1.2 An Overview
Let us take the time to get to know your instrument. It’s important that you should feel comfortable
with your new Sonic to get the maximum music making enjoyment from it. Like all newly developed
instruments, learning to use the Sonic naturally will have a learning curve.
Additional to this hard copy manual, there will also be DVD tutorials produced by WERSI Direct Ltd.
We anticipate these DVD’s to be expanded as and when the WERSI development team produce new
software updates for your Sonic, improving the instrument and the OpenArt-System (OAS8) - OAX.

chord or note pressed on the Lower Manual will still continue to sound! Perfect for releasing your left
hand to be able to use other controls on the Sonic!
WERSI-Chord - This button allows you to turn on the ‘Easy-Harmony’ type effect. In the past this is
sometimes referred to as ‘Single Finger Melody’ or ‘Single-Finger Harmony’. Different manufacturers
have different names for this. WERSI have always called their intelligent auto-harmony system
‘WERSI-Chord’.
When you play a note or chord on the Lower Manual, a corresponding harmony is played when you
press a note on the Upper Manual.
There are many different Harmony Types:
4-Way Close 1 Harmony

the Buttons between the upper and lower manuals. You’ll see that
they are direct copies of each other. Both serve the same function.
The reason there are two registration sets of buttons is that
different people have different playing styles and while some are
used to the WERSI Total Preset buttons of the OAS and CD-Line, many are used to the registration
styling of buttons between manuals found on many Japanese manufactured organs and our later OAS 7
organs.
