This Compact Disc Changer/Player has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital device In accordance with the
specifications in Subpart J of Part 15 of FCC Rules. This equipment generates and uses radio frequency energy. and It must be Installed and used
properly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
CAUTION
This product is designed for 12Volt DC Negative ground systems only. Your vehicle is compatible with this equipment if the negative
(-) terminal of the battery Is connected to the vehicle’s body/chassis.
USE OF CONTROLS OR ADJUSTMENTS OF PERFORMANCE OR PROCEDURES OTHER THAN THOSE SPECIFIED MAY RESULT IN
HAZARDOUS RADIATION EXPOSURE. DO NOT REMOVE THE CHANGER/PLAYER COVER. THERE ARE NO USER SERVICABLE
PARTS INSIDE. REFER TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL ONLY.
:NVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
l
The unit may not function properly if exposed to extreme temperatures. To assure normal operation, keep vehicle’s Interior temperature within
normal range.
l
In cold environmental conditions, water mist/moisture may form on the optical lens when the vehicle intenor heater is turned ON. Allow moisture
to evaporate before use.
l
Do not expose your unit to extreme levels of humidity or dusty environments.
l
Playing a Disc while driving on a very bumpy road may result in skips, but this will not scratch the Disc or damage the player
l
Only use compact Discs which have this mark :
l
Do not use cracked, bent or scratched Discs.
l
Do not use sprays or cleaners designed for records.
l
Do not expose the Disc to direct sunlight. Excessive heat will warp the Disc.
l
If moisture gets into your compact disc player, you may not hear any sound even though
your compact disc player appears to be working. Remove the disc from the player and
wait until it dries.
l
Handle compact discs carefully, especially when you are inserting them. Hold them on the
edge and do not bend them. Avoid getting fingerprints on them, particulary on the shiny
side.
l
Dirt, scrapes, warping, pin holes, or other disc damage could cause the player to skip or to
repeat a section of a track. (To see a pin hole, hold the disc up to the light.)
l
Remove discs from the compact disc player when you are not listening to them. Store
them in their plastic cases away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
To clean a compact disc : Wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth that has been dampened with
water. Wipe in a straight line from the center to the edge of the disc(not in circles). Dry it
with another soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use a conventional record cleaner or anti-static
device. If you continue to play a disc with rough edges, flakes will fall on to the signal side of
the disc and cause sound skipping or other problems.
A new disc may have rough edges on its inner
and outer
perimeter. Removethe rough edges
by pressing the side of a ball-point pen or
pencil against the inner and outer perimeter of
the disc as shown
Compact Discs may not always be recorded at the same volume level or with the same quality. This may result !n different volume levels hetween
Disc and radio.

Four(4) transport screws has been attached to the set in order to
protect it during transportation. Be sure to remove the transport
screws before mounting the set. The removed transport screws
should be retained in the accessory hag for use in the next time the
set is transported.

PRECAUTIONS WHEN HANDLING MAGAZINES

Do not put the magazine in a place where it will be exposed to high tenlperatures or direct sunllght.
l
Do not disassemble the magazine.
l
Take care not to drop the magazine or knock it against anythlny
l
Do not use cracked or warped trays.
l
Never insert anything other than discs. Do not attach a label or tape to a disc.
l
The use of benzine, thinner, insecticide, or other volatile chemicals may damage the magazine surface

more than one label will cause malfunction.

Be sure to remove the disc before changing a disc a tray.

If the tray is not alligned with the right and left grooves, it cannot be pushed to the end. Do not bend or force the tray.
l
Always load 6 trays in a magazine to prevent loss or warping of trays.
l
If you load a disc with the label generally printed in black facing down, not only WIII the player not be able to recognize whether the disc is set
or not, but also, if you have a CD changer controller. the controller will not display an error message to let you know about it. So make sure
all the discs in each magazine have their label sides facing up.

Basic Pre - Installation Notes
1) Identification Keys - CD Button on the front panel of the radio.
This button confirms that the factory radio in your vehicle has an input to add a CD
Changer. If you do not seea CD Button on the front of the factory radio, consult your
salescounselor before attempting installation.
2) Noted for Focus and Cougar vehicles only -
A cable will be required to run from the mounting location of the Changer
(typically the trunk area) to behind the factory radio. This will require the
removing the factory radio in order to plug the cable in the back of the radio.

Basic Installation Instructions
Identification Keys: CD Button on the front panel of the radio.
Cables
There are 2 different cables enclosed in this package.
The cables required for correct installation are marked asfollowed:
CDL F12 and CAS FlO: Use with Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable vehicles
CDL F12 only: Use with Mercury Cougar and Ford Focus vehicles
Instructions for Ford Focus and Mercury Cougar
1) Use the enclosed CDL F12 for the installation (see chart below to confirm year,
make, and model)
2) Remove the factory radio
3) Mount CD Changer in area of your choice, typically in the trunk
4) Plug cable into the CD Changer and run cable to area behind the factory radio
5) Plug cable into the factory radio wiring harness. Replace factory radio. Insert CD
Cartridge into the changer (make sure the cartridge has at least one CD in it)
6) Test the CD Changer to confirm correct operation. If not working then turn the
vehicle’s power on and off and retry
Instructions for Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable
1) Attach the short CAS FlO cable to the long CDL F12, seechart below to confirm
year, make and model
2) Mount CD Changer at a location of your choice in the trunk area
3) Plug cable into the CD Changer and run cable to the factory pre-wired location in
the trunk area of vehicles. Note: Do not run cable to behind the factory radio !
4) Plug cable into factory radio wiring harness. Install CD Cartridge into the
changer (make sure the CD cartridge hasat least one CD in it)
5) Test CD Changer to confirm correct operation. If not working then turn the
vehicle’s power on and off and retry

Be sure to mount the player on a rigid surface which is firm enough to hold the player in the proper position under all circumstances. Failure to
do so may affect the optimum performance of the player.

Do not mount the player near the heater outlet, where it would be affected by heat. or near the doors, where ralriwater might splash onto I!.

Do not mount the player on the spare tire board or any other unstable place.

Do not mount the player anywhere that gets the sun and so becomes hot, like on the dashboard or the rear sheI’

. WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
1. Damage due to improper installation, operation, accident, negligence, abuse, or not
following instructions, warnings, and acceptable industry procedures.
2. Damage caused during the shipment or transportation of the product. All claims of this
nature must be presented to the carrier.
3. Damage caused by acts of God, War, or civil disturbance, including without limitation, flood,
fire, storms, earthquake or other acts of nature.
4. Any expenses or cost to remove or reinstall products.
5. Any product without the original serial number and factory seal, or has been serviced or
modified without the authorization of LTI Enterprises Inc.
6. Any product not distributed by an authorized LTI Enterprises Inc. dealer.
. INSTALLATION REGISTRATION:
To provide warranty coverage from the date of installation the limited warranty registration
card with this information must be completed and returned to LTI Enterprises Inc. within thirty
(30) days of the installation.

TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE:
Contact the Customer Service center printed on the back of this warranty for assistance. A
detailed description of the problem(s) is required for service. Proof of purchase is also required
when sending a product for warrant service. If the problem cannot be resolved and the
product must be returned for service you will receive an authorization from the service center.
The product must be delivered pre-paid to the service center. LTI Enterprises Inc. will, at our
option, repair the product or replace it with new or reconditioned product, and if it was
shipped to the service center, the return shipping will be pre-paid free of charge provided the
repairs are covered by the warranty. The product must be packed securely for shipment to the
service center in order to preserve the warranty and prevent damage.
NO IMPLIED WARRANTY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR USE,
APPLIES TO THIS PRODUCT AFTER THE THREE YEAR PERIOD AS DEFINED ABOVE,
AND NO OTHER EXPRESSED WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE, EXCEPT AS MENTIONED
