1. Beforeusingyourmotorcycle
1.1 Yourmotorcycleshouldbeassembledbyaproperlyqualifiedmotorcycle
mechanicatadealerauthorisedbyVmotoUK.
1.2 Youshouldundertakealltrainingandcertificationthatislegallyrequired
to ride your motorcycle. Also, if it’s your first time riding this type of
motorcycle,youshouldtestinaquietareaawayfromtraffic.
1.3 Ensurethatyouknowaboutandobeyalltrafficlawsandregulations.
1.4 Alwaysuseappropriateclothing,includingarmouredjacketandtrousers,
motorcyclingboots,glovesandaproperly‐fittedhelmet.
2. Ridingstyleandsafety
2.1 Ridewithforesightandconsiderationforotherroadusers.Alwayskeep
bothhandsonthehandlebarswhileridingandturnthethrottleslowly.
2.2 Neverridewhenundertheinfluenceofalcoholordrugswhichmayaffect
ridingcapability.
2.3 Ridewithexceptionalcareonbumpy,looseorwetsurfaces.
2.4 Payattentiontoanyunusualnoisesorhandlingofthemotorcycle.Ifin
doubt,checkitout.
2.5 Alwaysundertakethepre‐ridechecksmentionedinthisowner’smanual.
2.6 Themotorcyclehasasidestand.Ensurethatthemotorcycleisonaneven,
stablesurfacebeforeusingthestand.
2.7 Neveruseyourmobiletelephoneordoanythingelsewhichmaydistract
youfromridingorfromotherroadusers.

9. Pre‐ridechecks
9.1 Checktyreinflation(seeparagraph14.4),treadandwearandensureno
foreignobjectsarepresent.Iftyresarewornorpunctured,theymustbe
replacedimmediately.
9.2 Checkbrakeoperationandlevelsofbrakefluid(onthehandlebarsnextto
thebrakelevers).Makesurethatdiscsandpadsarenotwornordamaged
andthatthediscisnotwarped.
9.3 Movethesteeringfromsidetoside,ensuringthatthemovementis
smooth and not loose and that there is an equal turn angle in both
directions.
9.4 Ensurechargelevelissufficientforthejourney.Donotstartaridewith
lessthan20%battery.
9.5 Whilethemotorcycleisofforinparkingmode,checkthatthrottle
operationissmooth.
9.6 Check operation of headlights (dipped and full beam), indicators (front
andrear)andhorn.
9.7 Ensurethattherearenoerrormessagesshowing(seeparagraph15).

9.8 Ensure that you are wearing a helmet and appropriate motorcycle
clothing.
10. Riding
10.1 EnsurethatthemotorcycleisunlockedandpresstheStartbutton.While
sittingonthemotorcycle,retractthesidestand.
10.2 Whenreadytopullaway,disengageparkingmodesothatthelightno
longershows

10.3 Topullaway,gentlytwistthethrottletowardsyou
11. Loading
11.1 Forstorage,onlyuseeitherthesparebatterycompartmentorthetrayon
topofthebatterycompartment.Themaximumloadingofamotorcycle
is149kg,includingrider,passengerandcargo.
11.2 Themotorcycleiscertifiedforamaximumof2peopleandthe loading
above.Overloadingisextremelyunsafe.
12. Battery
12.1 Forthefirst3charges,ensurethatthemotorcycleisfullycharged.Also,
makesurethatthemotorcyclereceivesafullchargeatleastevery 2
months.
12.2 The charger will stop automatically. It is not possible to reverse the
polarity.Chargingforalongtime/overnightwillnotdamagethebattery
orthecharger.Howeverthemotorcycleshouldnotbeleftpluggedinfor
morethan24hours.
12.3 Afullchargetakesapproximately7‐8hours.
12.4 Aftercompletingaride,chargethemotorcycletoensurefullbatteryfor
thenextride.

12.5 Ifstoringthemotorcycle,ensurethatthesafetyswitchisinthe off
position and that the battery is unplugged. Preferably, removethe
batteryfromthemotorcycleforstorageandensurechargedatleastevery
twomonths.Failuretodosowilldepletethebatteryandmayleadtoit
needingreplacement.Rechargethebatteryafterstorage.
12.6 Chargingmethod1–batteryin
Plugthechargerleadintothesocketonthesideofthemotorcycle,then
plugthechargerintothewallandturnonthepower.
12.7 Chargingmethod2–batteryout
Openthebatterycompartmentcoverandswitchthesafetyswitchinto
theoffposition,priortoliftingoutthetray

Disconnectthebatteryplugfromthecableinthebatterycompartment
Insertthekeyintothebatterylockandturnclockwisewhilegentlylifting
thebatteryfromthemotorcycle,takingcarenottostrainandcauseinjury,
asthebatteryisheavy

Plugthechargerleadintothebatterysocket,thenplugthechargerinto
theACsocketandturnonthepower
Chargingiscompletewhenalllightsshowsolidgreen
12.8 Neverleavethemotorcyclewithadepletedbatteryasthiscancausethe
batteryvoltagetodipbelowminimumandrequirereplacement.
12.9 Usingthemotorcyclewithadepletedbatterywillshortenthelifeofthe
batteryandcanmakethebatteryinoperable(requiringreplacement).
12.10 Donotattempttomodifyordisassemblethebattery,orperformany
diagnostics. This is extremely dangerous and can result in fire and
explosion.
12.11 Donotchargethemotorcyclewiththeignitionturnedon.
12.12 Theoperationaltemperaturerange for the battery is‐20°Cto45°C.
The temperature range for charging the battery is 0°C to 45°C. The
temperaturerangeforstorageofthebatteryis‐20°Cto35°C.Usingthe
motorcycleorchargingorstoringthebatteryoutsideofthestatedranges
willdamagethebattery.Iftheambienttemperatureisoutsidethestated
rangeforoperationorcharging,movethemotorcycletoaplacewhereit
will cool / warm and do not use or charge until the motorcycle
temperatureiswithinthestatedrange.

13. Electricalsafety
13.1 Only use the original charger and cables supplied with the motorcycle.
Useofotherchargersorcablesisdangerous.Replacefusesinthecharger
plugwiththesametype.
13.2 Onlyoncethechargerisconnectedtothemotorcycle,plugthecharger
intoa13Aoutlet.
13.3 Donotplugtheotherendintothe13Aoutletuntilthechargingcableis
connectedtothemotorcycle.
13.4 Thechargerlightsindicatethelevelofchargeinthebattery.
13.5 Noadaptationshouldberequiredtodomesticwiringalthoughensurethat
miniaturecircuitbreakers(MCBs)arefittedatthedistributionbox.Ifin
doubt,askanelectrician.
13.6 Neverchargethemotorcycleinthewet,orindampconditions.Never
leaveextensioncablesoutsideor on theground.Usinganyelectrical
appliance (including your motorcycle charger) in the wet is extremely
dangerousandcanleadtoseriousinjuryordeath.
13.7 Ifthemotorcycleisinvolvedinanaccident,andthebatterybox is
compromised,thereisaverysmallriskoffireandexplosion.Thebattery
boxislocatedbetweenthewheelsofthemotorcycle.
13.8 Ifthemotorcyclebecomeshottothetouch,startssmokingorgivesoffa
strangesmellyoushouldstopridingandmovetoasafedistancefromthe
motorcyclebeforecallingemergencyservices.Informemergencyservices
thatthemotorcycleuseslithiumionbatteries.
14. Vehiclemaintenance
14.1 You should clean your motorcycle regularly, using products specifically
designedformotorcycles.Donotuseroughorabrasivecleaningproducts
astheywilldamagethefinish.
14.2 Vehiclesparkedoutsidemustbecoveredwithawaterproofcoverinorder
toprotectfromsundamageandwateringress.

14.3 Do not use high pressure cleaners. They can penetrate the seals and
cause electrical faults. Cleaning with a high pressure cleaneris
dangerous.
14.4 Theonlyotherusermaintenancethatshouldbe carriedoutischarging
andtyreinflation.Thecorrectpressureforthetyresis:
(a) front:20‐25PSI
(b) rear:26‐32PSI
14.5 Lowtyrepressureorworntyreswillaffectrangeandhandling.
14.6 All other mechanical issues or error messages should be referred to a
dealerauthorisedbyVmotoUK.Ifanerrormessageappears,inthefirst
instanceturnthemotorcycleoffandthenonagainusingthesafetyswitch.
