Hardware Usage Guide
1. Insert the dowel end of the FASTENER into the
hole of the adjoining part.
NOTE: The dowel end of the FASTENER must
remain fully inserted in the hole of the adjoining
part while locking the FASTENER.
2. Tighten the FASTENER with a Phillips
screwdriver as tight as possible.

Push a TWIST-LOCK® FASTENER
into the large hole in the part.

HOW TO USE A TWIST-LOCK®FASTENER
Step 1
å Assemble your unit on a carpeted floor or on the empty
carton to avoid scratching your unit or the floor.
å To begin assembly, push two SAUDER TWIST-LOCK®
FASTENERS (10F) into the large holes in the RIGHT END (A).

Do not tighten the TWIST-LOCK®
FASTENERS in this step.

been engineered to be lighter, stronger,
faster… well ok. Not technically faster.
But definitely makes for a sturdier
L-Desk that’s easier to assemble and
friendlier to the environment.

å Separate the EXTENSION SLIDES (35MC) from the EXTENSION RAILS (35MA) as
shown in the upper diagram below. Be prepared, the parts are greasy.
å Fasten one EXTENSION RAIL (35MA) to the RIGHT END (A). Use two SILVER 1/2" FLAT
HEAD SCREWS (128S) through holes #1 and #3.
å NOTE: For the EXTENSION RAIL, turn a SCREW into the hole shown in the enlarged
diagram. Then, slide the inner cartridge of the EXTENSION RAIL in to find the other hole
that lines up with the hole in the END. Turn a SCREW into this hole.
å NOTE: The EXTENSION SLIDES (35MC) will be used later for the DRAWER.

å Push two SAUDER TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS (10F) into
the large holes in the BACK (M).
å Insert one WOOD DOWEL (15F) into the RIGHT END (A).
å Fasten the BACK (M) to the RIGHT END (A). Tighten one
TWIST-LOCK® FASTENER.
å NOTE: Be sure the WOOD DOWEL in the RIGHT END
inserts into the BACK.

the large holes in the FIXED SHELF (J).
å Fasten the FIXED SHELF (J) to the RIGHT END (A).
Tighten two TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS.

å Fasten three METAL BRACKETS (4G) to the SKIRT (K). Use three BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (1S).
å NOTE: Be sure the BRACKETS are even with the edges of the SKIRT as shown.
å Fasten the DUST RAIL (L) to the SKIRT (K). Use one BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD
SCREWS (1S) through the METAL BRACKET on the SKIRT and into the hole in the DUST RAIL.
å Insert one WOOD DOWEL (15F) into the RIGHT END (A).
å Fasten the SKIRT (K) to the RIGHT END (A). Use one BLACK 9/16" LARGE
HEAD SCREW (1S) through the METAL BRACKET on the SKIRT
and into the hole in the RIGHT END.
å NOTE: Be sure the WOOD DOWEL in the RIGHT END
inserts into the DUST RAIL (L).

å Push two SAUDER TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS (10F) into the large
holes in the UPRIGHT (Q).
å Fasten one EXTENSION RAIL (35MA) to the UPRIGHT (Q). Use two
SILVER 1/2" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (128S) through holes #1 and #3.
å NOTE: For the EXTENSION RAIL, turn a SCREW into the hole shown in
the enlarged diagram. Then, slide the inner cartridge of the EXTENSION
RAIL in to find the other hole that lines up with the hole in the UPRIGHT.
Turn a SCREW into this hole.
