1 INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the TOPCOM Twintalker 1302. It’s a short range, low powered radio communication device
that has no running costs other than the minimal cost of re-charging the batteries.
The TwinTalker 1302 operates on Private Mobile Radio frequencies and can be used in any country where the service
is authorised as indicated on the packing box and in this manual.
2 INTENDED PURPOSE:
It can be used for different professional as well as for recreational purposes. For example: to keep in contact during
travelling with 2 or more cars, biking, skiing. It can be used to keep in contact with your children when they are playing
outside, etc...

4 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 GENERAL
Please read carefully through the following information concerning safety and proper use. Make yourself familiar with
all functions of the device. Keep this manual on a safe place for future use.
4.2 BURNING INJURIES
• If the cover of the antenna is damaged, do not touch because when an antenna comes in contact with the skin, a
minor burn may result when transmitting.
• Batteries can cause property damage such as burns if conductive material such as jewellery, keys or beaded
chains touches exposed terminals.The material may complete an electrical circuit (short circuit) and become quite
hot. Exercise care in handling any charged battery, particularly when placing it inside a pocket, purse or other con-
tainer with metal objects.
4.3 PERSONAL SAFETY
• Do not place your device in the area over an air bag or in the air bag deployment area. Air bags inflate with great
force. If a communicator is placed in the bag deployment area and the air bag inflates, the communicator may be
propelled with great force and cause serious injury to the occupants of the vehicle.
• Keep the radio at least 15 centimetres away from a pacemaker.
• Turn your radio OFF as soon as interference is taking place with medical equipment.
• Do not replace batteries in a potentially explosive atmosphere. Contact sparking may occur while installing or
removing batteries and cause an explosion.
• Turn your communicator off when in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere. Sparks in such areas could
cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death.
• Never throw batteries in fire as they may explode.
Restriction:
Check the local regulations before using it outside the country where it was
purchased. The standard may be prohibited in this country.
Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres are often, but not always, clearly
marked. They include fuelling areas such as below deck on boats, fuel or chemical
transfer or storage facilities; areas where the air contains chemicals or particles,
such as grain, dust or metal powders; and any other area where you would
normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.

4.4 POISONING DANGER
• Keep batteries away from small children
4.5 LEGAL
• In some countries it is prohibited to use your PMR while driving a vehicle. In this case leave the road before using
the device.
• Turn your unit OFF when on board an aircraft when instructed to do so. Any use of the unit must be in accordance
with airline regulations or crew instructions.
• Turn your unit OFF in any facilities where posted notices instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health care facilities
may be using equipment that is sensitive to external RF energy.
• Replacing or modifying the antenna may affect the PMR radio specifications and violate the CE regulations.
Unauthorised antennas could also damage the radio.
4.6 NOTES
• Do not touch the antenna while transmitting, it could affect the range.
• Remove the battery if the device is not going to be used for a long period.
5 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• To clean the unit, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water. Don’t use a cleaner or solvents on the unit; they can
damage the case and leak inside, causing permanent damage.
• Battery contacts may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
• If the unit gets wet, turn it off and remove the batteries immediately. Dry the battery compartment with a soft cloth
to minimize potential water damage. Leave the cover off the battery compartment overnight or until completely
dry. Do not use the unit until completely dry.
6 DISPOSAL OF THE DEVICE (ENVIRONMENT)
At the end of the product lifecycle, you should not throw this product into the normal household garbage
but bring the product to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipments. The
symbol on the product, user guide and/or box indicate this.
Some of the product materials can be re-used if you bring them to a recycling point. By re-using some
parts or raw materials from used products you make an important contribution to the protection of the
environment. Please contact your local authorities in case you need more information on the collection
points in your area.
7 USING A PMR DEVICE
To communicate between PMR devices they need to be set all on the same channel and within receiving range (up to
max. 5 km in open field). Since these devices use free frequency bands (channels), all devices in operation share these
channels(total 8 channels). Therefore, privacy is not garanteed. Anybody with a PMR set to your channel can overhear
the conversation.
If you want to communicate (transmitting a voice signal) you need to press the - button (Push to talk). Once this
button pressed, the device will go into transmit mode and you can speak into the microphone. All other PMR devices
in range , on the same channel and in standby mode (not transmitting) will hear your message. You need to wait until
the other party stops transmitting before you can reply to the message. At the end of each transmission the unit will
send a beep. To reply, just press the - button and speak into the microphone.

If 2 or more users press the - button at the same time the receiver will receive
only the stongest signal and the other signal (s) will be supressed. Therefore you
should only transmit a signal (press - button) when the channel is free .

8 GETTING STARTED
8.1 REMOVING/INSTALLING THE BELT CLIP
1.To remove the clip from the unit, push the belt clip (2) towards
the antenna, while pulling the clip tab (1).
2.When re-installing the belt clip, a click indicates the BeltClip is
locked into position.
8.2 BATTERY INSTALLATION
1.Remove the belt clip (§ 8.1).
2.Pull the battery door tab down (3) and slide the battery cover
away from the antenna. (4)
3.Install 3‘AAA’ alkaline or rechargeable batteries following the
polarity as shown.
4.Re-install the Battery Cover and Belt Clip (§ 8.1).

The BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL is indicated by the number of squares present inside the BATTERY icon on the LCD
Screen.

When the BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL is low, the BATTERY icon will flash to indicate that the batteries need to be
replaced or recharged.
12 CHARGING RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
The PMR can be used with 3 alcaline or rechargeable NiMh AAA batteries.
When using rechargeable batteries you can use the optional adapter to charge.
• Insert 3 “AAA” rechargeable batteries.
• Plug the small plug of the 7,5 V DC / 200 mA adapter into the SPK/MIC/CHG jack and the
other end in the electrical socket.
• Make sure that the unit is switched off in order to charge the batteries properly. There is no
charge indicator during charging at OFF mode.
NOTE: It takes approximately 7 to 10 hours to fully charge the batteries.

13.1 TURNING THE UNIT ON/OFF
• To activate; press and hold . The unit will “beep” and the LCD Screen will display the current channel.
• To switch off; press and hold again. The unit will “beep” and the LCD Screen will turn blank.

Dispose of batteries at a designated battery disposal unit and
not in the household waste. Do not short-circuit & dispose of in
fire. Remove the batteries if this device is not going to be used
for a long period.
Only use the AC/DC ADAPTER with “AAA” rechargeable batteries. Do not try to charge
this unit when regular “AAA” alkaline batteries are installed.

13.2 ADJUSTING SPEAKER VOLUME
The Speaker Volume can be adjusted using / . The Speaker Volume level is displayed on the
LCD.
13.3 RECEIVING A SIGNAL
The unit is continuously in the RECEIVE mode when the unit is ON and not transmitting. When you
receive a signal on the current channel, the RX icon is displayed.
13.4 TRANSMITTING A SIGNAL
• Press and hold to TRANSMIT.
• Hold the unit in a vertical position with the MICROPHONE 10 cm from the mouth and speak into the
microphone.
• Release when you have finished transmitting.
13.5 CHANGING CHANNELS
The PMR has 8 available channels.
To change channels:
• Press once, the current channel number flashes on the LCD Screen.
• Press or to change the channel.
• Press to confirm the channel selection and return to NORMAL mode.
NOTE: Any PMR set on the same channel can receive and listen to the conversation.
13.6 MONITOR
You can use the MONITOR feature to check for weaker signals in the current channel.
• Press button for normal monitoring .
• Press and hold . After 5 seconds you can release the button. You are now continuous monitoring the channel
until you press again.
13.7 CHANNEL SCAN
CHANNEL SCAN performs searches for active signals in an endless loop from channel 1 to 8.
• Press and hold and for 2 seconds.
• Release the buttons.The channel on the display changes as it scans through the channels.
• When an active signal (one of 8 channels) is detected, CHANNEL SCAN pauses and you will hear the
active signal.
• When an active signal (one of 8 channels) is detected, press or to bypass the current channel
and continue to search for another active channel
• Press to communicate through the active signal channel or press to deactivate channel
scan.

13.8 BUTTON LOCK
• Press and hold for 2 seconds to activate or deactivate the BUTTON LOCK mode. The BUTTON
LOCK icon is displayed on the LCD Screen.
• Press and hold again to deactivate BUTTON LOCK
13.9 CALL TONES
A call tone alerts others that you want to talk.
a. Setting the Call Tone
5 different Call Tones can be selected.
• Press 2 times. CA will be displayed.
• Press or to select another call tone or select OF to enable call tones.
• Press to confirm your selection and return to the standby mode.
b. Sending a call Tone
Press briefly. The call tone will be transmitted for 3 seconds on the set channel.
13.10 KEY-TONE ON/OFF
When a button is pressed, the unit will beep briefly.
To set the key-tone.
• Press 3 times. ‘to’ will be displayed.
• Press to enable (ON) or disable the key-tone (OF).
• Press to confirm your selection and return to the standby mode.
13.11 ROGER BEEP ON/OFF
After the - button is released, the unit will send out a roger beep to confirm that you have stopped talking.
To set the Roger Beep.
• Press 4 times. ‘ro’ will be displayed.
• Press to enable (ON) or disable the Roger-Beep (OF).
• Press to confirm your selection and return to the standby mode.
13.12 HEADSET CONNECTION
The Twintalker 1302 can be used with an external microphone and speaker.
The connector is located under the protective rubber cover on the top of the unit.To attach the
external speaker/microphone headsets or earpiece, lift the rubber flap on the top of the unit to
expose the connector.
Insert the appropriate plug into the connector.

15 WARRANTY
15.1 WARRANTY PERIOD
Topcom units have a 24-month warranty period. The warranty period starts on the day the new unit is purchased.
Consumables or defects causing a negligible effect on operation or value of the equipment are not covered.
The warranty has to be proven by presentation of a copy of the original purchase receipt, on which the date of purchase
and the unit-model are indicated.
15.2 WARRANTY HANDLING
A faulty unit needs to be returned to an authorized service centre including a valid purchase note. If the unit develops
a fault during the warranty period, the service centre will repair any defects caused by material or manufacturing faults
free of charge.
The service centre will at its discretion fulfil its warranty obligations by either repairing or exchanging the faulty units or
parts of the faulty units. In case of replacement, colour and model can be different from the original purchased unit.
The initial purchase date shall determine the start of the warranty period. The warranty period is not extended if the unit
is exchanged or repaired by the appointed service centres.
15.3 WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
Damage or defects caused by incorrect treatment or operation and damage resulting from use of non-original parts or
accessories are not covered by the warranty.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by outside factors, such as lightning, water and fire, nor any damage
caused during transportation.
No warranty can be claimed if the serial number on the unit has been changed, removed or rendered illegal.

1 INLEIDING
Hartelijk dank voor het aanschaffen van de TOPCOM Twintalker 1302. Dit is een radiocommunicatieapparaat met een
kort bereik en een laag vermogen. Er zijn geen gebruikskosten, op de minimale kosten na van het opladen van de
batterijen. De Twintalker 1302 werkt op radiofrequenties voor particulier mobiel radioverkeer (PMR) en kan worden
gebruikt in alle landen waar deze service is toegestaan. U vindt de lijst van landen op de verpakking en in deze
handleiding.
2 GEBRUIKSDOEL:
Het toestel kan worden gebruikt voor verschillende professionele en recreatieve doeleinden. Bijvoorbeeld: om contact
te houden wanneer u op reis bent in 2 of meer voertuigen of tijdens het fietsen of skieën. Ook kunt u hiermee contact
houden met uw kinderen, bv. wanneer zij buiten spelen.
3 CE-MARKERING
Dit product voldoet aan de basiseisen en andere relevante bepalingen van R&TTE-richtlijn 1999/5/EG. Dit wordt

4 VEILIGHEIDSINSTRUCTIES
4.1 ALGEMEEN
Lees de volgende informatie over de veiligheid en een correct gebruik zorgvuldig door. Stel u op de hoogte van alle
functies van het toestel. Bewaar deze handleiding op een veilige plaats voor later gebruik.
4.2 BRANDWONDEN
• Raak de antenne niet aan als de afdekking van de antenne is beschadigd, want als een antenne in contact komt
met de huid bij het zenden, kan dit leiden tot kleine brandwonden.
• Batterijen kunnen schade aan materiaal veroorzaken, bijvoorbeeld brandplekken, als geleidend materiaal (zoals
sieraden, sleutels of kralenkettingen) in aanraking komt met de blootliggende contacten. Het materiaal kan een
elektrisch circuit sluiten (kortsluiting) en erg heet worden. Hanteer opgeladen batterijen met zorg, vooral als u
deze in een zak, tas of andere houder met metalen voorwerpen plaatst.
4.3 PERSOONLIJKE VEILIGHEID
• Plaats het toestel niet boven een airbag of in de buurt van de plaats waar de airbag zich opblaast. Airbags worden
met veel kracht opgeblazen. Als een communicatietoestel zich bevindt in de radius van de airbag op het moment
dat deze wordt geactiveerd, kan het toestel met grote kracht worden weggeslingerd en de inzittenden van het
voertuig ernstig verwonden.
• Houd de radio ten minste 15 centimeter verwijderd van een pacemaker.
• Schakel uw radio onmiddellijk UIT in geval van interferentie met medische apparatuur.
• Vervang de batterijen niet in een omgeving waar explosiegevaar bestaat. Bij het installeren of verwijderen van de
batterijen kunnen contactvonken ontstaan, die een explosie kunnen veroorzaken.
• Schakel uw radio uit wanneer u zich bevindt in een omgeving waar explosiegevaar bestaat. Vonken kunnen in
een dergelijke omgeving brand of een explosie veroorzaken, met lichamelijk letsel of zelfs de dood tot gevolg.
• Werp batterijen nooit in het vuur, aangezien ze dan kunnen ontploffen.
Beperking:
Controleer de nationale regelgeving voordat u het toestel gebruikt in een
ander land dan het land van aankoop. De standaard kan in andere landen zijn
verboden.
Omgevingen waar explosiegevaar bestaat, zijn vaak, maar niet altijd, duidelijk
aangegeven. Hieronder vallen brandstoftankruimtes, zoals onderdeks op schepen,
overslag- of opslagplaatsen voor brandstof of chemicaliën; omgevingen waar de
lucht chemicaliën of deeltjes bevat, zoals graan-, stof- of metaaldeeltjes; en elke
andere omgeving waar u gewoonlijk wordt geadviseerd de motor van uw voertuig
uit te schakelen.

4.4 VERGIFTIGINGSGEVAAR
• Houd batterijen uit de buurt van kleine kinderen
4.5 REGELGEVING
• In bepaalde landen is het verboden om onder het rijden uw PMR te gebruiken. Ga in dit geval aan de kant staan
voordat u het toestel gebruikt.
• Schakel uw toestel UIT aan boord van een vliegtuig wanneer u hierom wordt verzocht. Gebruik van het toestel
dient in overeenstemming te zijn met de voorschriften van de luchtvaartmaatschappij of de instructies van de
bemanning.
• Schakel uw toestel UIT op plaatsen waar waarschuwingsbordjes u vragen dit te doen. Ziekenhuizen of
gezondheidscentra kunnen apparaten gebruiken die gevoelig zijn voor van buitenaf komende radiofrequentie-
signalen.
• Het vervangen of wijzigen van de antenne kan de PMR-radiospecificaties beïnvloeden en inbreuk maken op de
CE-voorschriften. Niet-goedgekeurde antennes kunnen de radio ook beschadigen.
4.6 OPMERKINGEN
• Raak de antenne niet aan tijdens het zenden; dit kan het bereik beïnvloeden.
• Verwijder de batterij als u het toestel langere tijd niet gebruikt.
5 REINIGING EN ONDERHOUD
• Reinig het toestel met een vochtige doek. Gebruik hiervoor alleen water. Gebruik geen reinigings- of
oplosmiddelen op het toestel; deze kunnen de behuizing beschadigen en naar binnen lekken, wat kan leiden tot
blijvende beschadigingen.
• Gebruik een droge, pluisvrije doek om de batterijcontacten te reinigen.
• Schakel het toestel direct uit en verwijder de batterijen wanneer het toestel nat is geworden. Droog het batterijvak
met een zachte doek om mogelijke waterschade tot een minimum te beperken. Laat het afdekplaatje van het
batterijvak een nacht lang open of totdat het volledig droog is. Gebruik het toestel niet voordat dit volledig droog
is.
6 AFVOEREN VAN HET TOESTEL (MILIEU)
Na afloop van de levenscyclus van het product mag u het niet met het normale huishoudelijke afval
weggooien, maar moet u het naar een inzamelpunt brengen voor recycling van elektrische en
elektronische apparatuur. Dit wordt aangeduid door het symbool op het product, in de handleiding en/of
op de verpakking.
Sommige materialen waaruit het product is vervaardigd kunnen worden hergebruikt als u ze naar een
inzamelpunt brengt. Door onderdelen of grondstoffen van gebruikte producten te hergebruiken, levert u
een belangrijke bijdrage aan de bescherming van het milieu. Wend u tot de plaatselijke overheid voor
meer informatie over de inzamelpunten bij u in de buurt.
7 EEN PMR-TOESTEL GEBRUIKEN
Om met andere PMR-toestellen te kunnen communiceren, dienen deze allemaal op hetzelfde kanaal te zijn afgestemd
en zich binnen het ontvangstbereik te bevinden (tot max. 5 km in open veld). Aangezien deze toestellen vrij
toegankelijke frequentiebanden gebruiken (kanalen), delen alle werkende toestellen dezelfde kanalen (8 kanalen in
totaal). Privacy is daarom niet gegarandeerd. Iedereen met een PMR die op uw kanaal is afgestemd, kan het gesprek
afluisteren.
Als u wilt communiceren (een spraaksignaal uitzenden), drukt u op de -toets (Push to talk). Zodra deze toets wordt
ingedrukt, wordt de zend-modus van het toestel ingeschakeld en kunt u in de microfoon spreken. Alle andere PMR-
toestellen binnen het uitzendbereik, die op hetzelfde kanaal staan afgestemd en in de standby-modus (niet zenden)
staan, kunnen uw bericht horen. U moet wachten totdat uw gesprekspartner stopt met zenden voordat u kunt
antwoorden. Aan het eind van elke uitzending hoort u een pieptoon. U hoeft enkel de -toets in te drukken en in de
microfoon te spreken om te antwoorden.

Als 2 of meer gebruikers de -toets tegelijkertijd indrukken, ontvangt de
ontvanger enkel het sterkste signaal, waarbij alle andere signalen worden
geblokkeerd. Zend daarom alleen uit (door op de - toets te drukken) als het
kanaal vrij is.

8 BEGINNEN
8.1 DE RIEMCLIP VERWIJDEREN/INSTALLEREN
1.Druk de riemclip (2) in de richting van de antenne terwijl u het
lipje van de clip (1) naar buiten trekt, om de clip van het toestel
te verwijderen.

Als het LAADNIVEAU VAN DE BATTERIJ laag is, gaat het BATTERIJ-pictogram knipperen om aan te geven dat de
batterijset moet worden opgeladen of vervangen.
12 OPLAADBARE BATTERIJEN OPLADEN
De PMR kan gebruikt worden met 3 alkaline of oplaadbare NiMh AAA-batterijen.
Als u oplaadbare batterijen gebruikt, kunt u de optionele adapter gebruiken om ze op te laden.
• Plaats 3 "AAA" oplaadbare batterijen.
• Steek de kleine stekker van de 7,5 DC/200 mA adapter in de SPK/MIC/CHG-aansluiting en
het andere uiteinde in het stopcontact.
• Zorg ervoor dat het toestel uitgeschakeld is zodat de batterijen goed kunnen opladen. Als het
toestel UIT staat, is de indicator voor het laadniveau van de batterijen niet te zien.
OPMERKING: Het volledig laden van de batterijen duurt ongeveer 7 tot 10 uur.

Batterijen dienen bij een inzamelpunt voor batterijen te worden
ingeleverd en mogen niet met het huishoudelijk afval worden
meegegeven. Sluit de batterijen niet kort en gooi ze nooit in het
vuur. Verwijder de batterijen als u het toestel langere tijd niet
gebruikt.
Gebruik de AC/DC-ADAPTER alleen voor oplaadbare "AAA"-batterijen. Laad het toestel
niet als gewone “AAA”-alkaline batterijen zijn geïnstalleerd.

13.1 HET TOESTEL IN- EN UITSCHAKELEN (AAN/UIT)
• Inschakelen: druk op en houd de toets ingedrukt. Het toestel zal gaan "piepen" en het LCD-scherm zal het
huidige kanaal weergeven.
• Uitschakelen: druk op en houd de toets weer ingedrukt. Het toestel zal gaan "piepen" en het LCD-scherm zal
zwart worden.
13.2 LUIDSPREKERVOLUME AFSTELLEN
Het volume van de luidspreker kan worden afgesteld met de toetsen / . Het volume van de
luidspreker wordt op de LCD weergegeven.
13.3 EEN SIGNAAL ONTVANGEN
Het toestel is voortdurend in de ONTVANGST-modus wanneer het AAN staat en niet aan het zenden is.
Als u een signaal ontvangt op het huidige kanaal, verschijnt het RX-pictogram.
13.4 EEN SIGNAAL ZENDEN
• Druk op en houd de toets ingedrukt om te ZENDEN.
• Houd het toestel verticaal met de MICROFOON 10 cm van de mond en spreek in de microfoon.
• Laat los wanneer u het zenden wilt stoppen.
13.5 VAN KANAAL VERANDEREN
De PMR beschikt over 8 kanalen.
Ga als volgt te werk om van kanaal te veranderen:
• Druk één keer op , het huidige kanaalnummer op het LCD-scherm gaat knipperen.
• Druk op of om het kanaal te wijzigen.
• Druk op om de kanaalkeuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de NORMALE modus.
OPMERKING: Alle PMR's op hetzelfde kanaal kunnen het gesprek ontvangen en beluisteren.
13.6 MONITOR
U kunt de MONITOR-functie gebruiken om op het huidige kanaal te zoeken naar zwakkere signalen.
• Druk op de -toets voor normale monitoring.
• Druk op en houd de toets ingedrukt. Na 5 seconden kunt u de toets loslaten. Het kanaal wordt nu voortdurend
gemonitord tot u weer op de -toets drukt.

13.7 KANAALSCAN
De functie CHANNEL SCAN zoekt in een eindeloze lus naar actieve signalen op kanaal 1 tot 8.
• Houd de en -toets 2 seconden ingedrukt.
• Laat de toetsen los. Het kanaal op het scherm verandert terwijl het toestel de kanalen scant.
• Als een actief signaal wordt gedetecteerd (op een van de acht kanalen), pauzeert CHANNEL SCAN
en krijgt u het actieve signaal te horen.
• Als een actief signaal wordt gedetecteerd (op een van de acht kanalen), drukt u op of om het
huidige kanaal over te slaan en verder te zoeken naar een actief kanaal.
• Druk op om te communiceren op het actieve kanaal en druk op om te stoppen met
scannen.
13.8 TOETSVERGRENDELING
• Druk op en houd gedurende 2 seconden ingedrukt om de TOETSVERGRENDELINGS-modus in-
of uit te schakelen. Het pictogram TOETSVERGRENDELING verschijnt op het LCD-scherm.
• Druk opnieuw op en houd ingedrukt om de TOETSVERGRENDELING uit te schakelen.
13.9 OPROEPTONEN
Met een oproeptoon laat u anderen weten dat u wilt praten.
a. De oproeptoon instellen
U kunt kiezen uit 5 verschillende oproeptonen.
• Druk 2 keer op . CA verschijnt op de display.
• Druk op of om een andere oproeptoon te selecteren of selecteer OFF om oproeptonen uit te
schakelen.
• Druk op om uw keuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de standby-modus.
b. Een oproeptoon zenden
Druk kort op . De oproeptoon wordt gedurende 3 seconden op het ingestelde kanaal uitgezonden.
13.10 TOETSTOON IN/UITSCHAKELEN
U hoort een korte pieptoon bij het indrukken van een toets.
Toetstoon instellen.
• Druk 3 keer op . ‘to’ verschijnt op de display.
• Druk op om de toetstoon in te schakelen (ON), of op om de toetstoon uit te schakelen (OFF).
• Druk op om uw keuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de standby-modus.
13.11 ROGER-PIEPTOON IN/UITSCHAKELEN
Nadat u de -toets hebt losgelaten, zendt het toestel een Roger-pieptoon uit om te bevestigen dat u klaar bent met
praten.
De Roger-pieptoon instellen.
• Druk 4 keer op . ‘ro’ verschijnt op de display.
• Druk op om de Roger-pieptoon in te schakelen (ON), of op om de Roger-pieptoon uit te
schakelen (OFF).
• Druk op om uw keuze te bevestigen en terug te keren naar de standby-modus.

13.12 KOPTELEFOON-AANSLUITING
De Twintalker 1302 kan worden gebruikt met een externe microfoon en luidspreker.
De aansluiting bevindt zich onder het rubber beschermflapje boven op het toestel. Om de
externe luidspreker/microfoon, koptelefoon of het oortje aan te sluiten, tilt u het rubber flapje aan
de bovenkant van het toestel op om bij de aansluiting te kunnen.
Steek de juiste stekker in de aansluiting.

15 GARANTIE
15.1 GARANTIETERMIJN
Op de Topcom-toestellen wordt een garantie van 24 maanden verleend. De garantietermijn gaat in op de dag waarop
het nieuwe toestel wordt aangeschaft. Verbruiksartikelen en defecten die een verwaarloosbaar effect hebben op de
werking of waarde van het toestel worden niet gedekt door de garantie.
De garantie moet worden bewezen door overlegging van het aankoopbewijs waarop de datum van aankoop en het
toesteltype staan aangegeven.
15.2 AFWIKKELING VAN GARANTIECLAIMS
Een defect toestel moet, samen met een geldig aankoopbewijs, worden teruggestuurd naar een officieel erkende
hersteldienst. Als het toestel tijdens de garantieperiode een defect vertoont, zal de hersteldienst eventuele defecten te
wijten aan materiaal- of productiefouten gratis herstellen.
De hersteldienst zal naar eigen goeddunken haar garantieverplichtingen vervullen door defecte toestellen of
onderdelen van defecte toestellen te herstellen of te vervangen. In het geval van vervanging kunnen de kleur en het
model verschillend zijn van het oorspronkelijk aangeschafte toestel.
De oorspronkelijke aankoopdatum bepaalt wanneer de garantietermijn ingaat. De garantieperiode wordt niet verlengd
als het toestel wordt vervangen of hersteld door de officieel erkende hersteldienst.
15.3 GARANTIEBEPERKINGEN
Schade of defecten te wijten aan onoordeelkundig gebruik of bediening en schade te wijten aan het gebruik van niet-
originele onderdelen of accessoires, worden niet gedekt door de garantie.
De garantie dekt geen schade te wijten aan externe factoren, zoals bliksem, water en brand, noch enige tijdens
transport veroorzaakte schade.
Er kan geen beroep worden gedaan op de garantie als het serienummer op het toestel is gewijzigd, verwijderd of
onleesbaar gemaakt.

1 INTRODUCTION
Nous vous remercions d'avoir acheté le TOPCOM Twintalker 1302. Il s'agit d'un appareil de communication radio de
faible puissance et de faible portée dont le coût de fonctionnement se limite au rechargement des piles.
Le Twintalker 1302 fonctionne sur les fréquences réservées aux talkies-walkies (Private Mobile Radio - PMR) dans tous
les pays qui autorisent ce service, comme mentionné sur l'emballage et dans ce manuel.
2 USAGE :
Cet appareil s'utilise aussi bien dans un cadre professionnel que personnel. Par exemple : pour maintenir le contact
lors d'un voyage à plusieurs voitures, au cours de randonnées en deux-roues ou en ski. Vous pouvez également
l'utiliser pour communiquer avec vos enfants lorsqu'ils jouent dehors, etc.

4 INSTRUCTIONS DE SÉCURITÉ
4.1 GÉNÉRALITÉS
Veuillez lire attentivement les instructions suivantes relatives à la sécurité et à l'utilisation correcte du produit.
Familiarisez-vous avec toutes les fonctions de l'appareil. Conservez ce manuel en lieu sûr pour pouvoir le consulter
ultérieurement.
4.2 BRÛLURES
• Ne touchez pas l'antenne si son couvercle est endommagé, car un contact avec la peau risque de provoquer des
brûlures bénignes lors de la transmission.
• Les piles peuvent causer des dommages matériels tels que des brûlures si des matériaux conducteurs (bijoux,
clés ou chaînettes) entrent en contact avec les bornes dénudées. Le matériau peut provoquer un circuit
électrique (court-circuit) et devenir très chaud. Les piles chargées se manipulent avec précaution,
particulièrement lorsque vous les mettez dans une poche, un sac ou un autre récipient contenant des objets
métalliques.
4.3 SÉCURITÉ PERSONNELLE
• Ne placez pas votre appareil dans la zone située au dessus d'un airbag ni dans la zone de déploiement de ce
dernier. Les airbags se gonflant avec une très grande force, si un appareil de communication est placé dans leur
zone de déploiement, il peut être propulsé et blesser gravement les occupants du véhicule.
• Gardez une distance minimum de 15 centimètres entre l'équipement radio et un stimulateur cardiaque.
• Désactivez votre équipement radio dès qu'une interférence se produit avec l'appareil médical.
• Ne remplacez pas les piles dans une atmosphère présentant des risques de déflagration. L'installation et le retrait
des piles peuvent provoquer des étincelles de contact susceptibles d'entraîner une explosion.
• Désactivez votre appareil de communication lorsque vous vous trouvez dans une atmosphère présentant des
risques de déflagration. Les étincelles peuvent provoquer une explosion ou un incendie entraînant des blessures
corporelles, voire la mort.
• Ne jetez jamais de piles dans un feu car elles risquent d'exploser.
Restrictions :
Si vous utilisez l'appareil dans un autre pays que celui où vous l'avez acheté,
vérifiez les réglementations locales, car cette norme peut y être interdite.
Les zones qui présentent des risques de déflagration sont généralement signalées,
mais ce n'est pas toujours le cas. Il s'agit des zones d'alimentation en carburant
telles que le premier pont d'un bateau, des installations de transfert ou de stockage
de carburant ou de produits chimiques, des zones dont l'air contient des produits
chimiques ou des particules tels que grains, poussière ou métal pulvérisé, et toute
autre zone dans laquelle il vous est demandé de couper le moteur de votre
véhicule.

4.4 RISQUES D'EMPOISONNEMENT
• Tenez les piles hors de portée des enfants.
4.5 MENTION LÉGALE
• Dans certains pays, il vous est interdit d'utiliser un talkie-walkie au volant d'un véhicule. Dans ce cas, arrêtez-vous
avant d'utiliser l'appareil.
• À bord d'un avion, désactivez votre appareil dès que le personnel vous le demande. L'utilisation de l'appareil doit
se faire conformément aux réglementations de la compagnie aérienne ou aux instructions de l'équipage.
• Désactivez votre appareil dans tous les lieux où des affiches interdisent son utilisation. Les hôpitaux et les
établissements de soins peuvent utiliser des équipements sensibles à l'énergie radioélectrique extérieure.
• Le remplacement ou la modification de l'antenne peut affecter les caractéristiques radio du talkie-walkie et
enfreindre les réglementations CE. Les antennes non autorisées peuvent également endommager l'équipement
radio.
4.6 REMARQUES
• Ne touchez pas l'antenne lors de la transmission, car cela peut avoir une incidence sur la portée.
• Retirez la batterie lorsque vous n'utilisez pas l'appareil pendant un long moment.
5 NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN
• Pour nettoyer l'appareil, utilisez un chiffon doux humidifié avec de l'eau. N'utilisez ni produit nettoyant, ni solvant.
Ils risqueraient, en effet, d'endommager le boîtier, de pénétrer à l'intérieur de l'appareil et de provoquer des
dommages irréversibles.
• Pour nettoyer le contact des piles, utilisez un tissu sec non pelucheux.
• Si l'appareil entre en contact avec de l'eau, désactivez-le immédiatement et retirez les piles. Séchez le
compartiment à piles à l'aide d'un chiffon doux pour réduire tout risque d'endommagement. Laissez le couvercle
du compartiment ouvert toute la nuit ou jusqu'à ce qu'il soit totalement sec. N'utilisez l'appareil que lorsqu'il est
entièrement sec.
6 MISE AU REBUT DE L'APPAREIL (ENVIRONNEMENT)
Au terme du cycle de vie de ce produit, ne le jetez pas avec les déchets ménagers ordinaires mais
déposez-le dans un point de collecte pour le recyclage des équipements électriques et électroniques.
Le symbole indiqué sur ce produit, sur le mode d'emploi et/ou sur la boîte est là pour vous le rappeler.
Certains matériaux qui composent le produit peuvent être réutilisés s'ils sont déposés dans un point de
recyclage. En réutilisant certaines pièces ou matières premières de produits usagés, vous contribuez

7 UTILISATION D'UN TALKIE-WALKIE
Pour que des talkies-walkies puissent communiquer entre eux, ils doivent utiliser le même canal et la portée de
réception doit être respectée (maximum de 5 km en terrain dégagé). Ces appareils utilisant des bandes de fréquences
libres (canaux), tous les appareils en fonctionnement partagent ces canaux (8 au total). La confidentialité n'est donc
pas assurée. Toute personne qui dispose d'un talkie-walkie utilisant votre canal est susceptible d'écouter votre
conversation.
Pour communiquer (transmettre un signal vocal), appuyez sur la touche (Parole). L'appareil passe alors en mode
de transmission et vous pouvez parler dans le micro. Les personnes qui utilisent d'autres talkies-walkies couverts par
la portée, utilisant le même canal et se trouvant en mode veille (pas en cours de transmission) entendent votre
message. Pour que vous puissiez répondre au message, vous devez attendre que votre interlocuteur arrête de
transmettre. À la fin de chaque transmission, l'appareil émet un bip. Pour répondre, il vous suffit d'appuyer sur la touche
et de parler dans le micro.

Si plusieurs utilisateurs appuient simultanément sur la touche , c'est le signal le
plus puissant qui est détecté par le récepteur et les autres signaux sont supprimés.
C'est pourquoi vous ne devez transmettre de signal (touche ) que lorsque le
canal est libre.

8 POUR COMMENCER
8.1 MANIPULATION DU CLIP DE CEINTURE
1.Pour retirer le clip de l'appareil, poussez le clip de ceinture (2)
vers l'antenne tout en tirant sur l'agrafe du clip (1).
2.Lorsque vous réinstallez le clip de ceinture, un clic indique qu'il
est correctement verrouillé.
8.2 INSTALLATION DES PILES
1.Retirez le clip de ceinture (§ 8.1).
2.Poussez l'onglet (3) sur le couvercle du compartiment à piles
et retirez le couvercle de l'antenne en le faisant glisser. (4)
3.Installez 3 piles AAA (1,5 V) alcalines ou rechargeables en
respectant la polarité illustrée.
4.Réinstallez le couvercle du compartiment à piles et le clip de
ceinture (§ 8.1).

12 CHARGEMENT DE PILES RECHARGEABLES
Le talkie-walkie peut être utilisé avec 3 piles AAA NiMh alcalines ou rechargeables.
Lorsque vous utilisez des piles rechargeables, vous pouvez utiliser l'adaptateur supplémentaire pour le chargement.
• Insérez 3 piles AAA rechargeables .
• Branchez la petite fiche de l'adaptateur 7,5 V CC / 200 mA dans la prise HP/MIC/CHG et
l'autre extrémité dans la prise électrique.
• Assurez-vous que l'appareil est éteint afin de charger correctement les piles. Aucun témoin
n'est allumé pendant le chargement en mode désactivé.
REMARQUE : la durée de chargement total des piles se situe entre 7 et 10 heures.
13 UTILISATION DU TWINTALKER 1302
13.1 ACTIVATION ET DÉSACTIVATION DE L'APPAREIL
• Pour activer l'appareil, appuyez sur la touche et maintenez-la enfoncée. L'appareil émettra un "bip" et l'écran
LCD affichera le canal actuel.
• Pour désactiver l'appareil, appuyez à nouveau sur la touche et maintenez-la enfoncée. L'appareil émettra un
"bip" et l'écran LCD s'éteindra.

Jetez les piles dans un site désigné pour la mise au rebut et non
avec les déchets ménagers. Évitez de court-circuiter les piles et
ne les jetez pas au feu. Retirez-les lorsque vous n'utilisez pas
l'appareil pendant une durée prolongée.
Utilisez uniquement l'adaptateur CA/CC avec des piles AAA rechargeables. N'essayez
pas de charger l'appareil si vous avez installé des piles alcalines courantes de type AAA.
