INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Safety Instructions
(1) Read Safety and operating instructions carefully.
(2) Always wear suitable footwear. Do not mow in bare feet.
(3) Always stop the engine and disconect the spark plug (s) when guards are not in place.
(4) Check that the items to be mowed are free of all foreign debris. This includes and is not
limited to nails, wipe role etc.
(5) Do not allow children to come near the mower. Always ensure that the children are at a
safe distance and are well away from the machine.
(6) Do not put hands whatsoever inside the machine while the machine is running.
(7) Read the engine manufactures operating instructions carefully. Do not alter governor
settings or over speed the engine.

area. Always refuel outdoors. Always turn off engine when you are refuelling and do not
refuel if engine is hot. If spillage occurs mop up immediately and wait a suitable time so the
fumes disappear. When storing fuel make sure it is in a suitably designed container and it is
stored in a cool dry place.
(9) Mow only in daylight when visibility is good.
(10) When mowing, slopes should be treated with caution.
(11) When you leave the mower unattend always stop the engine.

(13) It is advisable to wear suitable hearing protection.
(14) It is advisable to wear safety glasses whilst operating the mower.
(15) Always operate with all guards in place.
(16) Do not look into the mower while machine is running.
(17) Clean built up debris around the engine and machine at each refuelling or sooner if
needed. Clean more often under dusty conditions or when airborne debris is present or when
cutting tall dry grass.
(18) Do not let grass or other debris build up around the MT 50 whatsoever.

Operating Instructions
Before starting read the safety instructions, operating instructions and the engine
operating instructions. Always ensure that the engine has oil as per engine
instructions.
Pre-Starting

Set the handles
to a comfortable
mowing position. The taller the grass, The
more you lift the head
off the ground.
Mowing/Trimming
When mowing or trimming with you MT 50 it is best to slightly raise the cutting head off
the ground. You can set the handles of the machine so that lifting the head is in a natural position.

Changing the Nylon cord
Remove the spark plug lead before you change the Nylon cord.
1. Gently lean the MT 50 backwards.
Cut two lengths of cord 550 mm. Fold one
length into two and push each end through
the holes in the middle. Then put each end of
the nylon chord through the end holes.Repeat
for the other side.
PLEASE NOTE: BE VERY CAREFUL TIPPING THE MT 50 BACKWARDS. DO NOT TIP THE MT 161
BACK MORE THAN 30 DEGREES.

Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE MT 50 IS COMPLETELY
DISABLED BY MAKING SURE THE ENGINE HAS STOPPED
AND REMOVING THE SPARK PLUG LEAD, BEFORE YOU REMOVE
ANY GUARDS OR PARTS, OR DO ANY MAINTENANCE.
Tightening the Drive Belt
From time to time you will need to tighten or replace
the drive belt. This is very easy to do. Loosen the
bolts holding the engine. On the back of the machine
there is a belt tensioner nut. Turn this nut in a clock
-
wise direction until the belt is moderately tight. Do
not over tighten as this could cause damage.

General Cleaning of your MT 50
Because of the general nature of what you are cutting with the MT 50 it is very important
to clear the MT 50 of all debris built up around the machine. Very regularly remove
grass and debris that builds up around the engine and the rest of the MT 50. A build up

Warranty
Under the TRUYARD warranty your MT 50 is warranted for one year from the date of
purchase against mechanical defects, faulty workmanship or material. 90 days for commercial use
with the exception for the use of hire or rental where no warranty is given. This warranty covers
only the replacement, repair or adjustment of any part which fails as a result of a fault in manuų
facture or assembly. Defective parts will be rapaired or replaced without charge for labour or
material subject to the conditions details below.
Warranty Exclusions, Limitations and Rights.
(1) Any failure that results from accident, abuse or neglect is not covered by this warranty.
(2) Transport of the MT 50 to and from the manufacture, their agents or dealers, to be
paid for by the owner.
(3) Proof of purchase date must be provided prior to the commencement of the warranty work.
(4) Any failure of parts or material that is contributable to fair wear.
(5) Any indirect or consequential loss, damage, costs or expenses suffered by the consumer that
may result either directly or indirectly from the failure or malfunction of the product.
(6) Any repairs carried out other than those by authorised TRUYARD agents or dealers cancel this
warranty.
(7) Engine warranty is separate and is in accordance with the Engine manufactures express
warranty.
