4 Positioning and installation
4.1 Installation
The outdoor furnace is made of several pieces, and its use may be extended by purchasing additional equipment - see Chapter 5.1.
The transport package consists of two pallets placed on each other and pulled together with protective foil.
Thanks to the construction-type conception, it is possible to transfer particular parts separately and there’s no need in transportation of the
complete package to the place of installation. With respect to the fact that the product is made from high-quality cast iron, particular components
are heavy, and we recommend that you carry out manipulation with help of two physically strong persons and be particular about the safety.
4.2 Possibilities of placement
Select a suitable place for the placement of the furnace. Make sure that it is out of reach of all flammable subjects or subjects which don’t
tolerate heat. Please remember that during the use of the furnace, the surrounding space can be polluted by dripping oil from the grilling plate or
by flowing-off dirty rain water running away from the furnace.
That's why we don’t recommend installation on a light surface, for example, clear concrete or interlocking pavement. In case of strong wind, ass
from the furnace may be partially blown away.

7

Additional accessories (it is not a part of supply):
Cost-iron kettle with a cover
WOK cast-iron saucepan
Protective canvas for covering the furnace
Boiler equipment ordered as "additional equipment" is not included to the basic price of the furnace.
5.2 Mounting procedure
Prepare a base for placing the pedestal bottom part The base for the furnace must be firm and flat. Put the pedestal bottom part and make sure
that it firmly put without side tilting. Take out the pedestal middle part from the package and carefully put it onto the bottom part. Doing so, be
particular about the safety and be careful during inserting separate parts into each other to exclude squashing your fingers. We recommend that
you use working gloves. Screw the guiding laths to the pedestal upper part for the ash-pan - 4 pcs M6 screws from the package. After insertion
of two parts of the pedestals into each other, put on also the upper part. By this, the pedestal is completed. Make sure again that the whole
pedestal firmly stayed and wasn’t tilted. Fig. №. 3.
After that install the furnace bottom part. Screw the draught regulator to the bottom part with a washer 8 and screw M8x14 to the furnace center
according to Fig. №. 2. Put the from top side onto the pedestal upper part so that the regulator lever was directed from the forehead of the
assembly. Fix the furnace part with the pedestal which help of supplied screws M8x25. Fig. №. 2.
Place the upper grill plate (the from upper side) onto the furnace bottom part. Be careful again during putting to exclude squashing your fingers.
The plate is put freely without fixation. We recommend that you put it according to pictures with its wider edge directed to the furnace front part.
After installation of all basic elements, check putting of the grill plate with help of a water level and, if necessary, level the whole assembly of the
pedestal by underlaying. To level the grill plate with help of a water level is beneficial to exclude excessive descent of oil, fat or juices from the
cooked meals to one place. Screw the legs to the grate, and consequently put them into four holes in the furnace upper part. Eventually just
insert the ash-pan into the guiding laths in the pedestal.
6 Commissioning
6.1 Preparation before the first use
All contact surfaces, which during the correct use contact with foodstuffs, are treated on the production plant with a protective layer on the basis
of vegetable oil. Therefore some parts may be sticky, which doesn’t mean defect.
For the preparation of foodstuffs, we recommend that you use oil with a higher smokiness point. These are refined oils, for example, rape,
sunflower, corn or olive oil. (Extra virgin olive oil is not suitable).

8
6.2 Procedure before using
Clean up absolutely the surface with a clout.
Put dry wood chips into the furnace.
Open shutters of air supply regulation to the extreme position.
Kindle the prepared wood. To ensure easier kindling, use firm fire-lighter. As a suitable fuel for the use is hard wood, for example, beech or
oak.
With using a paper wipe or a clout, apply several times vegetable oil on the grill plate.
Add fuel into the furnace as necessary and wait till the furnace is warmed during at least 2 hours. Where necessary regulate air supply.
Wait till the fire is spontaneously burnt out up to full extinction and the grill plate is cooled down. Cast iron, which is used, soak hot oil and
after a repeated use will be darkened, and can have even black color.
Now you have prepared the grill to use.
7 Servicing of the grill by user
7.1 Usual use of the grill
In usual use, kindle the fuel about 45 minutes (depending on quantity and type of the used wood) before the planned use of the grill. After expiry
of this time, the grill plate is ready for cooking meals, and its temperature will be about 250°C. The warmest part of the plate is in the central part
more closely to the furnace. Due to non-uniform laying of fuel and possible wind, temperature of the grill plate may differ in its different parts.
Use the warmest part for cooking meat, and use cooler parts for cooking fish, vegetables, cheeses and so on.
As soon as the grill plate starts warming, scrape with a scraper excessive fat and possible impurities in the direction of the furnace and apply
new oil to the place where you are going to prepare meals. Clean the grill plate with a clout or with a paper wiper. Be careful during
manipulation; the used oil has high temperature in this phase. Add oil where necessary during cooking.
Depending on fuel quantity and a need in regulation, you may adjust supply of primary air with a lever under the furnace vessel - see Fig. №. 4
8 Maintenance
8.1 After grilling
The simplest method how to extinguish flame is to wait until it burns out in the vessel of the furnace. Set the draught regulation lever into the
middle position to fully open the holes between the draught regulator and the furnace vessel. Fuel will be step by step burn out, and originating
ash will fall down into the ash-pan.
Don’t use water for quenching.
The furnace and other components are made from high-quality cast iron, which has high heat capacity. Thanks to it the furnace can be hot even
after several hours after using.
8.2 Cleaning of the furnace
After partial cooling-down of the grilling plate, scrape impurities with a spattle and afterwards clean the grill plate with help of a clout or a paper
wiper. After that, apply new oil onto contact surfaces to renew the protective film on the grill plate and to exclude corrosion.
The remnant of ash, which remained in the furnace vessel, scrape from their walls or sweep out to its bottom and drop them down into the ash-
pan in the pedestal. After that, simply take out the ash-pan, make sure that ash is sufficiently cold down and throw it out.
Don’t use water or chemical preparations for cleaning the grill plate. They cause removal of the protective fat film and generation of corrosion. It
can also occur as a result of insufficient treatment of the grill plate or in case of long-term non-using the grill.
In case of corrosion, it can be simply removed by cleaning with a proper material, for example, with wire wool, wire brush, or with abrasive-
coated paper. And consequently treat the surface according to art. 6.2.

9
9 IMPORTANT WARNINGS
FAILURE TO OBSERVE INSTRUCTIONS SPECIFIED IN THESE WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS
DAMAGE OF THE HEALTH, DEATH, FIRE AND PROPERTY DAMAGES.
9.1 DANGER
The furnace is designed only for outdoor using.
While using in indoor premises, combustion products can threaten the health or cause death.
Don’t use the furnace at a distance lower than 1.5 m from flammable materials.
Never pour petrol, liquid fire-lighter or alcohol on glowing coal.
Don't leave the children on their own near the glowing furnace.
During manipulation with the grill, be sufficiently careful. The furnace is intensely warmed during operation;

Don’t store flammable materials near it.
Use only fire-lighters in accordance with Norm EN 1860-3.

10
9.3 Disclaimer - safety warning
Similarly as most of products designed for thermal processing meals, the VIAGRILL radiates heat, is hot to the touch and remains hot
for a long time after the termination of addition of fuel. All parts of the VIAGRILL outdoor furnace (parts of the pedestal, furnace
vessel, grill plate, ash-pan, draught regulation) are overheated during the use. Make actions to exclude that neither you nor other
people from your surrounding touch the grill when it is glowing.
The VIAGRILL outdoor furnace is designed for the combustion of lump wood or wood-coal. We don’t recommend the use of other fuel
or materials. Prior to throwing-out ash, make sure that it is fully cold down and can’t cause fire or other property damage.
