I. IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS REGARDING THE RECOVERY AND RECYCLING OF THIS
ELECTRONIC DEVICE
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol below indicates that this electronic equipment is intended to be
disposed in a separate collection and not in an unsorted municipal waste, in order to provide for the
treatment of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) using best available recovery and recycling
techniques.
Specific treatment for WEEE is indispensable in order to avoid the dispersion of pollutants and other
hazardous substances into the waste stream, while recycling leads to reduction of disposal of waste and the

1 INTRODUCTION
T11/T12 is a small low-cost “Solid State” advanced technology electronic devices that connects to one or
two analog telephone lines or through a switchboard (PBX), to perform Opening Greeting service and
Vocal Guide Automated Attendant for small/medium PBXs connected to analog or ISDN external lines.
The unit is available in one (T11) or two port (T12). It can be connected to analog telephone lines derived
from the PBX. Operational modes and opening greeting messages are entirely programmable from the user.
The recording of welcome messages for day and night services can be performed simply calling one of the
lines connected to unit (from a DTMF phone), introducing the password for configuration services protection
and operating according to vocal guides.
Messages recording and system configuration can be performed also from remote access simply calling the
unit. The configuration of unit services is multilevel password protected.
T11/T12 is available with minimum 4 minutes solid state memory: the first two minutes can be used to record
up to 4 opening greetings for different operating modes (Day/Night/Festivity/Holiday and other services), the
two remaining minutes include pre-recorded bilingual messages (Italian and English) in order to help system
administrator in unit’s programming and customization.
So, T11/T12 can be used to cover several applications if properly programmed.
The picture below shows a typical PBX downstream connection used to divert calls (directed to operator
console) to T11/T12 internal PBX lines.
T11/T12 implements the following services:
•Opening greeting for information service, announcement and call release
•Opening greeting and forwarding to operator console
•Opening greeting during closing time and receiving vocal messages in answering machine
•Opening greeting with Automated Attendant
•Message in answering machine notification (optional)
•Inputs connectable to alarm contacts for telephone dialer function
•Remote control relay contact for remote actuation of low power loads
•Access to telephone line from outside with expense charging to office by using call divert service
•Music on hold output with customized message stored on EPROM memory (optional board

2 SERVICES
2.1 Opening Greeting
Connected downstream of the PBX, T11/T12 answers to calls on two lines simultaneously, playing a pre-
recorded greeting message to callers. At the end of the call, after a programmable number of current replay
message, the unit releases the line with an announcement and it’s now ready to receive new incoming call.
It’s a typical service used during company closing time or for simple information.
2.2 Opening Greeting and redirection to Operator Console
T11/T12 can be programmed to redirect the caller to the operator Console when the greeting message is
finished. In this way the unit will be ready to receive new calls. Useful with opening greeting service in most
types of PBX.
2.3 Opening Greeting with answering machine service
If the answering machine isn’t full, the unit enables a caller to leave a message in the answering machine
when opening greeting has finished. Typical service for closing, holiday and break time. Up to 16 messages
can be stored in the answering machine.
2.4 Opening Greeting with Automated Attendant service
The unit’s automated attendant answers incoming calls and through a series of recorded menus and
telephone directories, helps the callers reach the desired extensions or a particular department such as
management, technical support, etc. At the end of the opening greeting, callers can hold the line for the
operator console (or a particular default extension) redirection. Otherwise the unit releases the line without
any transfer after opening greeting, if programmed.
During greeting message, callers can access a department or extension by dialing a single digit. For
example, the message could be the following one: “Press 1 for technical support, 2 for business department,
please hold the line to be connected with the operator”. Digits are associated with the PBX’s extensions (for
example digit 1 with extension 118 etc.) as the user couldn’t know the real called extension, making
T11/T12’s use quite easy. However, privileged callers can also dial the extensions number, if known, instead
of single digits.
2.5 Music on Hold (optional)
During line holding and transfers, callers can listen a further holding message with background music
(optionally programmed by the administrator). Music on hold is available only with the T7005/32 optional
board. (Music on hold input must be necessarily available on the PBX)
2.6 Optional Solid State answering machine
Answering machine maximum storage is 16 messages. The unit automatically notifies the user of new
messages and play-back may be local or remote. Answering Machine service is only embedded in
T11S/T12S version but it can be afterwards integrated in T11/T12 basic versions with T7006/24 (for T11)
and T7006/28 (for T12) boards adding. From 1.14 firmware version, T11S/T12S can triplicate the length of
recordable messages if you renounce answering machine service (see Section 10.1).
2.7 Remote control relay contact
Remote control relay contact allows you to actuate a relay for remotely turning any low power device in your
office off and on (impulse or stable mode). 220V supply loads need power relay to be managed. The service
is entirely programmable from a DTMF telephone and it’s password protected.
2.8 Telephone dialer
T11/T12 has two alarm contacts to provide a simple and efficient telephone dialer function. When the contact
closes it enables a call to two different programmable numbers, one for each alarm contact, in order to notify
the assigned personnel about the remote alarm.
2.9 Call diverter service
When this service is enabled, incoming call from privileged users can be transferred to another outbound
analog telephone line from the same PBX (if this function is available on the PBX).

Operating mode switching Depending on the time and system schedule, the unit answers external calls
with 4 opening greeting: Day, Night, Festivity, Holiday modes. Switching can
be performed either manually simply calling one of the lines connected
to the unit or automatically using an external timer or diverter.
Alarm telephone dialer Monitoring circuits for 2 alarm contacts that, if enabled triggers the function of
notifying two different telephone numbers, one per alarm, with the possibility
of automatic recall until silenced by assigned personnel with the appropriate
password, or upon the expiration of the specified attempts.
Remote control relay contact Output circuit of a contact with enabling memory to protect against possible
failure of remote-controllable network by telephone call with appropriate
password protecting the function. For small, low-voltage electrical loads do
not exceed 50 VAC, 200 mA for safety reasons.

Answering machine Up to 16 recordable messages of 30 seconds can be stored in the Answering
Machine. The length and number of messages can be modified. The unit
automatically notifies the user of new messages by calling a user-defined
number (that can be modified by entering in configuration mode.

4.1 Accessories Provided With The Basic T11/T12 System
We recommend leaving all materials not used at the time of installation and the documentation together with
the system so that it can always be found in case checks or future regulations make it necessary.
When the installation is finished, it’s necessary to perform an operating mode test for each line, switching the
system to night mode in order to verify all basic opening greeting stored in the unit.

5 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
5.1 General description of opening greeting service
Four working modes are available with T11/T12. T11 accepts incoming call, plays the opening greeting
message associated to current mode for different times and after this, caller can interact with the system.
T11/T12 will therefore perform one of the following operations:
•It goes to “on hold” mode with the closing greeting, “End of the Service”
•It connects caller and operator
•It connects caller with the desired extension after caller’s DTMF digit selection
•It connects caller with the desired extension after caller’s DTMF extension selection
•It allows recording message in mailbox
The call transfer to a PBX’s extension is performed with the following operations:
•While caller is listening to music on hold, the unit calls the desired extension
•It detects if the extension is busy (tone recognition)
•If free, T11/T12 connects called and caller, releases the line and it’s ready to accept a new call.
•If busy, it transfers the call to the operator console
No control on possible busy state of the operator is performed: the PBX must be able to queue incoming
calls. After the extension’s number selection, the unit plays “Incoming call” message in order to notify called
person.
5.2 Automated Attendant service: a detailed example
The unit’s operating mode is described as follows:
•It accepts incoming call and answers
•It plays an opening greeting to callers (one or more times)
•If it receives a DTMF tone, it breaks message playback and sets a 3 seconds service delay
•When delay is expired, it verifies if only a single digit or a complete selection (max 3 digit) has been
received
•If only a single digit arrives, it verifies if the digit is associated to any extension number
•If it doesn’t find any association, it plays “Invalid selection” message
•If it find the associated extension, it puts on hold the caller and calls the extension required
•If it detects busy, it transfers the call to operator and when the call’s transfer is finished, it releases
the line
•If it receives more than one DTMF digit, it puts on hold the caller and dials the number received. No
control is performed before dialing this number
•If it receives a busy tone, it sends the call to the operator and it releases the line after dialing
•If it does not receive any digit, T11/T12 dials the number programmed as operator and releases the
line
5.3 Automated Attendant and Answering System service: a detailed example
The unit’s operating mode is described as follows:
•After the answer, when opening greeting has finished, the unit will announce “Press 0 to leave a
message” (parameter 30=0), if parameter 30=1 then the unit will accept the message with no
condition
•If the caller does not dial digit “0”, T11/T12 goes on with normal operational mode
•If caller dials “0” (or parameter 30=1) the unit will announce “Please leave a message after the tone”
and plays one second beep
•Caller takes a message of customized length (parameter 29), the unit releases the line later.
CAUTION:if system storage is full, the “take a message” announce will not played as far as the user deletes
old messages in mailbox.
