MICROWWE OVEN CONTROLS
There are three parts in the control section
-The Digital Display/ Clock,

When the oven is first plugged in, the Display shows 88:88. If the electric power ever
goes off, the Display will also show all 8’s when the power comes back on.
You can cook or use the Minute Timer without setting the clock, but the display will be
blank after cooking. The oven door must be closed before setting the clock.

STANDING TIME
The QUICK DEFROST Signal Light WI/I stay on

DEFROST Cycle

how much defrosting time IS left
When the defrost time ends, you WIII hear 4

CANCEL] When the beeping stops the

For best results, allow the food to stand for a while after defrosting This helps equalize
the temperature of the food to provide more even defrostrng
When COOK CYCLE 1 follows QUICK DEFROST, the oven automatically provtdes a
standing time equal to the trme touched in for QUICK DEFROST COOK CYCLE 1 will
begin after the automatic standing time
For a different standing trme:
I. Touch QUICK DEFROST and desired time
2 Touch COOK CYCLE 2.
3. Touch numbers for desired standing time
4. Touch COOK POWER
5. Touch “0” for zero Cook Power.
6. Touch START.
When the QUICK DEFROST is over, the oven will shut off The Display will count down
the time for COOK CYCLE 2 at zero Cook Power. You will hear 4 beeps when the
standing time is over.
ABOUT THE “QUICK DEFROST” CYCLE
The microwave oven automatically divides the time set for the QUICK DEFROST
Cycle into three equal parts.
- First part 80% of full Cook Power,
-Second part 50% oi full Cook Power
-Third part 20% of full Cook Power.
This automatic step-down in Cook Paw& is an important part of the QUICK DEFROST
Cycle. It helps defrost food quickly and completely
CHANGING OR ADDING DEFROST TIME
You can change the time setting any time while the QUICK DEFROST Cycle is
operating:
1. Touch QUICK DEFROST.
2. Touch numbers for the new time.
3. Touch START.
Any new time setting made while QUlCK DEFROST is operating will continue the
defrosting only at 20% of full Cook Power.
The best time to change the setting is near the end of the QUICK DEFROST Cycle.
1. Open the door.
2 Check the food with long-tined fork; if center area is hard frozen, set additional
time. Remember that standing time will further defrost the food
3. Close the door and touch START to continue the cycle if no additional time IS
needed.
4. Or, touch in new instructions if additional time is needed.

COOKING IN TWO CYCLES
For best results. some recipes call for one Cook Power for a certain length of time, and
another Cook Power for another length of time. Your microwave oven can be set to change
from one to another automatically

You can change times, Cook Powers, or add COOK CYCLE 2 at anytime during oven
operation.
1. Touch the Cook Cycle You wish to change or add (COOK CYCLE 1 or 2).
2. Touch numbers for new time, if desired.
3. Touch COOK POWER, if desired.
4 Touch number for new Cook Power, or touch COOK POWER again if high is desired

The PAUSE can be added while the oven is operating in COOK CYCLE 7, and if there is

The microwave oven will stop automatically after COOK CYCLE 1. You will hear one
beep COOK CYCLE 2 will not begin until START is touched,

-Pastry items [pies, turnovers, etc.] should be uncovered during KEEP WARM.
-Complete meals kept warm on a dinner plate should be covered during KEEP WARM.
-The use of more than one complete KEEP WARM (about 1 hour, 40 minutes] is not
recommended The quality of some foods will suffer with extended time.

l KEEP WARM will not directly follow QUICK DEFROST It will follow any cooking cycle that
follows QUICK DEFROST, or WIII follow COOK TEMP
COOKING WITH THE TEMP ERATURE PROBE
The MEAL SENSOR. Temperature Probe takes guesswork out of cooking roasts and
larger casseroles. The probe is designed to turn off the oven when it senses the
temperature you want For suggested temperatures for different foods. see your MICRO
MENUS Cookbook

CLEANING THE PROBE:

Use COOK CYCLE 1 at “0” Cook Power to delay the start of COOK CYCLE 2 for up to 99
minutes, 99 seconds.

The Display will show the numbers You
touched in the order you touched them.

l If You open the door before the oven
begins to cook, be sure to retouch

CALCTION:
Use foods that will not go bad or spoil
while waiting for cooking to start. Avoid
using dishes with milk or eggs, cream
soups, cooked meats, poultry or fish, or
any item with baking powder or Yeast.
Smoked or frozen meats may be used;
so can vegetables, fruits and casserole-
type foods.
Any food that has to wait for cooking
to start should be very cold or frozen
before it is put in the oven. MOST
UNFROZEN FOODS SHOULD NEVER STAND
MORE THAN TWO HOURS BEFORE COOK-
ING STARTS.
CHANGING OR ADDING INSTRUCTIONS

Instructions, and to let you change Instructions after you have started the oven
l You can change the Mlnute Timer at any time during its operation:
- Touch MINUTE TIMER.
- Touch in new time.
- Touch START. The new time will start counting down.
This is also true when using the Minute Timer during cooking or defrosting operations.
l KEEP WARM can be used by itself or it can be added at any time:
- Touch KEEP WARM.
- Touch START.
- If used by itself, KEEP WARM will start.
- If added to cooking operations, KEEP WARM WIII start after the lust cooking cycle, or
COOK TEMP.

CHANGING OR ADDING CONTINUED
l PAUSE can be added only if both COOK CYCLE 1 and 2 are used, and then only
before COOK CYCLE 1 ends.
- Touch PAUSE.
- Touch START.
- The oven will stop after COOK CYCLE j.
- Stir, turn or add ingredients.
- Touch START to continue with COOK CYCLE 2
l Cooklng tlme can be changed at any time during either cooking cycle:
- Touch the Cook Cycle you wish to change [COOK CYCLE 1 or 2).
- Touch numbers for the new time.
- Touch START.
- The cycle WIII cook at the original Cook Power for the new time
l Cook Power can be changed at any time during either cooking cycle, or COOK TEMP.
- Touch the Cook Cycle you wish to change [COOK CYCLE 1 or 2).
- Touch COOK POWER if you want to change to a Cook Power other than high.
- Touch a number for the new Cook Power.
- Touch START. The cycle will cook at the new Cook Power for the original time.

Touch COOK POWER twice if you want to change a lower Cook Power to high
- Touch START
l COOK CYCLE 2 can be added at any time before COOK CYCLE 1 ends.
- Touch COOK CYCLE 2.
- Touch numbers for desired cooking time.
- Touch COOK POWER, if a Cook Power other than high is desired.
- Touch a number for the Cook Power.
- Touch START. COOK CYCLE 2 will automaticaly follow COOK CYCLE 1.
l When using the Temperature Probe, COOK TEMP can be changed during
operation:
- Touch COOK TEMP
- Touch number for new temperature.
- Touch START. The oven will continue cooking to the new temperature. If the new
temperature IS lower than the temperature of the food, the oven will shut off
l COOK CYCLE 1 or 2 can be added anytime while QUICK DEFROST is operating:
- Touch COOK CYCLE 1 or 2.
- Touch in time and Cook Power instructions.
- Touch START.
Standing time occurs between QUICK DEFROST and COOK CYCLE 1. not
between QUICK DEFROST and COOK CYCLE 2.
CANCELLING INSTRUCTIONS
l Touch CANCEL to erase all instructions or beeps except Minute rimer.
l To cancel the Minute Timer:
-Touch MINUTE TIMER.
-Touch CANCEL.
l Opening the oven door during cooking does not cancel cooking instructions
However, KEEP WARM is cancelled when the oven door is opened.
PROGRAMMING TONE
Each time you touch Q pad you will hear a tone. If you do not hear a tone, it is
because the instruction is not correct, or It is because the tones have been removed
EXAMPLE: If you forget to plug in the Temperature Probe and touch COOK TEMP.
You will not hear u tone. The instruction is not correct.
If you want to remove the tone:
l Open the door.
l Touch CANCEL twice, then START.
l The tone will not sound for any touch.
