2.3.2Dangerof Burning

3.3Unpacking
Tounpack thedevice, removethedeviceoutof thecarton andremovethe
packagingmaterial.
3.4Disposalof thepackaging
Thepackagingprotects thedeviceagainst damagesduringtransit.The packaging
materialsareselectedinaccordancewithenvironmentallycompatibleand
recycling-relatedpoints ofviewand cantherefore berecycled.
Returningthe packaging back tothe materialloopsavesrawmaterials andreduces
thequantities of accumulatedwaste.Takeanypackagingmaterialsthatareno
longer requiredto “GreenDot”recyclingcollectionpoints for disposal.

3.5Setup
3.5.1Setuplocation requirements:
·Inorder toensurethesafeandtrouble-free operationofthedevice,thesetup
location must fulfill the following prerequisites:
·Theappliancemust bepositioned onasolid, even,horizontalandheat-resistant
basewithsufficient load-supporting capacityfor theapplianceitself plus the
heaviest anticipatedcookingcontents.
·Theinductioncookermust notbe operatedonabasewithan iron orsteel content,
asthiscan heatupconsiderably.
·Select aninstallationlocationwherechildren cannot reachtheappliance shot
surface.
·Theapplianceis notintendedasabuilt-inappliance.
·Donot setup thedeviceinahot, wet orextremelydampenvironment ornear
flammablematerial.
·Donot setup theinductioncooker inthevicinityofapplianceand objects which
react sensitivelytomagneticfields (e.g.: Radios, televisions, cassetterecorders,
etc.).
·To operatecorrectly,the appliancerequires asufficientflowofair.Leavea10cm
gaponall sideswhen settinguptheappliance.
·Thecoolairisdrawninbytheundersideof theappliance.Donotcover or block any
ofthe appliancesopenings.
·Theelectrical socket must beeasilyaccessiblesothatthe power leadcanbe
disconnectedeasily,inthecaseof anemergency.

3.5.2PreventingRadiointerference
Theappliancecancauseinterferencetoradios, televisionsorsimilardevices.
Interferencecan beremoved or reducedusingthefollowingmeasures:
·Placetheradio, television etc. as far awayfromthe applianceaspossible.
·Connect theappliancetoadifferent socket, sothatdifferentelectriccircuits are
being usedfor theapplianceandthereceiver experiencinginterference.
·Useacorrectlyinstalled aerial for the receiver inordertoensuregoodreception.
3.6Electrical connection
Inordertoensurethesafeandtrouble-freeoperation ofthe device,the
followinginstructionsmustbeobserved for theelectrical connection:
·Before connectingthedevice,comparetheconnection data(voltageand
frequency)
·onthe ratingplatewiththoseof yourelectrical network. Thisdatamust
agreeinorder that nodamagesoccurinthedevice. Ifindoubt, ask your
qualifiedelectrician.
·Theelectricaloutlet mustbe protectedbya16Asafetycut-out switch.
·Theconnectionbetweenthedeviceand the electrical networkmayemploya3
meter long(max.)extensioncablewithacross-sectionof 1.5mm².Theuseof
multipleplugsor gangs is prohibited becauseofthe dangeroffire that is
involvedwiththis.
·Makesurethat the power cableis undamaged and hasnotbeen installedunder
theovenor over hotorsharpsurfaces.
·Theelectrical safetyof the deviceis onlyguaranteed ifthedeviceis connected to
aproperlyinstalledprotectiveconductor system.Operationsusingan electrical
outletwithoutaprotectiveconductor areprohibited.If indoubt,havethehouse
installationcheckedover byaqualified electrician.
Themanufacturer cannotbe maderesponsiblefordamages thatarecaused
byamissing ordamaged protectiveconductor.

when “H”is displayed,itindicateswarningthat theceramichobmaystillbe
hot. Althoughtheinductioncooker itselfdoesnot generateanyheatduring
thecookingprocess, thetemperatureofthe cookingutensildoesheatthe
hob!
Adhere tothefollowing safetyinstructions inorder toavoidbeing burntby
thehot appliance:

4.1.3SignalTones
Theapplianceemits anacoustic signalafter beingswitchedon andinthe eventofa
fault.
Pleasenote
►The acoustic signalcontinuestosounduntilthefaulthasbeenrectifiedor
the appliancehas been switchedoff.
4.1.4Overheating ProtectionFacility
Theapplianceisequippedwithanoverheating protection facility.If thetemperatureof
theapplianceexceedsthe criticallimit the appropriateerror message “E05”is
displayed.For safetyreasonstheapplianceshuts off further powersupply.Afterthe
cooling-downphasethe appliancecanbe switched off andthenbackonagain.
4.1.5Ratingplate
Theratingplatewiththeconnection and performancedatacan befoundedonthe
back ofthedevice.
5)OPERATIONAND HANDLING
Observethefollowingtoavoiddangers anddamages:

5.1Functioning andAdvantages ofInduction cookers
Withan inductioncooker the heatis nottransferredbyaheating elementviathe
cookingutensiltothefoodtobecooked,butrather thenecessaryheatis generated
directlyinthecookingpot withtheaidofinductioncurrents.
Aninductioncoil underneaththeceramic glasshobgeneratesanalternating
electromagnetic field, whichpenetrates theceramic glass hoband induces the heat-
generating currentinthebaseofthecookware.
Advantagesof theInductioncooker
·Energy-savingcookingduetodirect energy transfer tothepot.
·Enhancedsafetysinceenergyisonlytransferred when apotis placedon the hob.
·Energytransfer betweentheinductioncookingzoneandthebaseof thepotwith
highdegreeofefficiency.

Thecookingpotusedfortheinductioncookingsurfacemust be madeofmetal,having
magnetic characteristics andhaveasufficient,flat bottomsurface.
Hereishowto decideifthe potissuitable:
Ensurethatthe potbears aninscription statingits suitabilityfor cooking withinduction
current, orperformthe following magnet test:

board) closeto thebase ofyourcooking pot.Ifit
is
stronglyattractedthenyoucanusethecooking pot on

5.3SafetyInstructions

►Donotleavetheapplianceunattendedduring operation,sothatyou can
intervenequicklyintheeventofdanger.
►Donotmovethe applianceduringoperation or withhot cookware onthe hotplate.
►Ensurethatthe cookwareis properlycentered onthehob.Itmust notbepositioned
onthecontrol paneloronthe frame.
►Inorder topreventoverheating donotplaceanyaluminiumfoilor metalpanelson
the appliancesurface.
►Donottouchthe hot surfaceoftheceramichob.
Althoughtheinductioncooker itselfdoesnotproduceanyheatduringthe
cookingprocess, thetemperature ofthecookwaredoesheat upthehob.
►The acoustic signalcontinuestosounduntilthefaulthasbeenrectifiedor
the appliancehas been switchedoff.
Keepthehobandtheundersideofthe potcleananddryatalltimes.Ifliquid
gets betweenthebaseofthepotandthe hob,thisliquidcanvaporiseand the
resulting pressurecancausethe pottojumpintotheair,witharesulting risk of
injury.
►Switchthe applianceoffafter use.This avoidsunnecessaryuseofenergy,
and ensuresyoursafety.
►Iftheapplianceis unusedfor extendedperiodsoftime,werecommend that
the appliancebe unpluggedfromthe mains.
5.4Operating theAppliance
5.4.1SwitchingOn
1) Plug thepower plugintoasuitableoutlet.
2) Thetemperatureofthe cooker platesurfacedisplayed:Ifthe temperatureofthe
surfaceof theinductioncookerlower than120F,the displayshows „L“.
When thetemperatureofthecooker platesurfaceis over 120F,itdisplays „H“.
Anacoustic signalsounds.Nowthe deviceisinstandbymode.

3) Place a suitablecooking pot with its contentsto becooked on thecentre on thehob
(Ø120mm -260mm).
4)Nowpress the ON/STANDBYswitch 1. toturn ontheVP1-14A-5.The
control lamps "Level"and “Temp”blink andan acousticsignal sounds.
5.4.2Select Powerlevel/temperatureas pertheguidelinesprovidedbelow
PowerMode
•Press thefunctionkey4.The preset power stage "8" is selected and thedevice
turnson.
•Withthe + /-Keys(5+6),youcanchange thesettingsat anytimeinarange
from1 –12.
Pleasenote
Werecommendtoselect thefunction “PowerMode”incaseofsteaming food
or boiling water . Sotheoverheatingprotection “E05”will not be activated.
TemperatureMode
·Press theFunction Key 3. toselect the temperature.The preset temperature
stage "220F" isselectedand thedeviceturnson.
·Withthe + / -keys,youcanchange thesettingsat anytimeinarangefrom140-
430F.(Temperaturestages: 140, 160,180,200,220, 250,280,310,340,370,400
and430F).
·Pleasenotethatthe twofunctionsofleveland temperature canbechosenas
alternative.You caneitherworkwiththepowerlevels or withthetemperature
stages. Themostrecentlyselected functionis active.
·The temperature is measured bya sensor belowthe glassceramic plate, therefore
the displayedtemperaturecandeviatefromthe temperatureinthepot.
Pleasenote
Incaseofgrillingor cookingdeep fryfood wewouldadviseyou tousethe
function “Temperature”as inthis caseyou canusetemperaturesupto430F.
Otherwisethe overheatingprotection “E05”will beactivated.

5.4.3Timer
·Timer Function.Press thebuttonTimer 2.
·Withthe+/-keys, youcan nowselectthe operating timein1-minuteintervals (up
to max. 180 minutes).If “+”or “-”keyifpressed for 2secondcontinuously,then time
increases/decreasesby10mins.Oncethe timeis up,an acoustic signalsoundsand
the deviceautomaticallygoesintostandbymode.
Pleasenote
►Duringtimer operation,youcanchangethedurationatanytimewiththe+/-keys.
Withthememoryfunctionofthe device,thepowerstageortemperaturesettings
remain
unchangedhere.
5.4.4Switching Off
·When youswitchoff the devicevia “On/Standby”andthetemperature ofthe
cooker platesurfaceislowerthan120F,thedisplayshows „L“.When the
temperatureof the cooker platesurfaceis over120F,it is displaying „H“.
Pleasenote
Donotplaceanyemptycookwareontheceramic field.Heating anemptypot or
panactivatestheoverheatingprotectionandthe deviceturns off.
Donot operatethedeviceif itis damagedinanywayor doesnotfunction properly.
The useofaccessoriesandspareparts not recommended bythemanufacturer
mayleadtodamageon thedeviceandinjuries.
6) CLEANINGANDMAINTENANCE
Pleasefollowinstructionstopreventdamagesdue tocleaninghandlingdevice
incorrectlytoensure trouble-freeoperation.
6.1Safetyinformation
Attention
Pleaseobservethefollowingsafetynotices, beforeyou commencewithcleaning
thedevice:
·Thedevicemustbecleaned and food residuesmustbe removed atregular

intervals.If the deviceis notmaintainedinaclean condition,this will havea
detrimental effect ontheservicelifeof the deviceandcanalsoresult ina
dangerousconditioninthedeviceaswellas inthe growthoffungus and bacteria.
·Switch the device off prior tocleaningitand unplug theplug fromthe wall power
outlet.
·Thehobcanbe hot after use.Thereis adangerofburning!Waituntilthe
appliancehas cooled down.
·Clean the hobafter useassoon as it has cooled down.Extendedwaiting
complicates cleaning.Excessiveaccumulationsofdirtcaneven damage
thedeviceundercertaincircumstances.
·Ifdampness penetrates intothedevice, this can damagethe electronic
components.
Pleaseensurethatnoliquidcanenter theinterior ofthedevicethroughthe
ventilation slots.
·Donot immersetheapplianceinwateror other liquids,and donot putitinthe
dishwasher.
·Donot useanyaggressiveor abrasivecleaningagentsor solvents.
·Donot scrapeoff stubborn dirtwithharditems.
6.2Cleaning

·Clean the hob,thehousing ofthedeviceandtheoperating panelwithasoft,
slightlydampcloth.
Attention
►Inordertoavoiddamagetoplastic components, do notuseanysolvent-based
cleaningdetergents suchas, for example,petrol.
7)TROUBLESHOOTING
Observethe following noticestoavoiddangersanddamages:
