1 Introduction
The ACE TCB-O (Tower Connection Box - Open Access) is
a robust metal wallbox and is used for the broadband
network build up in multi dwelling units and huge real estate
facilties. The compact box with dimension: H= 80 x W 43 x
D 22,5 cm allows the installation in areas with limited space.
The box is available in different versions, like fully equipped
version, as well as an empty box and it can be individually
customized configured using the ACE-Code configurator
tool.
This box is designed so that all apartments of a building are
connected to the wall box and the fiber connection is made
via pre-assembled splitters (PON). The first-supplying
network operator can connect the subscriber in the main
unit of the box by means of a splice connection.
The open access option for accessing a 2nd operator is
made without access to the connection area of the first
supplier or owner, via the permanently integrated lateral
patch box by direct connection with patch cable.

2.2 Basic pre-assembled setup
Above the routing block, the splice trays for splicing
the splitter input fibers from the splitter trays are mounted.
The input fibers are routed accordingly.
From the splitter tray, the output fibers are fed to the sub-
scriber splice tray above them. Above this are the patch
trays with the LC/APC duplex adapter . In the tray, 4
pigtails are terminated on the input side of the adapter
and the fiber is stored in the tray for splicing on to the cables
coming from the subscriber (4 fibers).
The output patch port 3 + 4 is connected by the patch
cables to the adapter in the patchfield box for open
access functionality. These patch cables are accordingly
protected routed/pre-installed within the base and is
parked at the parking panel for terminating a second
operator.
At the output port 1 + 2, the two pigtails for the service
activation with the operator are routed to the corresponding
subscriber tray . The red pigtail is planned to connect e.g.
the TV signal and gets spliced to the corresponding fiber of
the splitter output in the tray. The green pigtail for the IT
service gets in the subscriber tray directly spliced to the
corresponding fiber of the operator.

3 Installation of the TCB-O
3.1 Preparation
Before installing the TCB distribution box on the wall, please
mark the recommended minimum space requirement of
approx. 1,200 x 550mm (H x W). The distance to the ceiling
should not be less than 200mm if possible to provide safe
access to the screwing of the Entry box cover.
The left starting position of the distribution box depends on
the cable routing from the ceiling, or from the side so that
these can be inserted into the entry box on the left side,
taking into account the minimum bend radius.
If cables from the subscriber or the operator are already in
place for later termination in the distribution box, ensure that
they have sufficient space for safe installation.
3.2 Installation
Take the keys for the locks at the cover and unlock the
locks. Remove the cover and set it aside.
Loosen the two screws on the cover of the entry box only
until you can remove the cover. Also place the cover to the
side and tighten the screws slightly so that they are not lost.
Unlock the cover of the patchfield box with the key and open
the hinged cover.
To open the pivotable tray holder, you must unlock the bolt
at the top.

3.2.1 Wall mounting
Note: Check in advance whether cables are laid in the
mounting area.
Align the TCB at the wall and observe the required working
space. Mark the mounting positions. Below you will find the
corresponding dimensions for the drilling pattern.
Drill the appropriate holes into the wall, insert the plugs and
screw the distribution box to the wall without distortion with
the screws. Coarse unevenness must be compensated
accordingly if necessary.
After the wall installation is complete, you can close the
cover of the patchfield box again, as this access is not
required for further installation.

5 Cable routing and installation
5.1 Cable feed from the operator
The C-rails allows the use of ACE Tube clips for fixation of
cable protection tubes or cable. It is recommended to use
them.
Note: Tube clips are not included in the shipment, they
must be separate ordered as accessory item.
For example click the Tube clips into the profile rails. Take
the accessories kit from the shipment and seal at both ends
with the 4 round foam the rails.
The feeder cable of the operator (e.g. 48 fibers in 4 buffer
tubes) is inserted at the top position in the tube clip at the
rails and routed through the foam sealing via the upper
radius limiter into the base to the lateral cable clamp.
Select the center of the strain relief positions on the cable
sheath. Likewise, mark as well the stripping position of the
cable sheath approx. 2cm below the clamp position of the
cable tie wrap.
Foam adhesive tape is applied to the center markings of the
strain relief around the cable sheath.
Remove the cable sheath, in accordance to instruction of
the cable manufacturer over a length of approx. 4m. Then
fix the cable with cable ties at the clamp and fix, if applicable
the central cable strength member at the intended position
at the clamping plates.
Combine the individual loose tubes into one strand.

Route the loose tubes to the back of the splice tray holder
in a bow as shown in the figure. Route them through the
cable clips as shown and make a complete loop, this
ensures the correct routing and storage of required slack.
By a additional loop, a corresponding extra length can be
added.
Then pass the remaining loose tube length of approx. 1.8m
through the cut out onto the front of the splice tray holder.
Move the splice tray holder back to the starting position.
Remove the routing block's cover and then route the loose
tubes into the tube holder.

5.1.1 Feeder cable fiber layout plan
Via the left guide channel, only the fibers that are spliced
onto the input fiber of the splitters are fed to the splice trays
for splitter input 1 and 2. (orange colored trays) (In the
appendix under chapter 8 you will find an enlarged figure)
In the splice tray, according to the figure, the direction of the
feeder cable fiber is changed, since both the splitter input
fiber from the above splitter trays and the feeder cable fiber
are fed from the left hand channel to the tray.
The fibers to the subscriber trays are fed via the right guide
channel. In these trays, the fibers from the patch trays are
already pre-assembled at the factory and stored.
The fibers of the feeder cable gets in these trays directly
spliced onto the green-colored pigtails for providing the
subscriber with the IT services.
5.1.2 Splitter output fibers
The splitter output fibers from the orange-colored splitter
trays are fed via the right guide channel to the
corresponding subscriber tray, according to the splicing plan
and gets spliced onto the red-colored pigtail.

5.2 Cable feed from the subscriber
The access cables of the subscribers (e.g. 4 fiber MDIC
cable) are fed just as the feeder cable from the operator
through the entry box.
Approx. 20 cm long in-building cable protection tubes are
inserted into the tube clips for managed cable feeding.
The first row of the Tube Clip is already pre-assembled (see
5.1), the second row of tube clip is applied if necessary on
top of the first row (check the ACE tube clip manual for
advice). Add the protection tubes as required.
Insert the individual MDIC cables with a diameter of 3.7 mm
through the cable protection tube at a length of approx.
3.4m. Press them, like the feeder cable into the foam seal
and route the cable via the cable routing bracket in the base
downwards and put it through the cut out of the base onto
the front. Bundle all cables slightly after the installation.
Move the splice tray holder back to the starting position and
fix it.
The passed through MDIC cables with a remaining length of
approx. 2.2m are now guided in a light bow to the front of
the splice tray holder and fed to the routing block around the
radius limiter.
Remove the routing block cover and route the cable into the
tube holder on the right hand side.
Match the loose tubes on the tube holder and mark the
tubes appx. 1cm above the tube holder. (see 5.1)
Strip the cable and clean the fibers in accordance to
the cable manufacturer instructions.
Route the cable and fibers back to the routing block.
Snap the cables from the front into the tube holder. The
