Thank you for purchasing a FlyWire camera. This manual includes instructions on how to set up,
use and care for your FlyWire, as well as best practices to use this system.

Your FlyWire camera films in 1080p HD video, has a 145 wide-angle lens, records to a micro SD card
in five minute segments/files for easy reviewing, and is powered by three AAA rechargeable batteries
for approximately 90 minutes of continuous recording. In this manual, we will show you what comes
with your FlyWire camera, how to use your FlyWire, and how to easily install a variety of mounts.

Quick Start Instructions:
1. Install 3x AAA batteries in proper orientation as shown
by opening the battery door on the underside of DVR.
2. Insert micro SD card, connect camera
HDMI, and microphone (if recording
audio) as shown.
3. Power on the system by quickly pressing and
releasing the push button. The green LED will
flicker for approximately 3.5 seconds while the
system boots and remain solid green as shown
when the system is ready to record.
4. To record a video file quickly press and release push button.
Red LED will flash indicating video is being recorded.
5. To stop recording, quickly press and release push button again. Red LED will turn off indicating
system has returned to standby mode (Green LED only).
NOTE: If video file is currently being written to SD card, red LED may continue to blink for a moment after
push button press. This is normal and the recording will end after properly saving the file.
6. To turn off the system, press and hold push button for 1.5 seconds. The red LED will quickly
flash and all LEDs will turn off indicating system has turned off.
Video can be played back/transferred via removing the SD card or by connecting the DVR to a
computer or other smart device via USB cable.
NOTE: To avoid corrupting files it is always recommended to properly unmount SD cards when swapping
them among multiple devices. It is also recommended to properly eject the DVR when connected to a
computer before powering off.

How to Download Video from the Camera to Your Computer:
You can easily download the video taken with your FlyWire camera onto your computer via USB or
micro SD card.
To transfer via micro SD card:
1. Remove the micro SD card directly from the DVR itself.
2. Put the micro SD card into adapter (included in starter kit).
3. Place card directly into SD card slot located on the side of *most standard computers.
4. Autoplay will show the SD card drive (or locate drive manually).
*Computers without an SD card slot require a USB adapter that is NOT included. To use a USB
adapter with micro SD card:
1. Slide SD card into adapter slot.
2. Plug USB adapter into USB port.
3. Follow instructions for step 4 above
NOTE: To avoid potentially corrupting video files it is very important to eject the SD card properly
from computer by navigating to your Computer folder, selecting the SD card icon and then clicking
“eject” on the drop down menu.
To transfer via USB connection:
1. Take the USB cable (included in the starter kit) and plug the small end
into the micro USB connector on the DVR.
2. Connect the larger opposite end to a USB port on the computer or
other device BEFORE turning on DVR.
3. Power on DVR as shown in Step 3 of Quick Start Instructions
4. DVR will connect with the computer after a few seconds and autoplay
will show the SD card drive (or locate drive manually). Active USB
connection is indicated by solid yellow LED on DVR.
5. Follow proper eject procedure and power off DVR before disconnecting
from computer.

Problem Illustration Recommendation
My FlyWire will not turn on
Make sure the batteries are installed in the proper
orientation
My FlyWire will turn on but
WILL NOT record or turn off
Reset the device by removing the battery. Make sure
the camera module is connected to DVR before
turning on.
My FlyWire WILL NOT
record but WILL turn off
Check to make sure a properly formatted micro-SD
card is installed before attempting to record.
My FlyWire doesn't record
sound or there is
interference in the sound
Make sure a microphone is connected to Flywire and
that it is properly secured in DVR clip (or similar)
My FlyWire will only record
for a brief moment
Make sure the SD card installed is not full. FlyWire
will exit recording mode upon detecting a completely
filled SD card.
My FlyWire will turn itself
off automatically
FlyWire will automatically save the current video file
and power off when the batteries are fully
discharged. This is normal and requires a charged set
of batteries to be installed to continue recording.
My FlyWire WILL NOT
connect with USB and WILL
NOT turn off after
connecting to computer
FlyWire uses a universal USB driver compatible with
most PC and MAC. However if FlyWire does not
connect properly, unplug from PC or MAC and remove
battery to reset the device. It is recommended to
use a micro-SD card reader for downloading video if
USB connection is unavailable.
