General Safety
WARNING: The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Care should be taken to
avoid touching heating elements.
• Do not operate the appliance by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
WARNING: Do not leave hot fat or oil unattended. If overheating occurs, these could catch fire.
Never try to extinguish a fire with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover flame e.g.
with a lid or a fire blanket.
CAUTION: All cooking processes must be supervised continuously.
WARNING: Danger of fire: Do not store any items on the cooking surfaces.
• Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the hob surface since
they can get hot.
• Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.
• Do not operate the appliance if it is defective or has any visible damage.
• If the glass ceramic surface / glass surface is cracked, switch off the appliance and unplug it from the

to disconnect the appliance from power supply. In either case contact the Authorised Service Centre.
A damaged power cord/plug can cause fire or give you an electric shock. When damaged it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, an Authorized Service Technician, or a similarly qualified person in order
to avoid a hazard.
• Do not carry out any repairs or modifications on the appliance.
• Never use the appliance when your judgment or coordination is impaired by the consumption of

Be careful when using alcoholic drinks in your dishes. Alcohol evaporates at high temperatures and
may cause a fire since it can ignite when it comes into contact with hot surfaces.
• Only use the appliance for preparing food.
• Your appliance is for domestic use only. Using it for commercial or any other purposes, for example
room heating, will cause your warranty to be cancelled.
• Do not use the appliance for heating closed tins and glass jars. The pressure that would build up in the

INSTALLATION
WARNING! Only a qualified person must install this appliance.
WARNING! Risk of injury or damage to the appliance.
• Remove all the packaging.
• Do not install or use a damaged appliance. If the appliance is damaged in any way, do not use it.
Report the damage to your dealer, who will take the necessary corrective action.
• Follow the installation instructions supplied with the appliance.
• Keep the minimum distance from other appliances and units.
• Always take care when moving the appliance as it is heavy. Always use safety gloves and enclosed
footwear.
• Protect the bottom of the appliance from steam and moisture. Seal the cut surfaces of counter tops
with a sealant to prevent moisture to cause swelling.
• Surfaces and surrounding edges immediately adjacent to the hob should be able to withstand
temperatures of up to 100°C without delaminating or discolouring.
• Do not install the appliance adjacent to a door or under a window. This prevents hot cookware falling
from the appliance when the door or the window is opened.
• If the appliance is installed above drawers make sure that the space, between the bottom of the
appliance and the upper drawer, is sufficient for air circulation.
• The bottom of the appliance can get hot. To shield the user from this hot surface, make sure to install
a removable separation panel made from plywood, kitchen carcass material or other non-flammable
materials under the appliance to prevent access to the bottom.
• It is recommended that the separation panel be fitted at least 75mm from the bottom face of the
worktop. The space between the bottom of the appliance and the separation panel should be empty
and no object should be stored there. The panel needs to be removable for service purposes as the hob,
once installed, can only be loosened from below.
5

• If the hob is installed with a side adjacent to a vertical kitchen cabinet, the distance between the
edge of the hob and that of the cabinet side should be a least 150mm. The distance between the back
wall and the rear edge of the hob should be at least 55mm.
Aperture Size
• The hob is supplied with securing clips.
• To avoid liquid spills penetrating between the hob and the worktop, apply the supplied self-adhesive
sponge seal to the perimeter of the aperture. Do not use a silicone sealer.
• Invert the hob on the worktop adjacent to the aperture before making the electrical connection. This
will ensure sufficient cable length for subsequent servicing.
• Position the hob into the aperture so that the securing clips are compressed between the hob base
and the worktop. (refer to Sketch below).

• Before carrying out any operation make sure that the appliance is disconnected from the power
supply.
• Ensure that the parameters on the rating plate are compatible with the electrical ratings of the mains
power supply.
• Make sure the appliance is installed correctly. Loose and incorrect electricity mains cable can cause
the terminal to become too hot.
• Use the correct electricity mains cable.
• Do not let the electricity mains cable tangle.
• Make sure that a shock protection is installed.
• Use the strain relief clamp on the cable.
• Make sure the mains cable does not touch the hot appliance or hot cookware when you connect the
appliance to the near breakers.
• Do not use multi-plug adapters and extension cables.
• Make sure not to cause damage to the mains cable. Contact our Authorised Service Technician or an
electrician to change a damaged mains cable.
• The shock protection of live and insulated parts must be fastened in such a way that it cannot be
removed without tools.
• Do not pull the mains cable to disconnect the appliance.
• Use only correct isolation devices: line protecting cut-outs, fuses (screw type fuses removed from the
holder), earth leakage trips and contactors.
• The electrical installation must have an isolation device which lets you disconnect the appliance from
the mains at all poles. The isolation device must have a contact opening width of minimum 3mm.
OPERATION

Hob Controls
1. On/Off Sensor – To activate and deactivate the power.
2. Cooking Zone Selection and (+) Sensor – To select cooking zone.
3. Cooking Zone Power Indicator (and Hot Surface Indicator) – To show the heat setting.
4. (-) Sensor – To adjust cooking zone power down.
5. Dual Zone On/Off Sensor – To activate/deactivate the dual zone.
6. Dual Zone Indicator Light – To indicate on/off status of dual zone.
• The hob is fitted with electronic sensors which are activated when the relevant circular touch pad is
pressed for at least one second.
• Each sensor activation is followed by an audible tone.
• To avoid false touch pad activations do not place any objects on the touch pad area.
• Always keep the touch pad surface area clean.
Switching a cooking zone ON
• Press the on/off sensor (
2
) for at least one second to switch the hob on, all hotplate power indicators
(
3
) indicate ‘0’. The next setting must be selected within 20 seconds to prevent the hob from switching
off.
• Activate the required cooking zone by pressing the relevant (+) sensor (
2
)
• Set the desired cooking power from 1- 9, using the (+) or (-) sensors (
2
and
4
)
• Continuous pressing of + (
2
) or - (
4
) increases or reduces the power level.
• Alternatively, power levels may be sequentially adjusted by pressing (
2
or
4
) for at least 1 second.
• Note that settings are only possible for one hotplate at a time.
Switching a cooking zone OFF
• Select the required cooking zone to turn off by pressing the relevant (+) sensor (
2
) for one second.
• Press the (-) sensor (
4
) and set the power level to ‘0’, the hotplate will switch off after 10 seconds.
Shortly thereafter the hot surface indicator light on the hob may switch on, display (H) and remain on
for 20 to 30 minutes after the plate is switched off. This is a reminder that the hob surface is still too hot
to touch.
• Fast deactivation. Press both + and — (
2
and
4
) touchpad sensors simultaneously to switch the
hotplate off immediately.
Switching the hob off
• Switch the hob off by pressing the On / Off sensor (

The remaining heat may be used for warming food as long as the symbol ‘H’ remains on after the
cooking zone has been switched off.
8

WARNING! There is a risk of burns from residual heat. The “H” indicators show the level of the
residual heat for the cooking zones you have been using. The indicators may also come on for the
neighbouring cooking zones even if you have not used them.
Dual Cooking Zone
• Both cooking zones of the dual plate switch on when switching the front left cooking zone on.
• When the dual cooking zone is selected, pressing the dual zone sensor (
5
) switches the outer circuit of
the cooking zone off.
• Pressing the dual zone sensor (
5
) again will reactivate the outer circuit (don’t forget, the dual cooking
zone must be selected before the dual zone sensor can operate to turn the outer zone on or off).
• An indicator light (
6
) shows when the outer zone is active.
Note - For improved safety, your hob is fitted with a temperature limiter preventing the zone from
overheating should a pot boil dry etc.
ENERGY SAVING
You can save energy during everyday cooking if you follow below hints.
• When you heat up water, use only the amount you need.
• Only use pots with a solid level base. An uneven base may prolong cooking time and waste energy.
• If it’s possible, always put the lids on the cookware.
• Before you activate the cooking zone put the cookware on it.
• Use pots with a base diameter slightly larger than that of the thermal area. This will ensure even heat
distribution and prevent spillage from dripping onto and staining the hot zone.
• Put the smaller cookware on the smaller cooking zones.
• Put the cookware directly in the centre of the cooking zone.
• To save energy, switching the plates off 5 to 10 minutes before the end of a lengthy cooking period.
The appliance should retain sufficient residual heat to complete the cooking process.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Ceran glass is a tough, durable material, which provides a beautiful, functional and long lasting
cooking surface. To keep it looking good, it needs to be treated with care and cleaned regularly.
• Wipe spillage off as soon as possible with a damp cloth, preferably while the hob is still warm.
• Clean the hob with a nylon pad and a suitable smooth top cleaning solution. Remove calcium stains
(yellow stains) by applying a small amount of lime remover such as vinegar or lemon juice. Other
suitable commercially available products can also be used.
• If necessary stubborn spills may be removed using a blade scraper.
• Do not use metal scourers or coarse abrasive powders as these could scratch the Ceran glass.
• Regular cleaning after use will prevent dirt build up and ensure that the hob remains clean and
attractive.
• Wipe the hob surround with a damp hot soapy cloth and dry.
• Avoid using pots with rough edges which could scratch the Ceran glass.
• Avoid dragging pots across the surface of the hob as this could also scratch the Ceran glass.
9

• Any spillage of sugar solution such as jam, must be removed immediately. If allowed to cool on the
Ceran glass it could pit and damage the surface.
• The bottom of the cookware must be as thick and flat as possible. Ensure pan bases are clean and dry
before placing on the hob surface.
• Do not use poor quality aluminium pots. These could leave unsightly deposits which in time, could
adhere to the Ceran glass.
Cookware made of enamelled steel and with aluminium or copper bottoms can cause a colour
change on the glass-ceramic surface.
• Do not use a Steam Cleaner to clean this appliance.
