1 General information

1.1 Symbols and their meaning

These operating instructions employ symbols that are intended to help the user

find information faster and more effectively. These symbols are explained

below.

Caution: This symbol is used to draw your attention to the correct operating

procedure in order to avoid damage to the system and other devices.

Caution: Dangerous Voltage! This symbol is intended to alert the user to the

presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage" within the products inclosure that

may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electrical shock to person.

− Lists are introduced by a dash (−).

1.2 Product description

This lightweight, slim design LCD monitor includes many outstanding features

and combines the benefit of a high resolution display. Your LCD monitor is safe

to use and completely free from any X−ray radiation. We hope you enjoy our

product, and would like to provide the following additional information to assist

you in obtaining the best results, using the product safely and in complete

comfort.

This product uses 15"/ 20" colour active matrix TFT (thin−film transistor)

monitor, providing high quality displayed images. The maximum achievable

resolution is 500 TVL, display colour 262.144, which enables the display of

complex and high quality images. In addition, the monitor also provides access

to the new OSD (On Screen Display) controls and has built in multi−media

speakers.

1.3 Product features

− High contrast colour TFT LCD monitor, resolution up to resolution 500TVL

− Video signal BNC−, S−Video−Terminal and Audio signal RCA Jack

− Complete OSD function optimizes the screen display

1.4 Safety precautions

Caution: Read these operating instructions carefully before starting up any of

the components. This will avoid any damage or malfunction resulting from

incorrect use.

1. Only operate the device with the stated operating voltage.

2. Never use the device for any purposes other than those designated.

3. Repairs may only be carried out by authorized personnel.

4. Use the device only in dry, dust−free, non−hazardous locations.

5. The device shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects

filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the device.

6. Do not touch the screen directly with fingers.

The oils from your skin may leave marks an the surface of the screen, which

are difficult to be removed and may damage the screen permanently.

7. Do not apply pressure to the LCD screen because the LCD is very delicate

and fragile component.

8. Do not allow any cables from the monitor to lie an the floor in an area where

pedestrians are likely to trip causing injury and do not put any heavy

subjects on the power− or signal cable.

9. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

10.Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the

manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution

when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip−over.

11. Please follow the instructions on maintenance and care of the device which

are contained in these operating instructions (see chapter 3.8).

Caution: Dangerous Voltage! Disconnect the device from the power supply

immediately if any liquid or solid matter enters the housing. Have the device

checked by your authorized dealer before using it again.

12.Observe any warning signs that may be attached to the device.

13.Protected the power supply externally.

14.Install the device in such a way that no vents are covered and also make

sure that the vents are not covered by any foreign objects. Do not insert any

metal objects into the ventilation holes of the monitor case.

15.To avoid the accumulation of heat in the housing:

− the device should not be exposed to direct sunlight and

− the device should be kept at a sufficient distance from direct heat sources.

16.Disconnect the device from the power supply if you are not going to be

using the device for long periods of time or during lightning storms.

17.Do not attempt to dismantle the device. Any attempt to dismantle or remove

the covers from the device will invalidate the warranty and may also result in

serious injury.

18.Do not put the mains− or signal cable in humid places.

19.The device is supplied with a groundet mains plug. The mains plug provides

an additional safety feature for anyone using this equipment and should not

be removed. Please contact a authorized personnel for assistance if the

mains plug or electrical connections appear to differ from the local supply

provided.

20.Do not remove the grounding connection from the mains plug.

21.Avoid close proximity to other equipment that generate a strong magnetic

field.

1.5 FCC Information

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class

B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of FCC Rules. These limits are designed to

provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential

installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency

energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction, may

cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no

guaranty that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this

equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception,

which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is

encouraged to try to correct the interference by on or more of the following

measures:

− Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna

− Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver

− Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which

the receiver is connected

− Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help

2.1 Input / Output interface

Caution: Avoid directly pulling any cables when disconnecting from the

monitor. Always disconnect devices carefully by firmly gripping the metal or

plastic connector body and gently easing the connector from its socket.

1. AC Input (inlet) connector: Plug male head of mains cable into a wall socket

(AC Adaptor built−in).

2. Video IN (BNC−type): Connect to the output terminal of video equipment,

such as a VCR or a colour video camera.

3. Video OUT (BNC−type): Connect to the input terminal of other video

equipment.

4. Y/C IN (4−Pin mini−Din): Connect to the Y/C output terminal of camera VCR

or other video equipment.

5. Y/C OUT (4−Pin mini−Din): Connect to another Y/C input terminal of camera

VCR or other video equipment.

6. Audio input (RCA Jack): Audio input terminal.

7. Audio output (RCA Jack): Audio output terminal.

2.2 Front control panel

1. Power switch Press to switch monitor on/off.

2. LED indicator Power indicator.

3. Mode Press to select input signal.

4. Plus (+) Press press to increase volume or to increase the

value of OSD option selected.

5. Minus (−) Press press to decrease volume or to decrease the

value of OSD option selected.

6. UP Press to adjust contrast or select OSD options upwards.

7. DOWN Press to adjust brightness or select OSD options

downwards.

8. OSD Menu Recall / close OSD display, enter or return selection.

2.5 Viewing angle

For the other convenience, the LCD screen may be tilted according to viewing

requirements. The monitor can be tilted forward up to 5 degrees or backward

up to 45 degrees.
