Operating & testing Instructions
1. Connect the RF OUTPUT connector to a 50 Ohm antenna or a Dummy load of at least 300W.
2. Make final visual test and double check all connections especially the RF output connector.
3.
4. Power on the exciter ONLY.
5. Apply 27V to the driver.
6. In the point, the driver should amplify the 1W from the RF input to 5W, you can measure the
current consumption of the 27V voltage which should be about 0.4A.
7. Make sure the fan is working and blowing on the heat sink before moving to the next.
8. We highly recommend that the 48V will be first tested under Current limit.
If you have a power supply with current limit set the current limit to 6A and than connect it to
the power amplifier which should output 100W at 6A limit.
ONLY after testing the amplifier at 6A and getting 100W output slowly release the current
limit till full current, in this point a 250W-300W should be output from the AMP250W.
9. If your power supply does not have a current limit option,
Simply turn on the power supply, 7-10A should be sourced
From the power supply in normal operation of 250W-300W.
Disconnect immediately the 48V in case of:
1. High current consumption (more than 10A)
2. Noises from Power supply
3. drop on output power
4. Any other symptom which not described.
CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH CENTER LEAD on ANTENNA OUTPUT when transmitter is turned
on, it may cause SERIOUS RF BURNS!
