Dear customer,
Please read these Operating Instructions through carefully before connecting your device to the
mains, in order to avoid damage due to incorrect use. Please pay particular attention to the safety
information. If you pass the device on to a third party, these Operating Instructions must also be
handed over.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Wrong operation and improper handling can cause problems with the appliance and injury to
the user.
Read all safety and operating instructions.
The unit may be used only for the purpose. No liability is accepted for damages arising from
improper use or incorrect handling.
Before connecting to the mains, please check whether the type of supply and the mains
voltage match with the details given on the nameplate on the appliance.
Do not immerse the appliance and mains plug in water or other fluids. Should the appliance
accidentally fall into water, pull out the power plug immediately and have the appliance
checked by an expert before using it again. There is danger to life from electrical shock!
Do not try to open the housing yourself!
Do not introduce any kind of objects into the housing.
Do not use the appliance with wet hands, on moist floor or when the appliance is wet.
Never touch the power plug with wet or damp hands.
Check mains cable and plug regularly for damages. In case of damages, have the power cord
and mains plug changed by the manufacturer, or a qualified expert, in order to avoid danger.
Do not operate the appliance if the power cable or the mains plug shows damage or the unit
has fallen down or has been damaged otherwise. In such cases, bring the unit to the
authorized service center foe checking and repairs, if necessary.
Do not ever try to repair the unit yourself, danger of electrical shock!
Do not let the power cord hang over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and open
flames. Pull the plug to remove it from the wall outlet; do not pull at the cable.
Installation of a spike protector will offer additional protection with a nominal trigger current
of not more than 30mAin the house installation. Please consult your electrician.
The cable as well as any extension cable required should be run in such a way that there will
be no risk of anyone pulling it inadvertently or tripping over it. Ensure that the cable does not
touch hot surfaces.
If an extension cable is used it must be suitable for the power supply in question. Otherwise it
causes overheating of cable and/or plug.
Place the appliance on a rigid, flat and heat-resistant surface, away from open flames (such as
gas oven) and operate it out of reach of children.
This appliance is neither suitable for commercial use nor for outdoor use.
Disconnect from mains power supply when not in use and before cleaning.
Caution! The appliance is powered as long as it is connected to the power circuit.
Switch off the unit before disconnecting from mains power.
Never carry the unit its power cord.
The wall outlet must be freely accessible at all times.
Use only spare parts and accessible or recommended by the manufacturer.
The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

OPERATION
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
Danger of burns! Some parts of the device get very hot during operation. Therefore, do not
move the appliance while it is operating, and only touch the handle of the appliance.
Do not leave the appliance unattended while the plug is connected to a power supply.
The power cable must not touch the hot parts of the appliance during operation.

Remove all packaging material.
Clean and dry the appliance as described under Cleaning and Care.
The anti-stick plates must be greased to protect the coated surface of the plates.
Release the lid lock and to lift up the lid.
You can choose from three exchangeable baking plates: waffle, sandwich and grill.
Change the plates only once the appliance is entirely cooled down!
In order to change the plates, move the plate release in the direction of the arrow until the
baking plates have been releases and can be taken out. When inserting the chosen plates
make sure that the mounting of the plates fit into the cavities on the hinged side of the

appliance. Press down on the plate until it snaps in and is locked again.
Connect the power plug to a suitable wall socket. The red control lamp will light up.
During first use, minor smell and smoke may develop. This is harmless and of short duration.
Make sure that there is sufficient ventilation.
The appliance is fully heated once the green control lamp lights up.
Release the lid lock and lift up the lid.
Place the food in the appliance and close it again. Do not overfill the device.
Make sure that the lock snaps in, so the appliance securely locked.
During the toasting operation the green control lamp will sporadically light up and extinguish.
This indicates that the appliance is heating itself, so as to maintain the desired temperature.
After use, turn odd the appliance and pull the power plug.
Please observe also the safety advices.
Never use abrasive detergents or sharp utensils.
Before cleaning the appliance, pull out the power plug and allow the appliance to cool down.
Remove large food residues that may have stuck to the plates. The plates are equipped with
an anti-stick coating that can be damaged by contact with sharp objects. Therefore, only use
soft utensils such as spoons made of plastic or wood. Do not use sharp or abrasive or
detergents.
Then the plates can be cleaned with a cleaning agent and hot water.
Clean the housing of the appliance with soft damp cloth and if necessary with a mild
cleanser.
Do not place the appliance in a dishwasher.
Never immerse the appliance in liquids.
Dry the appliance before reconnecting it to a wall socket.
The appliance can be stored in upright position.
