7 RISK ASSESSMENT
Serious danger of crushing and shearing below the front part in the event of loss of stability when raised during refuse
discharge and/or maintenance operations. Two specific protection devices are fitted to eliminate this danger:
a) Parachute valve, positioned on the refuse container-lifting arm. In the event of breakage or sudden loss of pressure in
the hydraulic circuit, this valve prevents the bin crashing down.
b) A bin stop hook is provided, which must be inserted by hand, to keep the bin raised and
prevent it coming down during maintenance and/or inspection operations.
2. Danger of cutting, shearing, entanglement and drawing-in, only in model 125 DK with diesel engine, on the cooling
fan when the bonnet is raised. To eliminate this danger, a fine mesh protects the fan.
3. Danger of entanglement and drawing-in, only in model 125 EH with electric motor, on the motor coupling. To
eliminate this danger, a fine mesh protects the coupling.
4. Danger of shearing of hands and feet exists also between the front wheels and the upper sheet metal protection plate
during movement of the wheels. To eliminate this danger, the plate is positioned so that the gap between it and the
wheel is too small for the passage of hands or feet.
5. Danger of impact during movement of the machine. The machine is provided with brakes operated by a pedal from
the driving position.
6. Slight danger of burning in the version with diesel engine on the engine during or immediately after operation. The
engine can be accessed only by opening the bonnet and therefore inspection and/or maintenance operations, a warning
in the service handbook is sufficient.
7. The DK model uses flammable fuel and this obviously involves the risk of fire and/or explosion. Both engine and tank
are provided with standard certificate of conformity certifying construction in compliance with standards. The user is
nevertheless required to provide appropriate fire prevention and/or fire-fighting devices and the operator and/or persons
standing in the machine working range are forbidden to smoke.
8. The diesel DK model is obviously noisy but he noise level is well below the danger threshold. In the event of continued
and prolonged use, however, the operator is advised to wear ear defenders.
9. Danger of inhaling dust. If work is prolonged and/or if the environment is particularly dusty, the operator should be
provided with a suitable protective mask. The machine does not raise dust, however, as it is all sucked in from below and
conveyed into the bin.
10. There is a remote danger of the vehicle tipping over on slopes or on bends. To eliminate this danger the vehicle is
equipped with two stabiliser bars each positioned in the rear corners where the vehicle is provided with one wheel only.
11. Danger of inhaling gas from battery recharging in model 125 EH. Particular care must be taken with battery
recharging: the instruction manual provides detailed directions for this operation.
