IV OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
A) OPENING THE PACKAGE
Please check carefully whether there is any damage with the box before you open it.
If there are please refuse to collect it from the carrier and report within 7 days to your
dealer. Put it on a flat surface with the arrow upward. Rip away the sealed tape and
open each carton, then you’ll find:
1. One Z-bass unit
2. one set of spikes
3. one operation manual
Note: Be sure to use this amplifier only at rated voltage. Please check whether the
rated voltage marking on the plate corresponds to your line voltage. If not, please
contact your dealer or adjust.
Suggestion: Please keep the carton and the other wrappings well, perhaps you’ll use
them when you will move the amplifier.
B) CONNECTING THE WOOFER AMPLIFIER
Connect the signal output of your Preamplifier to one the RCA input sockets market
as Line In with a high quality screened signal cable. Voxativ cabling is recommended.
If you don’t have a free Line In output on your Preamplifier please ask your dealer
about an original Voxativ Y – Adaptor or use high level input
Use the Right Input for the Right Channel and the Left Input to the Left Channel.
Note: To prevent damage to the circuit, never short-circuit positive (+) and negative (-)
speaker terminals.
Ensure that the Amplifier is not connected to the AC LINE before everything is
connected.
Connect the power cord to the AC Input on the panel and then connect it to your
power outlet.
Note: The receptacle which the amplifier power cord is connected to must be the
3-pin grounding type.
Be sure to use at rated voltage. Please check whether the rated voltage marking on the
back plate corresponds to your line voltage. If not, please contact your dealer.

4
Note: Before you switch on the Amplifier ensure that all other components of your
system are switched on.
Switch off the amplifier as the first unit before you switch off anything else.
Ensure that the SUB Level is set to zero before switching it on for the first time

D) Adjusting the Z Bass
When you are sure all connections are correct and the SUB Level of the amplifier is
set to minimum, press the power knob on the panel. The power-LED will light up and
show you that the unit is running in preheat mode. After a delay of 10 seconds the
amplifier is in work condition.

5
Note: Only the SUB Level and SUB Crossover are used in this starting phase. Please
ensure that all other regulators are set to zero.
As a first setup please set the regulators as follows:
1. Please set the Sub crossover to 120Hz – This is the optimal value for the
Voxativ Zeth and Hagen systems. Higher values will cause too much voices
coming out of the woofers. Lower values will cause a gap in your frequency
response.
2. Please adjust the Sub level of the amplifier section in that way until you have a
suitable bass reproduction. Start with half level
3. Phase correction is only used if the woofers are not in a geometrical line with
the upper Speaker and placed somewhere in the room. Sometimes 180° are
better than 0
E) Phase adjustments
If one or two Voxativ Z Bass systems are used as subwoofers and are not placed in
one acoustical line with your main speakers, please follow the instructions below:
1. Place the woofers where ever you want
2. Take care that the crossover frequency is always lower than 70Hz. If higher
you can audit music from the woofers coming from unwanted areas in your
room
3. Use the phase correction as long as you feel that the music from woofers and
main speakers reach your ear in the same moment.
Note: To prevent damage to your amplifier or speaker, never disconnect the input or
power cable during the unit is running.

6
VI TROUBLESHOOTING
