INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasin this UFO Li ht source.
Please read these instructions fully before connectin your unit to the electrical supply, and keep them
for future reference.
The UFO MicroLED ran e of li ht sources utilises an RGBW LED array and is suitable for use with either
lass or polymer fibre-optic harness
This MicroLED is powered by a 100-240VAC PSU or LED Driver.
IMPORTANT
THIS PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE
INSTALLATION CODE BY A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AND
OPERATION OF THE PRODUCT AND THE HAZARDS INVOLVED.

TYPE Y ATTACHMENT: If the external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire or
associated PSU/driver is dama ed. It shall be exclusively replaced by the
manufacturer or his service a ent or a similar qualified person to avoid a hazard.
LOCATION: Do not locate this luminaire closer than 200mm from any flammable
surface.
CLEARANCE/VENTILATION: It is imperative that a ap of 200mm is le around the
unit. This is to allow air to circulate and prevent overheatin . The location must
have free ventilation and must not have a ambient temperature hi her than that
specified for the luminaire.
MOUNTING: This is a fixed luminaire. See separate mountin plate instructions for
fixin to surface.
WARNING: Never look directly into the Luminaire LED li ht source.
IMPORTANT: The luminaire should be positioned so that prolon ed starin into the
luminaire at a distance closer than 0.33 m is not expected.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
POWER SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS
This luminaire is powered by a 12V Power Supply Unit or 12V Constant Volta e Driver. Remove the
PSU/driver from its box. The driver caters for UK/European/other mains supplies usin the relevant
power cord supplied.
Connect the jack plu into the socket in the back, and the li ht source is now ready for connection.

MOUNTING
If usin the metal mountin plate proceed as follows:
STEP 1
Remove the rubber feet from the bottom of the Li ht Source
STEP 2
Push fit three of the expansion fittin s into the holes vacated by the feet as shown –
DO NOT fit an expansion fittin into the foot hole at the rear below the push buttons
STEP 3
Place the mountin plate on the base as shown and push the remainin expansion
fittin throu h the plate into the hole that does not have one fitted. Fit all four
screws and ti hten. Do not over ti hten
The luminaire can now be fixed securely to the mountin surface.

CONNECTION
There are 3 connections required – the fibre port, the mains supply and the DMX interlink cable. The
fibre port should be connected first. Connect and secure the fibre optic connector into the front of the
unit and secure usin the M5 lockin screw.
Plu the mains plu into the electrical supply socket. Switch on power the led Indicator will illuminate
and the li ht source will start up automatically. If no li ht is produced consult the TROUBLESHOOTING
section.
NOTE: THESE LIGHT SOURCES ARE NOT MAINS DIMMABLE.
Now, connect up the RJ45 cable between the Master Li ht Source and the Slave or the Remote
Controller and the Slave, usin the RJ45 sockets provided on the back of the li ht source – it doesn’t
matter which socket is used.
There are three modes of Slave operation – Standalone, Master/Slave and Remote DMX.
STANDALONE OPERATION
To use the Slave in manual standalone operation remove the DMX connector from the RJ45 socket at
the rear of the Slave and it will now respond to manual commands from the 2 control
buttons as detailed below.
OPERATION
The LED Li ht source has 2 colour cycles each with 3 different speed settin s as detailed below:

The Li ht Source is controlled usin the 2 push buttons on the rear of the unit.
The Lower button STOPS and STARTS the colour Cycle
The Upper button is used to select the Cycle speed as follows. Push the Lower button repeatedly until
the colour White is displayed. The li ht source is now in Cycle 1 speed A as detailed below. Each push
reduces the speed. On the third push the colour Red will be displayed. The li ht source is now in Cycle 2
speed A.

At any time the cycle can be stopped on a colour and started a ain usin the Lower push button.

DMX OPERATION
To use the Slave in DMX operation connect a DMX Cat5 cable between one of the RJ45 sockets at the
rear of the Slave Li ht Source and the DMX Controller- see RJ45 connection details and drawin below:

The Li ht Source is defaulted to address 001 – the address cannot be chan ed.
Each Li ht Source occupies 4 DMX channels see Channel Table below:
