Safety Instructions
The following safety instructions will increase the life of the Product. Follow all precautions and instructions. Except as
described in this Manual, refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Do not use damaged power cords, accessories, or
other peripherals. Do not use strong solvents such as thinners, benzene, or other chemicals on or near the surface.
Disconnect the AC power and remove the battery pack(s) before cleaning. Wipe the Product using a clean
cellulose sponge or chamois cloth dampened with a solution of nonabrasive detergent and a few drops of warm
water and remove any extra moisture with a dry cloth.

Keep the User Manual that comes with the package for future reference.
Read the Safety Instructions carefully and thoroughly. All cautions and warnings on the Product or User
Manual should be noted
Lay the Product on a stable surface before setting it up.
Keep the Product away from humidity and high temperature.

Safety Instructions
The openings on the enclosure are used for air convention and to prevent the Product from overheating.
Do not cover the openings.
Make sure the power voltage is within safety range and has been adjusted properly to the value of
100~240V before connecting the Product to the power outlet.
Never pour liquid into the opening that could damage the Product or cause an electrical shock.
Do not leave the Product in an unconditioned environment with a storage temperature above 60°C (140°F)
or below 0°C (32°F) , which may damage the Product.
Place the power cord in a way that people are unlikely stepping on it. Do not place anything on top of the
power cord.
Always unplug the power cord before inserting any add-on card or module.

If any of the following situations arises, get the Product checked by a service personnel:
● The power cord or plug is damaged.
● Liquid has penetrated into the Product.
● The Product has been exposed to moisture.
● The Product has not worked well or you cannot get it work according to User Manual.
● The Product was dropped and damaged.
● The Product has obvious signs of breakage.

To prevent explosion caused by improper battery replacement, use the same or equivalent type of battery
recommended by the manufacturer only.
Always keep the battery in a safe place.
Always keep the strong magnetic or electrical objects away from the Product.

Transportation Precautions
Charging your battery pack
Airplane Precautions
To prepare the Product for transport, you should close the top cover to protect the keyboard and display panel.
The Product surface is easily dulled if not properly cared for. Be careful not to rub or scrape surfaces when transporting
your Product. You can put your Product in a carry bag for protection from dirt, water, shock and scratches.
If you intend to use battery power, be sure to fully charge your battery pack and any optional battery packs before
going on long trips. Remember that the power adapter charges the battery pack as long as it is plugged into the Product
and an AC power source is connecting. Be aware that it takes much longer to charge the battery pack when the Product
is in use.
Contact your airline if you want to use the Product on the airplane. Most airlines have restrictions for using electronic
devices. Most airlines allow electronic use only between and NOT during takeoffs and landings.
There are three main types of airport security devices: X-ray machines (used on items placed on conveyor belts),
magnetic detectors (used on people walking through security checks), and magnetic wands (hand-held devices used
on people or individual items). You can send your Product through airport X-ray machines. However, it is recommended
that you do not send your Product through airport magnetic detectors or expose it to magnetic wands

Setup
1.Install the battery pack.
2.Connect the AC power adapter and power cord.
The wall outlet differs in type by country. Your Product ships with an adapter compliant with your national standard.
Refer to the chapter “Power Managenent” for more details.
3.Open the top cover.
4.Turn on the power.
When you open the top cover, do not force it down to the table or else the hinges may break! Never lift the Product
by the top cover!

Power Management
AC power adapter
It is strongly recommended to connect the AC power adapter and use the AC power while using this Product for the
FIRST TIME. When the power adapter is connected, the battery pack is being charged immediately.
It is strongly recommended to use the same or equivalent AC power adapter as suggested. Using other power adapter
model may damage either the Product or other devices attached to it.

Connecting the AC power adapter
Battery pack
1) Connect the DC output cable to the Power (DC) input jack at the right hand side of your Product.
2) Connect the AC power adapter with the power cord.
3) Plug the power cord into an AC electrical outlet. When the Product is turned on, the Power Indicator turns on. When
the battery pack is being charged, the Battery Indicator lights red.
The Li-ion battery pack is not charged upon purchase. Initial charging time can be up to 8 hours. We recommend
the battery pack be fully charged before use. When the battery pack is fully charged, the Battery Indicator lights
green
This Product is equipped with a high-capacity Li-ion battery pack. The rechargeable Li-ion battery pack is an internal
power source of the Product.
DO NOT attempt disassembling the battery pack on your own.
Please follow your local laws and regulations to recycle the unused battery pack.

Installing and Removing the battery pack
Your Product may not have its battery pack installed initially. If not, use the following procedures to install the battery
pack.
Never attempt to remove the battery pack while the Product is turned ON, as this may result in the loss of working
data.

Battery pack safety tips
Conserving battery pack power
Replacing or handling the battery pack incorrectly may present a risk of fire or explosion, which could cause serious
injury.
● Only replace the main battery pack with the same or equivalent type of battery pack.
● DO NOT disassemble, short-circuit battery pack or store them to temperatures above 60°C(140°F).
● DO NOT throw the battery pack in fire.
● DO NOT temper with the battery pack. Keep away from the reach of children.
● DO NOT use rusty or damaged battery pack.
● Dispose of battery pack according to local regulations. Check with your local solid waste officials for details about
recycling options or for proper disposal in your area.
Battery pack power is critical to maintain a normal operation without AC power available. If the battery pack power is
not managed well, the saved data and customized settings may be lost.To optimize battery pack power life and avoid
a sudden power loss, follow the tips below:
● Suspend system operation if the system will be idle for a while or shorten the suspend timer's time period.
● Turn off the system if you do not use it for a period of time.
● Disable unnecessary settings or remove idle peripherals.
● Connect an AC power adapter to the system whenever possible.

Charging the battery pack
The battery pack can be recharged while it is installed in the Product. Please note the following tips before recharging
the battery pack:
● Save your work and close all running programs and shut down the system.
● Plug in the AC power adapter with AC power connected.
● You can use the system, suspend system operation or shut down and turn off the system without interrupting the
charging process.
● The battery pack uses Li-ion battery cells that have no “memory effect”. It is unnecessary to discharge the battery
pack before recharging. However, to optimize the battery pack life, we suggest that consuming the battery pack
power completely once a month.
● If you don not use the Product for a long time, it is suggested to remove the battery pack from your Product. This may
be helpful to extend your battery pack life.
● The actual charging time will be determined by the applications in use.
The bottom of the Product can get very hot. Be careful when handling the Product while it is in operation or
recently been in operation. High temperatures are normal during charging or operation.
DO NOT use on soft surface such as beds or sofas which may block the vents.
DO NOT PUT the Product ON YOUR LAP OR OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY TO AVOID INJURY FROM THE HEAT.
CAUTION: The power adapter may become warm to hot when in use. Be sure NOT TO COVER the power
adapter and keep it away from your body.
