INTRODUCTION
Thank you for acquiring the DT Research DS1200,
a 12-inch integrated compung display in one slim,
mountable package. This all-in-one signage system
is ideal for digital signage and kiosk applicaons.
Operang with the Microso® Windows® XP Embedded system, the DS1200 offers remote
management of the content and device with WebDT Content Manager and WebDT Device Manager
soware. This fully integrated soluon of hardware and soware, with touch and point-of-service
opons, facilitates efficient deployments and brings dynamic interacon to the audience.
Please take a few moments to review the contents of this document to ensure that the setup and
startup proceed smoothly. The DS1200 is ready for use, out of the box, in its default configuraon
when powered by the power source provided. The following discussion offers guidance on
the hardware elements and features of the DS1200. Please refer to your device provider for
informaon pertaining to the soware operang system or soware applicaons.

Precauons
Always exercise care when operang and handling the DS1200.•

•ever disassemble any poron of the enclosure, as this will void any product warranty on the
DS1200.

•o not use any AC/DC adapter other than the one provided with the device or a replacement
acquired from the manufacturer.

•n the unlikely event that smoke, abnormal noise or strange odor is present, immediately power
down the DS1200 and disconnect all power sources. Please report the problem to your device
provider immediately.

Packaging
The DS1200 is packaged with recyclable materials and designed for maximum protecon in•
transportaon and handling.
When possible, please save the packaging carton and protecve inserts for re-use if there is ever•
a need to ship the DS1200.
I/O Panels
Side I/O Panel
The DS1200 has two USB 2.0 ports located and easily
accessible along the right edge of the display unit.
Lower I/O Panel
The DS1200 has a comprehensive set of I/O ports. The
following ports are located along the lower rear edge of the
display unit.

Rear Mounng
The DS1200 is designed to be secured to 75mm x 75mm VESA-compliant mounng arms or stands.
This is accomplished by detaching the standard metal base from the rear of the display unit. The
75mm x 75mm VESA-compliant mounng holes at the rear of the device will mate with VESA
mounts or arms to meet the requirements of the deployment.
Unscrew the four screws aaching the 100mm x1.

May be configured to perform different funcons, depending on the soware operang•
system.
Depending on the OS, a brief, firm push will trigger soware-enabled entry into Shutdown•
or Standby modes. Push in similar manner to Restart or to exit Standby mode.
Push and hold for over 4 seconds to forcefully shut down the device.•
This method of powering offshould only be used when proper shutdown through soware•
is not possible.
The four buons are intended to be user programmable via soware in applicable operang
systems.
