GETTING STARTED
Congratulations on purchasing your WhirTrix Home kettle!
Please read and follow all the instructions in this guide before attempting to use your kettle. Keep
this manual handy for future reference.
In the event that a warranty service is required, it is recommended that you record the complete
model number (located on the Product Identification Plate) and the date you purchased the product.
Store it somewhere safe, along with your purchase receipt.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT.
Follow these basic safety precautions in order to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury to
persons or property:
DO:
•Always operate the product from a power source of the same voltage, frequency and rating
as indicated on the Product Identification Plate.
•Regularly check the power cord for damage.
•Switch off and unplug the appliance from the outlet before filling, emptying, cleaning, when
not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts.
•Always remove the plug from the wall socket by pulling on the plug, not the power cord.
•Use with a residual current device (safety switch) to reduce the risk of scalding or other
injury.
•Avoid touching hot surfaces, handles and knobs.
•Closely supervise when the product is used by children, near children or invalids.
DO NOT:
•Do not operate the product if it has a damaged cord, plug, if the product malfunctions, is
dropped or appears damaged in any way. Return the complete product to the place of
purchase for inspection, repair or replacement.
•Do not immerse, expose the product or flexible power cord to rain, moisture or any liquid.
•Do not overfill. If the kettle is overfilled beyond the maximum fill mark, there is a risk that
boiling water may be ejected from the spout.
•Never operate the kettle on an inclined plane.
•Do not operate the kettle unless the element is fully immersed.
•Do not move the kettle while it is switched on.
•Do not boil the kettle unless the lid is firmly closed.
•Do not leave the kettle unattended when in use.
•Never let the power cord hang over an edge or touch any hot surface.
•Do not operate or place any part of this product on or near any hot surface –e.g. a gas or
electric burner, a hotplate, heated oven, etc.

Note: The use of attachments or accessories not recommended or sold by the product distributor
may cause personal or property hazards, as well as injuries.
HOW TO USE YOUR AUTOMATIC KETTLE
•Before first use, remove all packaging materials from the kettle and power base.
•Put the power switch in the {OFF} position and remove the power cord from the kettle.
•Fill the kettle to the desired level. Do not fill above the {MAX} mark.
•Ensure that the kettle is in the {OFF} position (switch up) and connect the power supply cord
to a power outlet of the same voltage and frequency as detailed on the Product
Identification Plate.
•Flip the switch into the {ON} position (switch down). The power indicator light will turn on.
•When the water has boiled, the kettle will automatically switch off. If required, the water
may be brought back to the boil by flipping the switch to {ON}.
•The kettle may be switched off at any time by pressing the switch on the handle to the {OFF}
position (switch up).
•Switch the power off at the power outlet before disconnecting the power cord from the
kettle.
•Do not use hot water to fill the kettle. Use only cold water. Allow the cold water tap to run
for three to four seconds before filling the kettle.
•If any plastic taste from the kettle is experienced, fill the kettle to {MAX} and add a teaspoon
of bicarbonate of soda to the water. Boil and discard the water, then rinse with cold water.
Note: When using the kettle for the first time or after a long period of disuse, rinse the kettle; fill
it to {MAX} and boil. The water should then be discarded, the kettle rinsed and refilled with cold
water.

AUTOMATIC SAFETY CUT-OUT
An automatic safety cut-out feature is fitted for protection against boil-dry overheating. It will
operate if the kettle is switched on when containing insufficient water. If this should occur, switch
off the kettle and remove the power cord from the power outlet. Allow the kettle to cool for 10
minutes, then refill with cold water and connect to the power supply.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
•Avoid the use of solvents, polish and abrasive or aerosol cleaners as they may damage the
surface of the product. The inside of the kettle may be cleaned using a mild detergent;
however it must be thoroughly rinsed before re-use. Clean the exterior of the kettle by
wiping with a slightly dampened soft cloth. Make sure the kettle is thoroughly dried before
reconnection to the power supply. Do not immerse the kettle in water or any other liquid.
•In case of residue build up, descale the kettle regularly. To descale, fill the kettle with 1L
water and add 50ml vinegar. Bring to the boil and allow to stand overnight. The following
day, boil the kettle again, pour the water out and refill with fresh water. Bring to the boil
again. This water must also be poured away. Commercial de-scaler for kettles may also be
used. Follow the instructions on the de-scaler product packaging.
CAUTION:
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with lack of experience,
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, without supervision or instruction by a person
responsible for their safety.

Please note: Any damage caused by failure to observe this instruction guide will immediately
void the warranty. The manufacturer / importer accepts no liability for damages caused by careless
use of the appliance or use not in accordance with the instructions contained in this manual.
DISPOSING OF THE APPLIANCE
This product may not be disposed of with normal household waste at the end of its service life, but
must be handed into a special collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic
appliances. The symbol on the item, instructions and packaging alerts you to this. The materials
that have been used are suitable for recycling. You will be making an important contribution to the
protection of our environment by recycling used appliances or materials. Find out from your local
authority where the designated collection point is.
PACKAGING
The packaging materials for this product are 100% recyclable.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS
The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage resulting from the following:
•The result of a fall or accident
•If the appliance has been technically modified by the user or third-parties
•Due to improper use of the appliance
•Due to normal wear and tear
-Always retain your proof of purchase, without this no claim can be made on any form of
warranty.
-In the event of damage caused as a result of failure to observe the instructions, any warranty
rights are voided.
-The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage to property or personal injury caused by
improper use or a failure to observe safety regulations. In such instances, any warranty
claim shall be voided.
-Other than cleaning, as set out in these instructions, no maintenance to this appliance is
necessary.
-If problems, which are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, should occur within
1 (one) year of the date of purchase, the appliance may be presented at the point of sale in
exchange for a replacement of the same product.
-Register any queries or complaints at the point of sale.
-This appliance has a 12 month warranty effective from the date of purchase as shown on the
sales receipt.
-Only defects in materials and / or workmanship will qualify in respect of this warranty.
-If you wish to make a warranty claim, please ensure that you hand in the appliance in its
entirety and in its original box, together with proof of purchase at the point of sale.
-Damage to accessories or parts does not automatically infer that the entire appliance be
replaced. Broken glass / plastic parts or accessories are not covered by the warranty.
-The retailer shall not in terms of these warranties be responsible nor held liable for any
consequential loss or damages of any kind caused by or due to the failure or malfunction of
the appliance.
-Faults to accessories or to parts subject to wear, including cleaning and maintenance are not
covered by the warranty.
-The warranty is voided in cases of unauthorised handling.
-The retailer shall not be responsible from damages resulting from fire, flood, civil
disturbances or any acts of God.

Note: This appliance is intended for household use only. Industrial or commercial use will void
the warranty, and the supplier cannot be held responsible for injury or damage caused when using
the appliance for any other purpose that that for which it is intended.
