Intended use
- Connection to mains voltage 230 V / 50 Hz.
- The TV set has been designed to receive and playback video
and audio signals only.
- The TV set is only suitable for connection to audio and video
devices, antenna systems and computers that conform to the
DIN standard and that bear the CE mark.
- The TV set is permitted to be used in private and commercial
areas, in dry rooms and under supervision.
- No other forms of utilisation are permitted under any
circumstances.
Declaration by the manufacturer
The TV set fulfils the requirements of
- EU Directive 73/23/EEC (low-voltage directive)
- EN 60065
- EU Directive 89/336/EEC (EMC directive)
- EN 55013, EN 55020, EN 60555-2 and bears the CE mark.
Care and cleaning
The housing can be wiped with a soft cloth that is only very slightly
damp.
To ensure the high-grade surface does not get damaged, do not
use any sprayed detergents or strong chemical detergents on the
housing.
You can clean the screen whilst the TV set is switched off using a
dry or only very slightly damp cloth.
You can purchase the LCD panel cleaning set from your specialised
dealer using the following designation and item no.:

Remote control / changing the batteries
> Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote
control by pressing down gently on the marked area.
> Insert the supplied batteries whilst making sure their polarity
is correct (as indicated by the markings in the battery
compartment).
> Close the battery compartment again.
Transportation
You must only transport the TV set in an upright position. When
doing so, do not hold the TV set by its loudspeakers.
Notes regarding the LCD screen
The screen you have purchased complies with the highest standards
and has been tested and classified with regard to pixel errors in
accordance with ISO 13406-2. Despite the utmost care being taken
during the manufacturing process, the occurrence of isolated pixel
display errors cannot completely be avoided for production-related
reasons. Please understand that the presence of incorrect pixels
within the scope of the ISO classification cannot be considered a
device defect in terms of the guarantee.
Safety notices
For your own protection, you should read the safety precautions
carefully before you start using your new TV set.
The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage due to
improper use or non-compliance with the safety precautions.
- The TV set must only be used in a temperate climate.
- To ensure sufficient ventilation, place the TV set on a flat, level
surface.
- Never place burning objects (e.g. lit candles) on top of the TV set.
- Do not switch on the TV set immediately after delivery or
transportation during cold weather but wait until the television‘s
temperature has reached the temperature of the surroundings.
- Do not subject the TV set to water drips or splashes and never
place objects filled with liquids (e.g. vases) on top of the TV set.
If water has entered the TV set, unplug the mains power plug
immediately and inform the service centre.
- Do not place the TV set in confined shelving or cupboards –
maintain a clearance of at least 10 cm around the TV set for
ventilation.
- The TV set has ventilation slots so that heat can escape from its
interior. Do not cover the ventilation slots with any objects, e.g.
newspapers, tablecloths, etc.
- Do not operate any sources of heat in the vicinity of the TV set
that could additionally heat up the television.
- Do not push any objects through the ventilation slots.
- If you notice that the TV set has developed a fault or if you detect
a smell or see smoke coming from the television set, you must
unplug the mains power plug immediately and inform the service
centre.
- If an electrical power failure occurs, you should switch off the TV
set at the power switch.
- If you are away for a longer period of time, you should switch
off the TV set. This extends the lifetime of the display panel and
conserves energy.
- Never open the TV set!
Contact with high-voltage components can be life-threatening!
- Any work that might need to be carried out on the TV set must
only be performed by appropriately trained persons.

- you would like to connect the device to a hi-fi or surround
unit (see item 4.) and do not want to use the device
loudspeakers.
Removing the loudspeakers
> Remove the loudspeaker cables from the connecting
terminals. For this purpose, press down the spring contact
and pull the cable out.
> Using a suitable screwdriver, loosen the fastening screws of
the loudspeaker(s) and remove it / them.

> Cover up the loudspeaker attachment openings using the
supplied covers.
Information regarding disposal
All the packaging that came with your TV set is made from
recyclable materials. Please sort the materials and dispose of
them correctly for recycling.
At the end of its lifetime, this product must not be disposed of
in the normal household waste but must be taken to a recycling
collection point for electrical and electronic appliances. The
symbol displayed on the product, the operating instructions or
packaging refers to this.
The materials can be recycled in the way indicated by their labels.
You are making an important contribution to the protection of our
environment by reusing end-of-life appliances, recycling their
materials or recycling them in other ways.
Please ask your municipal authority for information about your
local disposal site.
When the TV set is not in use for longer periods
Disconnect the mains power plug and antenna plug during
thunderstorms and when the TV set is not in use for longer
periods.
Power surges can damage the TV set.
You should disconnect the TV set from the mains power supply and
ask a qualified person for help in the following situations:
- The electrical cable is damaged.
- The TV set has been subjected to moisture or a liquid has
entered the TV set.
- The TV set is malfunctioning seriously.
- The TV set has suffered serious damage to its exterior.
Wall mounting
You can fasten your equipment to a suitable wall with an appropriate
wall bracket, e.g. TechniSat HD-Mount (Item No. 2020/2632) or
TechniSat HD-Mount LCD wall bracket (Item No.: 2020/2732).
You must first disassemble the base stand for this purpose.
Removing the base stand
> Please note, that you must remove the loudspeaker cables
from the connecting terminals before removing the base stand
of versions with bottom loudspeakers.
> Place the equipment, screen downwards, on an even surface.
Take care that the panel is not subject to any pressure and that
the LCD panel is not damaged.
Loosen and remove both marked screws.
Now carefully remove the base stand from the lower side of the
equipment.
A special additional profile is required in order to continue using
the provided loudspeakers on the version with bottom loudspeakers
after mounting on a wall. This additional profile with the following
designation and item no. is available from your specialised dealer.
HD-Vision 32: HD-Mount Adapter 32“ Item No. 0001/3240
HD-Vision 40: HD-Mount Adapter 40“ Item No. 0002/3240
Removable loudspeakers
Your device is equipped with removable loudspeakers. These can
be removed, if:
- you would like to set up the loudspeakers separately on
the loudspeaker stand (only possible for versions with side
loudspeakers).
- you would like to attach the loudspeaker to an additional
profile, after wall mounting (see item 3.8.1), (Only possible for
versions with bottom loudspeakers).
