Wheelock Series MIZ piezoelectric Mini Horns are
compact electronic alarm appliances that are listed
under CAN/ULC-525-99 forAudible SignalAppliances.
The Series MIZ offer field selectable settings for
Temporal (Code 3) or Continuous Horn along with an
attractiveappearanceanddependableperformance.The
Series MIZ offers high sound output along with low
current draw and is ideal for alarm signaling in individual
rooms, apartments, hotels, motels and offices. Color
choices of red or off-white will blend with any décor.

• MIZ-TC audible appliances are not designed to be used on coded systems in which the applied voltage is
cycled on and off. Not designed to be used with Sync Modules (SM or DSM).

Wheelock products must be used within their published specifications and must be PROPERLY specified, applied, installed, operated,
maintained and operationally tested in accordance with their installation instructions at the time of installation and at least twice a year or
more often and in accordance with local, state and federal codes, regulations and laws. Specification, application, installation, operation,
maintenance and testing must be performed by qualified personnel for proper operation in accordance with all of the latest National Fire
ProtectionAssociation(NFPA), Underwriters’Laboratories (UL), National ElectricalCode (NEC), Occupational Safetyand Health
Administration(OSHA), local, state,county, province,district, federal and other applicable building and firestandards,guidelines,
regulations,laws and codes including, butnot limitedto, all appendicesand amendmentsand the requirements of thelocal authorityhaving
jurisdiction(AHJ).

The notification appliance shall be a Wheelock Series MIZ audible appliance or approved equal. The MIZ Notification Appliance shall
be electronic and shall have field selectable settings for Temporal (Code 3) or Continuous horn. The sound pressure measurement
on Temporal (Code 3) setting shall be 87 dBA minimum at 24VDC. The sound pressure measurement on Continuous Horn setting
shall be 87 dBA minimum at 24 VDC. Operating voltage shall be 24 VDC using filtered power or unfiltered power supply (full-wave-
rectified). All models shall have provision for standard reverse polarity type supervision and IN/OUT wiring using terminals that
accept #12 to #18 AWG wiring. The appliances shall be mounted indoors and mount on standard electrical backboxes requiring no
additional trimplates or adapters.
