READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING AND SAVE THESE
INSTRUCTION
You have made an excellent decision. Vitesse® “Nouveau” home range
offers you an exclusive, high quality range of appliances for your ultimate
home luxury and healthy living.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present,
basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Swivel Bushing
• Please read these instructions before using your hair cutter.
• Ensure that the voltage on the specification plate is the same as that in
your home.
• Unplug this appliance before cleaning.
• Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or
sink.
• Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
• This appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
• Check the condition of the cable occasionally; if deteriorated, take it to an
Authorized Technical Service.
• Before use, ensure that the blades are exactly aligned.
• Do not use with a damaged or broken comb or if the blades lack teeth.
• Do not place appliance on any surface while it is operating.
• To operate properly, the blades must be clean and free of remains of hair.
Clean them before and after each use, with the brush included, and grease
them with a few drops of oil.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not submerge or wet the hair cutter: do not use in water.
• Do not hang where it may fall into water. Should this happen, do NOT pick it
up: unplug it immediately.
• Never drop or insert any object into any opening on this appliance.
• Do not operate the hair clipper for more than 20 mins.
• Do not use in the bathroom.
This clipper do have an Swivel bushing to enhance the power cord change
direction for easy handling during hair cutting
Cutting LengthAttachment
• Cutting LengthAttachment #1 leaves 3-mm hair length.
• Cutting LengthAttachment #2 leaves 6-mm hair length.
• Cutting LengthAttachment #3 leaves 9-mm hair length.
• Cutting LengthAttachment #4 leaves 12-mm hair length.
Each Cutting Length Attachment is marked accordingly on its outside middle
surface.

• While the clipper is running, rapidly move the lever from
“close cut” to “longer cut” a couple of times. Doing this
each time after you have finished using your clipper will
help to keep the blades clear of cut hair. If your clipper
stops cutting and this does not help, your cutting blades
are dulled. Replace them with new blades.
• To cut the back of the neck, we suggest attachment comb #1
or #2, depending on the length you required.
• Start in the center, with the cutter against the head and with
the TEETH FACING UPWARDS. Hold the cutter against the
head and cut a little at a time (Fig. 2).
• As you cut, lift the top of the cutter towards you. Continue
cutting the back from the base of the neck to above the ears.
• To cut the back of the head, use attachment comb #3 or #4, depending on
the one used to cut the neck.
• We suggest the shortest attachment combs (#1 or #2). Cut sideboards and
the area close to the ears from the bottom up.
• Then change to longer guides and continue cutting as far as the top of the
head.
WITH THE CUTTER
• Attachment combs #3 or #4 are recommended.
• Start cutting from the FRONT of the head and advance
TOWARD THE BACK (Fig. 3).
• Remember that it is better to leave the hair a little longer
in the first cuts, until you are used to the cutting length of each guide.
WITH SCISSORS
• For longer hair, use the comb alongside the scissors.
With the comb, lift the tuft of hair to be cut, place it
between your fingers and cut above your fingers.
• Always cut from front to back, gradually leaving the hair
shorter (Fig. 4). Comb frequently to check for possible
mismatched lengths and to remove cut hair.

Recommendations
Before Beginning
To begin
Blade lever
• Hair should be DRY when using this cutter; this enables you to control
better the length cut.
• Make SHORTSTROKES. Do not finish a whole side in a single stroke.
• Remember to comb the hair frequently as it is cut.
• For an EVEN cut, allow the cutter to MOVE GENTLY FORWARD through
the hair. Do not try to force it.
• It is better to cut too little than too much. Always start with the attachment
comb #4.
• Ensure that your hair cutter is clean and there is no hair in the blades.
• Sit the person whose hair is to be cut with their head at your eye level.
• Untangle the hair and comb it in its natural direction.
• The first time you use the cutter, remove a small amount of hair until you
are used to the cutting length of each guide: we suggest starting with
attachment comb #4 (for long hair) and, if you require a shorter cut, switch
to attachment comb #3 or #2.
• Fit the attachment comb with the teeth upward
and secured in the bottom of the blade (Fig.1).
• Set the on-off switch to the ON position.
• The lever is conveniently located near your thumb (if you're right-handed)
so it can easily be adjusted while the clipper is in your hand.
• The lever adds versatility to your clipper by allowing you to gradually
change the closeness of your cut without an attachment comb.
• When the lever is in the uppermost position, the blades will give you the
closest cut and leave the hair very short. Pushing the lever downward
gradually increase the cutting length.
• In its lowest position, the lever will leave the hair approximately the same
length as a comb #1.
• The lever will also extend the use of your blades since the different cutting
edge is used in each setting.
• In addition, if extremely heavy hair cutting has jammed the blades, it will
help you remove hair that has become wedged between the two blades
without removing the blades.

5. THE FINISHING TOUCH
For long hair (locks)
Fringes
Beards and moustaches
• Finishing the cut without attachment comb for closing trimming around the
base of neck, sides and sideboards.
• For straight lines on sideboards and around the ears, hold the cutter at
right angles to the head, upside down, with the blades in contact with the
skin, and move it downward.
• Remove the attachment comb from the blades, and
comb and untangle the hair.
• Part the hair along a line from ear to ear, holding the front
with pegs to keep it out of the way (Fig. 5).
• Part the back part of the hair horizontally into three:
secure the upper layers with pegs (Fig.6).
• Begin cutting the lower layer, using the comb to mark the
length of hair, cutting with the scissors or the clipper,
below the comb in all cases.
• When this layer is cut, repeat the process with the other
two.
• To cut the front, part the hair in the usual place and repeat
the operation described for the back. The hair must be
well combed at all times.
• Dampen the fringe and make a horizontal parting on the top of the head to
define the area to be cut.
• Comb the fringe downwards and separate it horizontally into 2 or 3 layers.
• Secure the upper layer or layers with pegs.
• Comb the bottom layer and hold it down with the fingers, leaving the length
to be cut below your fingers.
• Cut the excess with the scissors, below the fingers at all times. Repeat the
process with the other layers.
• Fit the required guide into the cutter. We suggest that you begin with the
longest and change to shorter guides if you require.
• Start below the chin, moving upward and outward.
• Comb the moustache downward and cut with the scissors.

To clean
Maintenance
SPECIFICATIONS
• Make sure that the cutter is switched off and unplugged before cleaning.
• Clean the outside with a dry cloth.
• Use the brush included to clean the guides and blades.
• Should the cutter block, start it and move the lever a couple of times from
the top to the bottom setting.
• If still blocked, loosen the screws in the back of the blades and clean the
blades.
• Follow the procedure in the section on MAINTENANCE to refit and realign
the blades.
• Remember to place a few drops of oil on the blades after each use.
• Your clippers were carefully examined to ensure
that the blades were oiled and aligned before
leaving our factory.
• Blades must be realigned if they have been
removed for cleaning or replacement.
• To realign the blades, simply match the upper
and bottom blades teeth up, point for point. (End
of top blade teeth should be approximately
1.2mm back from bottom blade. Compare your
clipper blades with the sketch.)
• If blade alignment is incorrect, add a few drops of
oil to the blades, turn clipper on for a few
moments, turn off and unplug. Loosen screws
slightly and adjust. Tighten screws after blade is
aligned.
• To maintain your clipper in peak condition, the
blades should be oiled every few haircuts.
• Do not use hair oil, grease, oil mixed with
kerosene or any solvent. As the solvent will
evaporate and leave the thick oil which may slow
down the blades motion.
