voltage,1500mAhhighcapacityina verycompactpacl<age.Undernormaluse,thebattery
pacl<maybeusedforapproximately500chargecyclesandmore,afterwhichoperating
timemaybeexpectedtodecrease.Ifyouhaveanoldbatterypackwhichisdisplaying
capacitywhichhasbecomediminished,youshouldreplacethepackwitha newone.

1) Scan& ScanModesetting(SCAN&SCANS—MENU1&17)
Functions: underVFO/IVIR/CHmode,TH-UVF9allowsyoutoscantheentirecurrent
operatingbandandmemorychannels.
Enter Menu 1^'and press [ B ] keytostart scanning.
Whenyouhavestartedscanning,press[ ES] / [ ] keytochangedirection.Andit
willhaltona signalItencounters,pressPTTkeytostopscanning;Press MONI keyto
stopscanningtemporarily;Press[ B ] keyagaintoexitthescanningfunction.
Scanningoperationisbasicallythesameineachoftheabovemodes.Beforeyoubegin,
takea momenttoselectthewayinwhichyouwouldlikethescannertohaltona signal.
Enter Menu 17'"toset scan mode.Default:TO.
ThreeoptionsforthescanmodeareavailableunderVFOmode:
TO: Inthismode,thescannerwillhaltona signalitencounters,andwillholdtherefor
sometime.Ifyoudonottakeactiontodisablethescannerwithinthetimeperiod,
thescannerwillresumeevenifthestationsarestillactive.
CO: Inthismode,thescannerwillhaltona signalitencounters,andwillholdthereif
thestationsarestillactive.Andafterthecarrierhasdropped,thescannerwill
resume.
SE: Inthismode,thescannerwillhaltona signalitencounter,itwillnotrestart
automatically;youmustmanuallyre-initiatescanningifyouwishtoresume.
