1. CONNECTIONS
All connections to HEIM-48 are made from the terminals on the rear of the unit .For wiring, 12 AWG (2.5mm2) wires
should be used.Always turn the device input power OFF before all service,maintenance and wiring actions.
Below indicated terminals of the device are grouped and of quick disconnec plug in type. All pins of each terminal could
be connected or disconnected to/from the device in one action. Power Supply should be turned OFF before connecting/
disconnecting the terminals.
There are 8pcs of terminal group located on the rear panle of the unit.
1. For MODBUS communication, there is a terminal of 3pins.(RS485 Terminal)
2. For power supply, there is a terminal of 4pins.(Supply Terminal)
3. There are 6 pcs of terminals of 9 pins for INPUT terminals. (The terminals which signals from the field are
connected)
1.1. COMMUNICATION TERMINAL
HEIM-48 INPUT Module is providing communication feature via MODBUS-RTU protocol. It is possible to transfer field inputs
to the HEEP-3000 RTU or SCADA via RS485 physical medium with the help of Input Modul.It is easy to connect it from the
Administrative PC via RS485/232 converter. Corresponding port terminal connection should be done as seen below.

1.2.POWER SUPPLY
HEIM-48 Input Module is to be supplied with 110/220 VDC (optionaly 24/48VDC). Supply connection should be done as
seen below.
2. FRONT PANNEL DISPLAY FUNCTIONS
LED’s on the front panel of HEIM-48 are divided into 3 main groups.

2.1. DEVİCE STATUS DISPLAYS
POWER ;
-Blinks If the device is powered and no configuration inside it,
-Solid If the device is powered and is configured,
-OFF If the device is not powred.
FAULT;
-ON If there is an internal fault in the device (Fault LED is ON If no configuration is
loaded inside it )
2.2. COMMUNICATION DISPLAYS
RS-485 LED’s; They indicate If the communication with the Operator PC or the system connected
(HEEP-3000 RTU, SCADA etc) is normal or not.

2.3. INPUT DISPLAYS
With the help of 48 pcs of LEDs, it is easy to get information related with input signals to the HEIM-48 device from the
field.In case of any ON signal to a channel,LED corresponding to the channel is to be ON.If signal is OFF, the LED goes
OFF.
Inputs and LED Displays are divided into groups of 8pcs named as A,B,C,D,E,F.

3. CONFIGURATION WITH ISPSİMTM SOFTWARE TOOL
3.1. SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION
Telepro ISPSIM™ Software setup file is provided as standard via our web site (www.telepro.com.tr) with the user
code access for customers purchasing HEIM-48.It is easy to setup software by following instructions inside the file.After
that, when ISPSIM™ tool is run, the main window seen below appears.
3.2. DEVICE PORT CONFIGURATION (ENABLING COMMUNICATION)
•Please click the button “Port Settings” on the main window.
•If you connect with the help of the RS485/232 converter,please click -Auto Detection- button on the sub menu
occuring and connect with the device.
•After detecting the device, clicking “Connect Port”button will enable communication with the device and the
submenu is then closed.

3.3.PERFORMING CONFIGURATION
Please click the “Configuration” button on the main window of Telepro ISPSIM™ tool. Below submenu called “Heim48
configuration” will be opened.For the first start of the tool, it will give a warning saying “unable to load CONFIG file”
,since there is not any configuration inside.After configuration is done, as starting the tool, it will not give such warnings.
By clicking “Configuration”
button on the main window
of ISPSIM™ It is entered to
the Config menu.
Configuration menu could be divided into 3 main
group.
1. Group shows unchanging (constant) information
loaded inside the device.
2. Group; MODBUS ID , Detection Time , Clearance
Time data is set in this group.
3. Group;Upon any parameter change is done in the
group#2, these changes should be writen to the
device. Order of the operation is to be done as
follows “Write Config”>>”Write Eeprom” >>
“Restart”. After restarting the device,It can be
controlled If the data entered by the “Read
Config” button is written or not. Other buttons (
Beckup, Restore etc) are to be used to create
devices having same configuration or used to
keep the configuration of this device in the PC for
later use.

3.4. SIMULATING HEIM-48 IN THE ISPSIM™ TOOL
By clicking “simulator” button under the HEIM-48 menu in the ISPSIM™ tool, you can enter corresponding sub Menu.
As soon as marking the “Start Scan ” box with tick in the opening simulation window, software tool starts to simulate the
device. If any input from 48pcs Inputs is activated, It will turn to red colour.
One of the most important features of HEIM-48 Input modules is event recording capability. It can save 2.000pcs of events
in the internal buffer memory. You can view all the events recorded in the device by clicking the “Show Events” button in
the simulation menu.You can clear all the recorded events from the device memory by clicking the “Erase Events” button.
You can enable event records timestamps to be synchronized from your PC by cliking the “Sync Time ” button.
The “Lamp Test” button is used to test physically all of the LEDs of HEIM-48.
3.5. HEIM-48 FW FILE UPLOAD
In this section, we will explain how to upload HEIM-48 Firmware file provided inside the tool to the device. Our device will
have the latest version of firmware as loaded when first receiving. But in case of update needed later,uploading new
firmware version will be done from this menu .
Select the file with “hex” extension
sent by ourselves and click “AC”
button.
