Hardware Usage Guide
1. Insert the dowel end of the FASTENER into the
hole of the adjoining part.
NOTE: The dowel end of the FASTENER must
remain fully inserted in the hole of the adjoining
part while locking the FASTENER.
2. Tighten the FASTENER with a Phillips
screwdriver as tight as possible.

into the large hole in the part.

HOW TO USE A TWIST-LOCK®FASTENER
Step 1
å Assemble your unit on a carpeted floor or on the empty
carton to avoid scratching your unit or the floor.
å To begin assembly, push two SAUDER TWIST-LOCK®
FASTENERS (10F) into the large holes in the RIGHT END (A).

been engineered to be lighter, stronger,
faster… well ok. Not technically faster.
But definitely makes for a sturdier
L-Desk that’s easier to assemble and
friendlier to the environment.

å Separate the EXTENSION SLIDES (35MC) from the EXTENSION RAILS (35MA) as
shown in the upper diagram below. Be prepared, the parts are greasy.
å Fasten one EXTENSION RAIL (35MA) to the RIGHT END (A). Use two SILVER 1/2" FLAT
HEAD SCREWS (128S) through holes #1 and #3.
å NOTE: For the EXTENSION RAIL, turn a SCREW into the hole shown in the enlarged
diagram. Then, slide the inner cartridge of the EXTENSION RAIL in to find the other hole
that lines up with the hole in the END. Turn a SCREW into this hole.
å NOTE: The EXTENSION SLIDES (35MC) will be used later for the DRAWER.

å Push two SAUDER TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS (10F) into
the large holes in the BACK (M).
å Insert one WOOD DOWEL (15F) into the RIGHT END (A).
å Fasten the BACK (M) to the RIGHT END (A). Tighten one
TWIST-LOCK® FASTENER.
å NOTE: Be sure the WOOD DOWEL in the RIGHT END
inserts into the BACK.

å Fasten three METAL BRACKETS (4G) to the SKIRT (K). Use three BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (1S).
å NOTE: Be sure the BRACKETS are even with the edges of the SKIRT as shown.
å Fasten the DUST RAIL (L) to the SKIRT (K). Use one BLACK 9/16" LARGE HEAD
SCREWS (1S) through the METAL BRACKET on the SKIRT and into the hole in the DUST RAIL.
å Insert one WOOD DOWEL (15F) into the RIGHT END (A).
å Fasten the SKIRT (K) to the RIGHT END (A). Use one BLACK 9/16" LARGE
HEAD SCREW (1S) through the METAL BRACKET on the SKIRT
and into the hole in the RIGHT END.
å NOTE: Be sure the WOOD DOWEL in the RIGHT END
inserts into the DUST RAIL (L).

holes in the UPRIGHT (Q).
å Fasten one EXTENSION RAIL (35MA) to the UPRIGHT (Q). Use two
SILVER 1/2" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (128S) through holes #1 and #3.
å NOTE: For the EXTENSION RAIL, turn a SCREW into the hole shown in
the enlarged diagram. Then, slide the inner cartridge of the EXTENSION
RAIL in to find the other hole that lines up with the hole in the UPRIGHT.
Turn a SCREW into this hole.

å Insert two WOOD DOWELS (15F) into the DUST RAIL (L) and BACK (M).
å Fasten the UPRIGHT (Q) to the FIXED SHELF (J) and BACK (M). Tighten
three TWIST-LOCK® FASTENERS.
å NOTE: Be sure the WOOD DOWELS in the DUST RAIL and BACK insert
into the UPRIGHT.
å Fasten the UPRIGHT (Q) to the SKIRT (K). Use one BLACK 9/16" LARGE
HEAD SCREWS (1S) through the METAL BRACKET on the SKIRT and
into the hole in the UPRIGHT.

three BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (113S).
å NOTE: You should start each SCREW a few turns before completely tightening any of them.
å NOTE: Be sure the WOOD DOWEL in the LONG SHELF inserts into the RIGHT CORNER BACK.

å With someone's help, carefully stand the two assemblies
upright, and place them near your unit's final location.
å Fasten the LEFT CORNER BACK (F) to the RIGHT
CORNER BACK (G). Use three BLACK 1-15/16" FLAT
HEAD SCREWS (113).
å NOTE: You should start each SCREW a few turns before
completely tightening any of them.

å Peel APPLIQUES from the APPLIQUE CARDS (76P) and
stick them onto each visible SCREW head in the SHORT
MODESTY PANEL (D) and CORNER BACKS (F and G).
å Insert the GROMMETS (7P) and GROMMET CAPS (8P)
into the large holes in the CORNER BACKS (F and G).
