1.0 INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the ZX-10 action camera. Please read through
the User Manual before attempting to use the ZX-10.

5.0 GETTING STARTED
CAUTION:
Before using your action camera please ensure you read and understand the
following product and safety precautions.
• Do not use the ZX-10 in water without the waterproof case.
• Do not use the ZX-10 with the waterproof case in water deeper than 30m.
• Always check the waterproof case seal is clean and free of debris before use
in water.
• Do not attempt to open the ZX-10 camera or modify it. If the ZX-10 has been
tampered with the warranty will be void. Maintenance and repairs should
only be performed by Zero-X customer service representatives. Please see
the warranty at the end of this manual for more information.
• Do not handle or charge the ZX-10 with wet hands unless it is enclosed in its
waterproof case. This will help avoid damage to your camera.
• Only recharge the ZX-10 battery using the supplied USB cable.
• Do not use the ZX-10 in temperatures that exceed 55°C.
• Do not drop, crush, pierce, bend, deform, microwave, incinerate or shoot the
ZX-10.

BATTERY WARNING
Always charge the ZX-10 using the provided USB Cable. If the ZX-10 is not
charged as directed in this manual, the battery may become damaged and
fail.
• Never dismantle the ZX-10 or expose the internal battery cell.
• Do not dispose of the ZX-10 in fire.
• Please dispose of the ZX-10 mindfully and observe local regulations,
especially in regards to the safe disposal of the internal battery. Check your
local recycling facility for more information.
• Do not attempt to expose the internal battery cell.
• Only use a certified 5V 1A USB charger to charge the ZX-10. Using non-
certified chargers could potentially damage the ZX-10, or the ZX-10 battery
and void the warranty.
• Do not let the battery charge overnight.
• If the ZX-10 appears to still need charging after three hours, temporarily
remove it from its charger as the battery may overheat. Let it cool down for
30 minutes and try charging again.
5.1 CHARGING THE BATTERY
We recommend that you fully charge your ZX-10 before use. A full
charge will take approximately 2.5 hours using a 5V / 1A charger.

The LED light on the back of the ZX-10 indicates the status of the unit’s
charging cycle. It will stay RED while charging. When the ZX-10 is fully
charged the LED light will turn OFF.
5.2 MICRO SD CARD COMPATIBILITY
The ZX-10 requires a Micro SD Card (not included) to save the files it
records. We recommend to use a maximum 32GB, Class 10 or higher
Micro SD Card from a well known brand.
NOTE: There is only one correct way to insert the Micro SD Card into your ZX-
10. It should easily slide in. Do not force the card into the slot as it may
damage the unit and the card.
5.3 POWERING YOUR ZX-10
To power ON your ZX-10 follow the below steps:
1. Insert the battery into the unit.
2. Press and hold the ON/OFF button on the front of the unit, until the
start up screen appears.
5.4 FORMAT YOUR MICRO SD CARD
We recommend that you format your Micro SD card before you
start using the ZX-10. You can do via the ZX-10, by following these
instructions:

1. Once the ZX-10 is fully charged insert your Micro SD Card into the
correct slot (See 4.0 COMPONENTS on page 6).
2. Press the ON/OFF button on the front of the unit to turn ON the
ZX-10.
3. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu. The navigation menu defaults
to open in the video/image/Playback settings (dependent on what
mode your ZX-10 is currently in).
4. Quick press the shoot/record button again once in the navigation
menu to navigate to the settings menu.
5. Press the down button five times on the right side of the unit to
navigate down the menu to ‘Format’.
6. Press the shoot/trigger button again to open the Format section.
7. Press the shoot/trigger button again to click ‘Yes’. This will initiate
the formatting of the Micro SD card.
NOTE:
Formatting the Micro SD card will permanently erase all data stored on
the Micro SD card. Be sure to back up all saved data prior to formatting.

6.0 ZX-10 CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
6.1 POWER ON/OFF BUTTON
The ON/OFF button is located at the front of the ZX-10 in the top left
corner. This is used to power the unit ON/OFF.
The ON/OFF button is also used to switch between the camera modes
and also serves as the back button, when you are in the navigation
settings.
6.2 SHOOT/RECORD BUTTON
The shoot/record button is located on the top, right hand side of the
ZX-10. This button is used to shoot images and also record videos
(start and stop videos).
The shoot/record button is also used to access the navigation settings
menus, select menu items, and confirm your selection.
6.3 ACCESSING SYSTEM SETTINGS
You can access system settings when using any of the camera modes.
If you are currently in video mode and recording, you will need to
press the shoot/record button to end the recording first. To access
system settings for the ZX-10 follow the below steps:
1. Press the shoot/record button to end recording if you are in video
mode and recording.

2. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Quick press the shoot/record button again once in the navigation
menu to navigate to the settings menu.
6.4 SETTING THE DATE & TIME
To set the correct date and time on your ZX-10, turn the unit on and
follow the steps below:
1. Press the shoot/record button to end recording if you are in video
mode and recording.
2. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Quick press the shoot/record button again once in the navigation
menu to tab over to the settings menu.
4. Press the down button once to navigate down the menu to ‘date/
time’. You will see this option highlight.
5. Quick press the shoot/record button again once to open the date/
time settings. A screen will appear with the date and time.
NOTE: The number which is highlighted yellow can be changed with
the up and down buttons. The date is set as DD/MM/YYYY,
and the time is 24 hour mode and is set as HH:MM.

6. Set the correct date and time. Once you have adjusted the first
value, press the shoot/record button to jump to the next value (you
will notice the next value will now be highlighted yellow).
7. When all adjustments have been made for date and time, press the
ON/OFF button twice to exit the navigation menu.
6.5 AUTO POWER OFF
The auto power OFF function is designed to help extend the battery
life of the ZX-10. It will automatically power OFF after a selected
period of inactivity (1, 3, 5 minutes). To choose which option the unit
will power off (1, 3 or 5 minutes), follow the steps below:
1. Press the shoot/record button to end recording if you are in video
mode and recording.
2. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Quick press the shoot/record button again once in the navigation
menu to navigate to the settings menu.
4. Press the down button twice to navigate down the menu to ‘auto
power off’. You will see this option highlight.
5. Quick press the shoot/record button again once to open the Auto
Power Off settings. Four options will appear on the menu: 1 minute,
3 minutes, 5 minutes and OFF.
Press the down button to the option
you require.

Press the shoot/record button to select.
6. To exit the navigation menu, press the ON/OFF button.
Follow the steps for all four auto power off options.
6.6 SOUND
You have the ability to adjust the sound settings in the ZX-10. Sounds
will come from the unit with shutter, start up screen, and beep. The
ZX-10 default settings for sound are:
Shutter: ON
Start Up: OFF
Beep: Once
Volume: Level 2
To change the sound settings, follow the below steps:
1. Press the shoot/record button to end recording if you are in video
mode and recording.
2. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Quick press the shoot/record button again once in the navigation
menu to navigate to the settings menu.
4. Press the down button four times to navigate down the menu to
‘Sounds’. You will see this option highlight.

5. Quick press the shoot/record button again, once to open the sound
settings. Four options will appear on the menu: shutter, start-up,
beep and volume.
Press the
shoot/record button
to the option you
require and you will see this selection highlighted.
6. To adjust the setting, press the up/down button to the level you
prefer. The volume setting options are as follows:
Shutter: ON, OFF
Start-up: 1, 2, 3, None
Beep: ON, OFF
Volume: 0, 1, 2, 3
7. Once all settings are changed, press the ON/OFF button twice to exit
the menu navigation.
6.7 SCREEN SAVER
Record videos and conserve power with the screen saver function,
which allows the LCD display to turn OFF while the ZX-10 continues to
record. There are four screen saver options to choose from. The ZX-10
default setting is set to OFF. To either activate or change this setting,
follow the below steps:
1. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu.
2. Quick press the shoot/record button again once in the navigation
menu to tab over to the settings menu.

3. Press the down button three times to navigate down the menu to
‘screen saver’. You will see this option highlight.
4. Quick press the shoot/record button again once to open the Sound
settings. Four options will appear on the menu: 1 minute, 3 minutes,
5 minutes and OFF. Press the up/down button to the option you
require.

6. To exit the navigation menu, press the ON/OFF button.
Follow the steps for all four screen saver options.
6.8 ZOOMING IN & OUT
You are able to zoom in and out of photos and videos by the same
controls. The ZX-10 default is set the furtherest distance.
ZOOMING IN
To zoom in when in photo or video mode, press the down button
to incrementally zoom in. To zoom in, hold the down button. The
maximum it will zoom to is x 4.0.
ZOOMING OUT
To zoom out an image that is currently ‘zoomed in’ press the up
button. This will incrementally zoom the image out. To zoom it out
completely, hold down the up button.

7.0 PICTURE SETTINGS
7.1 PHOTO MODE
Before you take a photo, ensure that you are in the correct mode. You
are able to identify this through the icon on the top left corner on the
screen (there will be a camera icon in photo mode).
If you are not in this mode quick press the ON/OFF button to change
between modes. Once you are in the correct mode, press the shoot/
record button on the top of the unit to take a photo.
You have the option of changing the image resolution through the
ZX-10. You can change between 12, 10, 8 and 5 Megapixels.
The higher the number, the higher the resolution and the more
detailed your photos will be. The ZX-10 is defaulted to shoot at 5
megapixels. To change resolution, follow the below steps:
1. Ensure you are in photo mode.
2. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Press the down button once. You will see the ‘resolution’ tab
highlight.
4. Press the shoot/record button to open the resolution menu.

5. You can now press the up or down button again to move between
options. Once the desired resolution is chosen, press the shoot/
record button to change.
6. To exit the navigation menu, press the ON/OFF button.
7.2 CAPTURE MODE
You are able to change the capture mode on the ZX-10. You can
change between single, self 2S (2 second timer), self 10S (10 second
timer) and burst. The ZX-10 default setting is set to single mode. To
change this setting, follow the below steps:
1. Ensure you are in photo mode.
2. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Press the down button twice. You will see the ‘capture mode’ tab
highlight.
4. Press the shoot/record button to open the capture mode menu.
5. You can now press the up or down button again to move between
options. Once a desired capture mode is chosen, press the shoot/
record button to change.
6. To exit the navigation menu, press the ON/OFF button.

BEGINNERS TIP: A single photo will take only one photo at a time. The self
2S will have a 2 second delay before capturing the image. The self 10S will
have a 10 second delay before capturing the image. (These are great for
selfies or when you have no one else to take a photo for you). Burst mode
takes 3 photos consecutively. Be sure to keep the ZX-10 still when using this
mode.
7.3 DATE STAMP
The date and time is displayed on your images by default. While
the date stamp function is a default feature of the ZX-10, it can be
changed by following these steps:
1. Ensure you are in photo mode.
2. Press and hold the shoot/record button on the top of the unit. This
will bring up the navigation menu.
3. Press the down button three times. You will see the ‘date stamp’ tab
highlight.
4. Press the shoot/record button to open the date stamp menu.
5. You can now press the up or down button again to move between
options. Once a desired capture mode is chosen, press the shoot/
record button to change.
6. To exit the navigation menu, press the ON/OFF button.

8.0 VIDEO SETTINGS
8.1 VIDEO MODE
When you turn on the ZX-10, it will automatically default to video
mode. You can identify this mode through the icon on the top left
corner on the screen (there will be a video camera icon in video
mode).
Once you are in the correct mode, to begin recording press the
shoot/record button. The red LED light on the top of the unit will start
flashing when recording. You will also see a flashing red dot on the
screen next to the video camera icon.
To stop recording, press the shoot/trigger icon again.
The ZX-10 comes with a fixed resolution of 1080P Full High Definition.
8.2 PLAYBACK MODE
Playback mode will enable you
to view photos and videos you have
shot with the ZX-10.
To open Playback mode, press the shoot/record button to end
recording if you are in video mode and recording, then press the ON/
OFF button. You will see the Playback icon in the top left corner of the
screen when you are in this mode.
