Warning:
If this equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the equipment
may be impaired. In particular, excessive moisture may impair operation.
The equipment is for indoor use only. The equipment is not designed for use in an explosive atmosphere.

Chapter 2 Installation
2.1. Parts Included
2.1.1. Load Capacity
Once installed, each PWA120 adapter plate can accommodate up to 40 kg (88 lbs) of vertical load.
Warning
Do not exceed the 40 kg (88 lbs) maximum vertical load capacity for each adapter plate.

2.2. Fitting to a PFR Series Rigid Mount Frame
1. Slide the adapter into place over the mount.
2. Align the four outer holes on frame top plate with the holes in the adapter plate. The adapter plate can be rotated
90 degrees if a different orientation is required.
3. Using the included 5 mm hex key, M6 washers and M6 x 15 mm screws, attach adapter plate to the breadboard
frame.

2.3. Fitting to a PFP Series Standard Passive Mount Frame
1. Slide the adapter into place over the body of the passive mount.
2. Align the four outer holes on frame top plate with the holes in the adapter plate. The adapter plate can be rotated
90 degrees if a different orientation is required.
3. Using the included 5 mm hex key, M6 washers and M6 x 15 mm screws, attach adapter plate to the breadboard
frame.

2.4. Fitting to a PFH Series Heavy Duty Passive Mount Frame
1. Remove and discard the screws from the passive mount, but leave the mount in place.
2. Slide the adapter into place over the body of the passive mount.
3. Align the four outer holes on frame top plate with the holes in the adapter plate. The adapter plate can be rotated
90 degrees if a different orientation is required.
4. Using the included 5 mm hex key, M6 washers and M6 x 18 mm screws, attach adapter plate to breadboard frame.

2.5. Installing a 1.5” Post
1. If fitted, remove and discard the long M16 bolt from the base of the 1.5” post but retain the washers.
2. Align the post with one of the three post holes on the adapter plate (central hole recommended).
3. Using the washers removed at item (1), and the included M16 x 35 mm bolt and 14 mm hex key, attach the post to
the adapter plate.
Note
If using 2 posts on 1 adapter plate, use the two outer mounting holes.
It is not possible to use 3 posts on a single adapter plate.

2.6. Installing Two 1.5” Posts and a Shelf
Breadboard frames with a length or width of 900 mm or 1200 mm are compatible with the overhead shelves
(PSY221, PSY223, PSY222 and PSY224). This configuration requires 2 posts and 2 adapters.
Caution: To avoid a risk of tipping the frame…
Do not push/pull laterally on the posts as this may cause the table frame to tip over.
High loads should be placed on a shelf in a lower position, otherwise the stability of the frame could be affected.
The center-of-mass of the experimental setup as a whole, should remain within the frame area.
Do not exceed the vertical load capacity of 40 kg (88 lbs) for each adapter plate.
1. Following the procedure detailed in sections 2.2 to 2.4,fit the adapters in the orientation shown below, i.e. on
opposite frame legs, facing away from each other.
2. Using the central hole, fit one post to each adapter plate as detailed in section 2.5.
3. Fit the shelf to the posts in accordance with the instructions supplied with the shelf.

2.7. Installing Other Accessories
Caution: To avoid a risk of tipping the frame…
Do not push/pull laterally on the posts as this may cause the table frame to tip over.
High loads should be placed in a low position, otherwise the stability of the frame could be affected.
The center-of-mass of the experimental setup as a whole, should remain within the frame area.
Do not exceed the vertical load capacity of 40 kg (88 lbs) for each adapter plate.
The adapter plates can also be used to fit both imperial and metric breadboards or other accessories, using
the 4 M6 (1/4”) clearance holes shown below.
