Two-Antenna Co-Locating Mount for Cisco 3802e APs
Mounting Instructions
Preliminary: These mounting instructions assume the user will be connecting Ventev's antennas to Ventev's
Strong Arm Mounts (SAM), and the combined Antenna-Strong Arm Combination will be mounted to the
Two-Antenna Co-Locating Mount (TACL)
Note: The Two-Antenna Co-Locating Mount (TACL) can be mounted on any at surface including, but not
limited to, walls, ceilings, and I-beams. Mounting hardware is not included with this product. User should
identify the mounting surface and then purchase the appropriate mounting hardware.
Caution: Ensure the mounting surface will support the fully assembled unit’s weight including the TACL
itself, the access point, the Strong Arm Mounts, and the antennas.
1. Select a compatible Ventev antenna from the "Compatible Ventev Antennas" list and attach it to a
Ventev Strong Arm Mount (SAM)
2. Attach the combined antenna/mount to the Two-Antenna Co-Locating Mount's (TACL) antenna
mounting plate. Tighten the SAM's locking screws so the mount does not move.
3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 if a second Antenna/Mount will be used. Attach the second Antenna/Mount to
the TACL's second antenna mounting plate.
4. Attach a Cisco 3802e Access Point to the Two-Antenna Co-Locating Mount's (TACL) access point mount
slots. Note: The AP can be mounted on the bottom of the tray so the AP's blue light can be visible from
the ground, or on the inside of the bottom tray so the AP itself is not visible from the ground. This is a
user option.
5. Connect one antenna's pigtails to the AP's DART connector. Connect the other antenna's pigtails to the
AP's four antenna ports.
6. Raise the entire assembly (TACL, SAMs, Antennas, AP) into the pre-drilled mounting location and secure
into place using user-provided mounting hardware.
