Distance
There are two distinct distance settings: For
photography
at close range (portraits,groups and
flash) set the setting ring (1) to the iymbol iii,
and for distant shots (landscapes)
to the sym-
bol -{A
.
Bright-frame
viewf

The bright frame in the viewfinder (6) clearly
indicates
the image
area
you will get on the film.
The four short lines representthe parallax com-
pensation,
in both vertical and horizontaldirect-
ions, when working at a close range (i.
e. por-
traits,groups,
flash).Do not come closer to your
subjectthan1.5meters.
The flash symbol will
appear in the lower
right-hand corner of
the viewfinder only
when the shutter
setting key (3) has
been set to t/30th
second (see "Flash
Photography" on next
page.

Shooting in sunlight
Set the shutter setting key (3) to the symbol X.
Depress the shutter release (4) gently (do not
jerk). . .and your exposure
is made.
The exposure
will be 1/200th
second at a fixed aperture of fl8.
Pleasenote:
lf you set the shuttersetting
key to the
flash
symbol
(see
"Flash
Photography"
on
next page),
the shutterwill operate
at
1/30th
second.This
increasedexposuretime
is to be recommended
under'dull.over-
castconditicns.

Flash
Photography
. . . simple and rapid with flash cubes
All the flash cubes on the market can be fitted
into the circular socket (5), (see illustrationon
front page). After making the exposure and
permitting the shutter release (4) to return to its
normal position, the flash cube automatically
rotates to bring the next bulb into the firing
position.
Do not attempt
to rotatethe flash cube force-
fully (bV hand) in its socket, as this will
damage
the baseof the cube,so that it will
no longer
be heldsecurilyin the socketon the
camera,
When all four lamps
have
beenfired, pullthe flash
cube from the circular socket and replace it with
a new one.
Shutter setting: Set the shutter setting key (3) to
the symbol I . This sets the shutter to 1/30th
second, and at the same time the flash symbol
appears in the lower right-hand corner of the
viewfinder.
Do not attempt
to use flash while the shutter
settingkey is setto the sunsymbol.Whilethe
flash cubewouldfire perfectly
at this setting,
theshort
exposure
timeof 1/200thsecond
would
leadto incorrectflashexposure.

Battery: The power for the capacitor ignition is
provided by a 15Volt battery.
To insert the battery,
push the base plate in the direction of the arrow
marking(11) and then lift off the plate at the end
oppositethe arrow.The positivepole of thebattery
must engagewith the springcatch.
