Chapter 1 Overview
1.1 Description
Integrate with the built-in pan/tilt unit, the high spee ome features highly sensitive response
an reliable performance. The spee ome can be a opte in various surveillance fiel s with its
full-integral functions an features, such as corri or, large venue, meeting room, station, community,
etc.
Figure 1-1 Appearance
1.2 Functions
OSD (On Screen Display)
The on-screen isplay is an image superimpose on a screen picture, use for isplaying
information an menu.
Self-adaptive Protocol
The spee ome is compatible with PELCO-D, PELCO-P, PRIVATE-Co e, VICON an KALATEL-312
protocol, etc., an is capable of being self-a aptive to these protocols without selecting protocol by
DIP switch settings.
Keyboard Control
The pan/tilt movement an zoom actions of ome can be controlle by the control keyboar , DVR,
matrix, etc.
Limit Stops
The ome can be programme to move within the limit stops (left/right, up/ own) which are
configurable by the control keyboar , DVR or client application software.
Auto Scan
The ome provi es 5 scanning mo es: pan scanning, tilt scanning, frame scanning, ran om scanning

User Manual of 4-inch High Spee Dome

an panorama scanning. The scanning spee can be set by OSD menu from level 1 to 40, with the
correspon ing spee ranging from 1°/secon to 40°/secon .
Preset Freeze Frame
This feature freezes the scene on the monitor when going to a preset. This allows for smooth
transition from one preset scene to another an also guarantees that maske area will not be
reveale when going to a preset.
Presets
Each of the user- efinable presets can be programme to use pan, tilt, camera settings an other
settings. When preset is calle , the ome will automatically move to the efine position. User is
allowe to a , mo ify, elete an call each preset.
Label Display
The on-screen label of the preset title, azimuth/elevation, zoom an other operations can be
programme by menu an isplaye on the monitor.
Auto Flip
In manual tracking mo e, when a target object goes irectly beneath the ome, the ome will
automatically rotate 90 egrees in horizontal irection to maintain continuity of tracking.
Privacy Mas
The privacy mask allows a user to program user- efine areas that cannot be viewe by the
operator of the ome system. A maske area will move with pan an tilt functions an
automatically a just in size as the lens zooms telephoto an wi e.
3D Intelligent Positioning
The spee ome can be controlle with the 2 buttons an scroll of mouse can be use un er
PRIVATE-Co e protocols with evices an client software. Click on a certain area an the evice will
move to the scene with correspon ing point as the center. When a rectangular area is selecte by
left-clicking the mouse, evice will move to its center an enlarge it. With right-clicking, the lens will
zoom in, an the scroll can easily make the lens zooming, an mouse operation automatically
incorporates zooming effect.
Proportional Pan
Proportional pan automatically re uces or increases the pan an tilt spee s in proportion to the
amount of zoom. At telephoto zoom settings, the pan an tilt spee s will be slower for a given
amount of joystick eflection than at wi e zoom settings. This keeps the image from moving too fast
on the monitor when there is a large amount of zoom.
Auto Focus
The auto focus enables the camera to focus automatically to maintain clear vi eo images.
DAY/NIGHT Auto-switch
The spee ome elivers color images uring the ay; as light iminishes at night, it switches to
night mo e an elivers black an white images with high quality. You can also switch it to NIGHT
mo e manually to increase the sensitivity in low light con itions.
Slow Shutter
Slow shutter is the function of exten ing the exposure time to accumulate more light when the light
con ition is low. Thus, the image can be brighter.
Bac light Compensation (BLC)
If the spee ome focuses on an object against strong backlight, the object will be too ark to be
seen clearly. The BLC function can compensate light to the object in the front to make it clear, but

User Manual of 4-inch High Spee Dome
3
this causes the over-exposure of the backgroun where the light is strong.
Wide Dynamic Range (WDR)
The wi e ynamic range function helps the spee ome provi e clear images even un er back light
circumstances. When there are both very bright an very ark areas simultaneously in the fiel of
view, WDR balances the brightness level of the whole image an provi e clear images with etails.
White Balance
White balance is the white ren ition function of the spee ome to a just the color temperature
accor ing to the environment automatically. It can remove the unrealistic color casts in the image.
Patrol
The high spee ome provi es up to 8 patrols. In each patrol, user is allowe to specify the scanning
track by a group of user- efine presets, with the scanning spee between two presets an the
well time at the preset separately programmable.
Pattern
A pattern is a memorize , repeating series of pan, tilt, zoom, an preset functions that can be
recalle with a comman from a controller or automatically by a configure function (alarm, park,
time task, or power-up). By efault the focus an iris are in auto status uring the preset is being
memorize .
Power-off Memory
This feature allows the ome to resume its previous position or status after power is restore . By
efault setting, the ome supports the power-off memory capability with the well time of 3
minutes.
Alarm Response Action
The spee ome supports 2 alarm inputs which can be set to NO or NC. Upon having receive the
alarm input signal, the ome will automatically activate a user- efine action, which can be
programme to: preset 1-8, pattern 1-4, patrol 1-8, pan scan, tilt scan, ran om scan, frame scan,
panoramic scan, color or B&W mo e. After the alarm is cleare , the ome is capable of resuming its
previous activity or position.
AUX Output
An auxiliary output is a configurable signal from the ome back box that can trigger another evice
to operate. The ome provi es one auxiliary output. The auxiliary output type can be set to NO
(normally open) or NC (normally close ). An the alarm well time is configurable as well.
Manchester Code Self-test
The spee ome supports Manchester co e self-test for fault iagnostic. You can enable the
Manchester co e iagnosis function by setting the positions 8 an 9 of DIP Switch to ON. The
correspon ing fault co e will be isplaye on the screen (not available uring park time) while
a opting Manchester protocol.

Time Tas
A time task is a preconfigure action that can be performe automatically at a specific ate an
time. The programmable actions inclu e: preset 1-8, pattern 1-4, patrol 1-4, pan scan, tilt scan,
ran om scan, frame scan, panorama scan, ay/night mo e or none.
Zone
A zone is a user- efine area. The ome provi es eight zones, each with configurable label. If the
ome has welle at a zone without receiving any comman over 4 minutes, this feature will enable
the ome to perform panorama scan within the zone.
Password
The ome features passwor protection to prevent unauthorize changes to the ome settings.
Camera Title
Title text is the label use to i entify the camera viewe on the monitor. Up to 15 characters can be
use for a title
RS-485 Failure Diagnostics
In the presence of failure at the transmitting an receiving terminals of RS-485 communications, the
spee ome is capable of performing self-test an etecting the fault results which will be isplaye
on the screen.
Soft Baudrate
The bau rate of ome can be configure by the menu without nee of DIP switch settings.
