IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances especially when children are present, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of re, electric shock, and/or
injury to persons, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. To protect against electrical shock, do not place cord, plug or appliance in water or
other liquid.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking o󰀨 parts, and before
cleaning.
5. Do not pull, twist or otherwise abuse cord.
6. Avoid contact with moving parts.
7. Do not operate any electrical appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after
appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return
appliance to nearast authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
8. Do not let power cord hang over edge of a table or countertop (where it can be
accidentally pulled) or touch any hot surface.
9. Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes.
10. Never operate any appliance on top of a non-heat-resistant or ammable surface.
11. Never leave appliance unattended when in use.
12. Do not place appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven
or microwave.
13. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual.
14. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause
re, electric shock or injury.
15. Do not open pressurized (aerosol-type) cans.
16. Do not open cans of ammable liquids such as lighter uid.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PRODUCT MAY VARY SLIGHTLY FROM ILLUSTRATIONS
This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into an AC electrical
outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.
CORD PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the
risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t fully into a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not t into the outlet, reverse the plug and try again. If it still does not t,
contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement
or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may
be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord
or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least
as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it rmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are

found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced.
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress
on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF
APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
IMPORTANT
During the rst few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke and/or a slight odor.
This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been
used a few more times.
USING YOUR CAN OPENER
1. Raise Lever, place arm under the guide bar and against the geared wheel.
2. Press down on lever to pierce lid of can. This automatically starts the cutting action.
The can opener will continue to cut until the lid is completely severed from the can.
3. Grasp the can, then raise the lever to release the can.
4. Carefully slide the lid away from the magnet, using caution to avoid being injured by
the sharp edge of the lid. NOTE: Can opener should be turned o󰀨 for one minute
after operating for 5 minutes.
TO USE THE KNIFE SHARPENER
1. Turn the unit sideways so that the knife sharpener is to the right.
2. Place heel of blade lightly in groove. Apply a slight downward pressure on the blade
as it is drawn toward you with a slow, even motion.
3. Repeat procedure 4 or 5 times until desired degree of sharpness is achieved.
SPECIAL ATTENTION
Blades to be sharpened should be clean. Do not sharpen knives that have serrated
blades.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance requires little maintenance and contains no user serviceable parts. Do
not try to x it yourself. Refer it to qualied service personnel if servicing is needed.
TO CLEAN
Unplug unit from electrical outlet. To remove lever, hold can opener facing you. Lift the
lever upward and gently pull toward you. Wash lever in warm, soapy water and wipe
outside surfaces of unit with a damp cloth. NEVER IMMERSE UNIT IN WATER. To
replace the lever, hold the can opener facing you with the lever in the lifted position, and
put the long pivot into the pivot hole. Be sure to push completely into pivot hold. Then
let lever drop back onto top of can opener. I you do not push lever completely into hold,
it will not drop back onto top of opener.
TO STORE
Unplug can opener and store in its box or in a dry place. Store the cord in the cord
storage compartment at the back of the unit. Never wrap it tightly around the unit.
Do not put any stress on cord where it enters the appliance as it may cause the cord to
fray and possiby break.

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
SELECT BRANDS, INC. warrants, subject to the conditions stated below, that from the date of
purchase, this product will be free from mechanical defects for a period of one (1) year. SELECT
BRANDS, INC., at its option, will repair or replace this product found to be defective during the
warranty period. Should this product become defective by reason of improper workmanship or
material defect during the specied warranty period, Select Brands, Inc. will repair or replace the
same e󰀨ecting all necessary parts replacements for a period of one year from the date of purchase.
Transportation charges on parts, or products in whole, submitted for repair or replacement, under
this warranty, must be borne by the purchaser.
CONDITIONS: This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail
purchase and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to
obtain warranty service or replacement. Dealers, service centers, or retail stores do not have the
right to alter, modify or in any way, change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
Warranty registration is not necessary to obtain warranty on Select Brands, Inc. products. Save
your proof of purchase receipt.
ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT WARRANTY: Most warranty repairs are handled routinely, but
sometimes requests for warranty service may not be appropriate. For example, warranty service
would NOT apply if the product damage occurred because of misuse, lack of routine maintenance,
shipping, handling, warehousing or improper installation. Similarly, the warranty is void if the
manufacturing date or the serial number on the product has been removed or the equipment has
been altered or modied. During the warranty period, the authorized service dealer, at its option,
will repair or replace any part that, upon examination, is found to be defective under normal use
and service.
NORMAL WEAR: This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any
of the following: Negligent use or misuse of the product; Improper voltage or current; Use contrary
to the operation instructions; Deviation from instructions regarding storage and transportation;
Repair or alteration by anyone other than SELECT BRANDS, INC. or an authorized service center.
Further, the warranty does not cover Acts of God, such as re, ood, hurricanes and tornadoes.
SELECT BRANDS, INC. shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by
the breach of any express or implied warranty. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law,
any implied warranty of merchantability or tness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the
duration of the above warranty. Some states, provinces or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion
or limitation of incidental o consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty
lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specic
legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state or province to province.
HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE: You must contact SELECT BRANDS, INC. Customer
Service at 1-913-663-4500. A Customer Service representative will attempt to resolve warranty
issues over the phone. If telephone resolution is not possible, the Customer Service representative
will require your assistance in performing routine diagnostic procedures. This warranty is e󰀨ective
for the time periods listed above and subject to the conditions provided for in this policy.
